A coworker and I moved from SD to FL and experienced a severe lack of communication from Chad (company owner) through the moving process and paid for services that were not fulfilled. When I shared my concerns and wanted to discuss reimbursement for services not provided with Chad, I got no reply.
• I received little to no communication from Chad regarding the truck’s progress, expected arrival time, and delays. One of the moving trucks broke down day 1 of the move and my household goods were delayed by 24 hours. I completely understand that things happen out of anyone’s control. But the delay was not communicated and I was eventually told about it at 5pm the day my stuff was supposed to arrive leaving me with no place to stay and having to pay another night for a hotel. Even after the breakdown, we were left wondering when our belongings would arrive instead of receiving proactive updates. It was also very difficult to get ahold of Chad prior the move itself. I was given his cell number yet I would leave voicemails and texts with no response.
• Chad had told me he would be helping with both the driving and the unloading, but he was not present for either even though he told me he was in the area for holiday. As a result, only two movers were unloading and unpacking the truck for 2 houses until I called stating we would find another company to fulfill services if the process was going to be delayed any further and possibly Incurring another hotel night (out of pocket). Chad finally found another mover to help but only after he called one of his employees and yelled at him for the delay and stated he was concerned about receiving a 1 star review. Keep in mind Chad had ditched out on helping his two movers to enjoy the 4th of July holiday in Florida with his family instead. The lack of help for his staff made it much more difficult than it should have been and I had to assist the team in unloading the trucks in 90+ degree weather to help them avoid an 18 hour day is this heat.
• My bed was disassembled by 1 crew and but was not reassembled (a paid for service). The movers attempting to put it back together were not the same ones who took it apart, pieces were missing, and ultimately I had to assemble it myself. Since I had no tools, I had to purchase a drill and replacement screws for the ones that were lost out of my own pocket to complete a job that I had already paid the company to do.
• Lastly, despite paying additional fees to have belongings delivered to two separate locations, several items were mistakenly delivered to the wrong location and now have to be transported back across the state of Florida.
We chose this company expecting a professional, full-service move, and unfortunately that is not what we received. As much as we appreciated the services provided by the Travis and Frank (and praise their efforts and grit after being left to unload two houses nearly by themselves) it was a partial service from the company. I would have appreciated reimbursement for the out-of-pocket expenses I incurred because of these issues, including the additional hotel night, the tools and hardware required to assemble my bed, transportation of goods from Spring Hill back to Orlando and appropriate compensation for the services that were paid for but not fulfilled. Unfortunately, once you pay Chad, you don’t hear from him again.
I thought using a local team would reduce the stress of moving across the country and make communication easy. Unfortunately it just caused more stress and more money.
I can't say enough great things about The Moving Guys! From the moment I called to get a quote from Lynn to the final box being unloaded, the customer service was absolutely outstanding. The team, Clay, Chris, Jayden, and Tadlee were friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making my move as stress-free as possible. They handled my belongings with care, showed up right on time, and even went out of their way to ensure my belongings were placed where I could easily get to them. The pricing was transparent with no surprise fees. Moving is never easy, but this team made it feel effortless. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Was given wrong information on pricing to move a gun safe. Was told $260 total for two hours. Come to find out, it was $260/hour and a minimum two hours. So we paid $520 to move a gun safe 3 miles down the road. They attempted to call the office lady and she didn’t answer. Had I known, I would have had them move more stuff from my old house to new house. Information was not communicated well. Would not use them again.
We used the Moving Guys for our out-of-state move. They showed up on-time and had our entire home loaded up in a short amount of time. The team was courteous and careful with our belongings. I would definitely use their services again.

Chris, Edgar and Korey moved my furniture from my apartment to my late mother's house today. They were right on time and immediately got to work. There are several decorations and pictures on the walls of my mom's house and the guys were very careful - not one thing got bumped even! I have 2 very old antique pieces of furniture - one an old cobbler's bench with very fragile legs - and they handled everything with such care, nothing got damaged. They were extremely efficient and the move took less time than I thought it would. They were professional and very friendly and pleasant. The office staff is also very friendly, I called and changed my original appointment to have the guys come to my mom's house first and move a treadmill and a couch before they got the rest of my furniture and the gal I spoke with was very accommodating and nice. Overall it was by far the best experience I've had with moving and if I ever need anything moved again I will call The Moving Guys!

I had a limited window to accomplish an out of state move, and Chad and the guys did a fantastic job! The packing ladies were efficient and professional. They packed and the guys loaded on the same day. Despite the weather causing some delays, they arrived when promised, unloaded, set up the furniture, and were on the way again! Highly recommend using The Moving Guys of Rapid City for local and out of town moves!
The guys moving things did a good job, except they broke our expensive TV in transit. The issue is with management. They chose not to call back and discuss unreasonable billing hours and damages to furniture. They chose to let us eat the cost of their damages to our property.
With that, they were two hours late which is an obviously problem. I was very open to a discussion and being very reasonable with my first call to them to discuss the hours and the damages. They left us no choice but to absorb the losses and accept the incorrect billed hours.
We do not recommend this company and will consistently push others to find someone else.
I hired The Moving Guys, even though they were the high bid for my cross-state move from WY to UT, because they were the nicest and most responsive over the phone and I immediately trusted Chad. I had high expectations which were mostly met, and the few hiccups in the moving process were taken care of to my satisfaction. Very nice and responsible workers!
