Lovely find Popped in here for a quick bite to eat. The staff were really friendly, as were the locals at the bar. The food was really good and arrived quickly. We sat outside on a lovely decked area overlooking the beautiful scenery. Can’t fault it, we will definitely return when passing.

A Gem in the Dee Valley We visited The Berwyn Arms at the end of June this year, and were very warmly welcomed by the staff and Sarah, the proprietor. Our room was spacious and very nicely furnished and afforded a spectacular view over the Dee valley. All the amenities were there, from the complimentary toiletries to hair dryer and iron. The bed was very comfortable and provided an excellent night's sleep, with good quality linens and fluffy pillows. Breakfast was excellent using good quality local produce. The cold offering - a fruit platter - was amazing. We were so impressed that we went back to the hotel every night of our stay for our evening meal, and were not disappointed. The menu is varied with options to suit everyone, from lighter bites to sandwiches to pub classics and a grill section as well as daily specials. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning.

An oasis of calm on the busy A5 I really loved my spacious room at The Berwyn Arms and didn't want to leave! The simple, stylish decor was exactly to my taste, it was very well equipped and practically designed (plenty of wardrobe space, an iron and ironing board, lots of shelves and hooks in the shower room), the bed and chairs were very comfortable and the bay window had a wonderful view of the wooded Dee Valley, with heritage trains passing invisibly but audibly underneath in a cloud of steam. Considering the location on the busy A5, it's otherwise very quiet, although there was a lot of nooise from the busy bar on one of the nights I stayed. The staff are helpful and friendly and were able to fit me in at short notice for an evening meal.

Very good Fabulous lunch! Not what we were expecting. Only 3 other diners and 4 of us. Not much atmosphere but the food was exceptional. The bell from the kitchen needs lowering a few decibels lol. But overall a nice experience and lovely food! Would definitely go again if in the area

Perfect Night's Stay with our little dog Excellent. Very welcoming. Big party going on when we arrived, but that added to the local atmosphere of the place. Room was beautiful, recently decorated and carpeted, comfortable bed, and the view of the hills beautiful. Nice little table and two chairs so you could sit in the window area and enjoy the view. Excellent evening meal, hot and served promptly. Our little dog was made to feel welcome in all areas. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast, and waitress was friendly. Good location, especially for Llangollen Railway. Would definitely like to stay here again.

Ok Popped here for Sunday lunch after a recommendation. We both had the beef and was a little disappointed to be honest. It was advertised as 48 day matured beef (or something similar) and when it arrived it looked and tasted like a normal silverside beef. Broccoli didn’t appear to be fresh also possibly warmed back up , it didn’t look or taste fresh. Gravy and potatoes were nice though. Had a berry crumble with custard and for £8 it was quite small but tasty. Overall I would say it wasn’t worth the prices they was charging if I’m honest. Lovely spot though just off the A5 with tables and chairs around the back make for a lively view

A Must Stay We pulled in just by chance, but what a true gem we found. The moment you step into the pub you are submerged in the community. Rachel was lovely and welcoming behind the bar, our room was perfect, clean and comfortable with a spectacular view of the River Dee. Dinner was delicious and again the staff just lovely. Sarah welcomed us every morning in the dining room with a full breakfast to send us on our way for the day. Absolutely above and beyond, we can’t thank you enough for making our first trip to North Wales the most memorable.

Absolutely first class Sunday lunch. This is a combination of traditional pub and a lovely restaurant. Although we didn’t eat in the bar (which you can do) that area really is quaint with the most beautiful floor. We had Sunday lunch yesterday and to be frank it was as good as I have had anywhere. Starter, main course and sweets, were absolutely lovely. We greedy pigs left clean plates although my other half couldn’t eat it all so we were kindly given individual doggy treats to take home for the dog. She wouldn’t let me eat it myself but I would have done! Interesting range of beers. Helpful and cheerful and friendly chatty staff and superb service. The view over the valley is absolutely stunning. I must remember next time to ask for a table by the (very large) windows. I have visited here before in summer and the food and service was just as good then. There is a patio terrace outside in summer although you don’t really want to be sitting outside there in early February. I do know that in summer, the Llangollen steam Railway runs along the valley and you can often see steam from the train progressing through the trees or at least, that’s how it appears. A lovely touch. I just love this place.

Christmas dinner As an extended family we opted for finding a place that could accommodate our group of 14 for Christmas dinner.We were slightly nervous-large group,mixed ages.But we found the Berwyn Arms and are so glad that we did.The pub and restaurant were full to capacity but the efficiency of Sarah and the staff meant that our food was nicely presented ,plentiful and delicious.We saved on stocking up our homes with food and drink and all the stress that entails ,no washing up and back to clean and tidy homes!We are grateful to the efficient staff members -most of them young but with a good work ethic,and the proprietors of the Berwyn Arms for going above and beyond on Christmas Day.We shall be recommending to others.Diolch yn fawr iawn i chi gyd.
