This is my first time writing a review for a business. My son participated in the Gateway Program with a matched counselor for his college applications. The 10-week, one-on-one sessions helped him become well-prepared, and by the end of the program, he was ready to submit five applications. Senior year turned out to be much busier than I had expected, so having already completed a good portion of his applications gave him a strong head start. According to my son, the best part of the experience was the high quality of the counselor.
Before choosing B2A, I consulted with several other academies. B2A’s tuition and the support they provide are reasonably priced compared to other options. We’re now starting the program again with a different counselor for my second son. I hope it will help him as much as it did his brother, and we’re looking forward to another great result.

We were extremely impressed with Berkeley 2 Academy. Thanks to their SAT prep, our son significantly improved his SAT score close to 300 points during the summer. I had such a smooth and reliable experience with Berkeley's college application services. Previously, I checked out a few prep centers, and honestly, B2A stood out the most. I was surprised how experienced the counselors were, how much data they had, and the one-on-one relationship they had with their students. My child's counselor knew how to bring out my child's voice into their applications. Those things made all the difference and led to some amazing results for us. As a parent, I also really appreciated their Zoom system. It made communicating super easy and saved me a ton of time.

Horrible place for college ready programs. Instructors are either college students or new graduates who don't have experiences in teaching SAT or ACT. They don't know how to teach or explain problems. Instructors are changed without notice. If you are willing to pay 4 or 5 thousand dollors for their materials which have so many errors or typos, go ahead choose this institute. They will just simply give you the answers and are bold enough to say they don't know how to explain problems.
Berkeley 2 Academy is an excellent facility staffed by a dedicated team of instructors, counselors, administrative staff, and directors. They place a strong emphasis on preparing students for success, creating an environment that helps them achieve their goals. Directors James and Emily bring a wealth of wisdom through their guidance, bringing such value to so many families! I highly recommend b2a for any family!
After seeing many good reviews we decided to put our son here. My son took his SAT prep coaching. Not worth it. We are disappointed with the whole process. For the money they charge, there is no proper focussed attention. They keep conducting tests every 4-6weeks, but don't share what is wrong or identify areas of improvment. They will give the score thats it. After not getting good results, we tried contacting the center. that didnt help. They just talk but no action. We think they are not ready for digital SAT yet. My sons' score didnt improve much (went up by 25pts) and we still had to take classes outside and also buy practice software.

We are sorry to hear that your student felt he didn't see the improvement he would have liked in our course. It seems your student may have been enrolled in our SAT Spring Weekend Class, judging by the time of your review. The average improvement for those students were in line with what we typically see which is 200-400 points. Occasionally there are students who do not score well on the practice tests with us, though we've found that this often is not a reflection of what they have learned from our program, but instead due to extenuating factors related specifically to test taking. Test anxiety is the most common culprit, but occasionally it could simply be that the student was tired during the exam, or that they were not taking it as seriously as they would the real test.
We'd love to speak with you directly to gain more feedback about your student's experience in the class, as well as discuss how he may overcome any struggles with test taking if that is in fact the issue.
