ELINTREPIDO 2022.05.01

     

9 months for a lease extension and still not finialised. Intially seemed good but once intrim payment was made and lease offer accepted the ball was handed to the freeholder to repsond. Dale handling my case seemed to lose interest. After some emails and telephome calls spanning a couple of months Dale finally responded saying he would chase the other party. One month later I am told Dale has left the firm and now Jacob is handling it. Can't even spell my surname correctly. Very disappointed.

Handled a lease extension for us in an extremely clear, efficient and expedient manner. Jacob Holmes, the Solicitor on the Leasehold Property Team we used, was first class. I am happy to highly recommend him personally. (interestingly enough, the firm of solicitors we normally use turned this piece of work down saying that it was too time consuming and complicated for them to deal with!)

If you are looking for a solicitor to undertake conveyancing in a competent and timely manner, and to communicate with you regularly on progress, then avoid Bonallack and Bishop. They were instructed four months ago, appear to have done very little in that time, while I field repeated enquiries from the buyer's solicitor about B&B failing to respond to their requests for information.

Further update I'd like to add to my initial review below. I needed two urgent updates with the Land Registry Office. On both occasions I contacted Greta Whitaker to see if she could expedite the applications. Greta got onto it both times and was able to successfully expedite the applications. My new house purchase was in danger of being delayed having already exchanged contracts so I'm particularly grateful to Greta for her urgent response and help in getting that sorted. I used Bonallack & Bishop for the purchase of the freehold on my property. I hadn't used them before and so was a little apprehensive given the importance to me of what I was asking them to undertake. Bonalack & Bishop have been been outstanding and talked me through the process, expected timescales and provided regular updates along the way. I'd especially like to thank Greta Whittaker who was the Paralegal handling my case. Greta has been excellent throughout the process, very patient, understanding and responsive. Thank you Greta and thank you to the wider team for helping me to achieve something that had been weighing heavy on my mind.

Initial advice provided by the firm was initially wrong and subsequently corrected when peer reviewed. When I raised my concerns about the fees charged for a poor service the response was not to engage personally but to signpost me to the complaints process. Not the way I would handle a legitimate customer grievance.
