Hi Violette, we are sorry you feel this way. We never turn patients away. We were unaware that you changed your phone number. We were trying to collect your payment for your co-insurance after surgery. We are more then willing to see you in the office. Unfortunately some days the doctors have emergency surgery and we were trying to make you aware. Please call us if you would like to set up a payment plan and see the doctor.

Do not go here for any type of hernia/groin surgery or treatment. There are plenty others. Please do not waste your time. I was a patient for 2+ months, which after dealing with both the doctor and insurance, the doctor told me to go to a doctor in Philly. They stated they are the only practice/doctor that handles this treatment in the area (untrue). I could say more, but I want to be more professional than they are. Good luck.

I have been seeing Dr bucholtz for follow ups and he is very knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all my questions.

My daughter's surgery took place on July 15, 2021, and although we are very pleased with the final results, my experience with the office staff before, during, and after the procedure was not positive. They were unfriendly and unhelpful. Since the end of 2022 until last week, I have been engaged in a dispute with them over a $20,001 bill that they claimed I owed. Despite multiple calls to my insurance providers, they confirmed that they had no record of such a bill. I even had both insurance companies reach out to them directly, but it was futile. The office manager named Lorena has been particularly uncooperative. After weekly calls from me requesting only that they process the bill correctly so that they can be paid for their services, she "blacklisted" me and forbid the staff from speaking to me or my daughter. They disregarded my pleas and eventually sent my case to collections which led me to deal with an unprofessional and aggressive lawyer named Christian McOmber Esq. Once served with legal papers, I immediately contacted them and fought against their claims. Additionally, I had my primary insurance companies send a letter stating that if an invoice existed for this alleged amount owed by me, it should be provided so that payment could be made. To this we received bogus screenshots of invoices being processed that never made it to the insurance companies. It is frustrating how this situation unfolded despite my efforts to resolve it amicably. I was relentless in providing them with information to dispute their claims, I was relentless in clearing my name, I was relentless in my follow through. Only to get an email from Christian McComber esq. that stated that his client would not pursue this invoice any longer. Really? after all you put us through. Needless to say, BE VERY AWARE OF THE DECEIT. PROTECT YOURSELF AND QUESTION EVERYTHING. LORENA, YOU ARE A SORRY EXCUSE FOR AN OFFICE MANAGER, YOU HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND FOR WHAT I SEE NO RECORD KEEPING SKILLS EITHER.

Horrible. I had bariatric sleeve surgery with this office. Honestly I had little to no assistance before or after the surgery. The meetings they are supposed to have never worked from a technology standpoint (I complained even before the surgery, but it was never resolved). I was barely losing weight after surgery and I kept being told it’s just a stall. I only lost like 30 lbs after getting the sleeve during the first few months and in about 1 year I gained it all back. I’m right back at square 1. I’m so jealous of ppl who I’ve seen who have lost 100+ lbs with this surgery. At first I thought this group was a great idea and the start to a new life, but I feel like they took the $$ and ran. Now I’m looking into Monjauro or other more effective treatments as I started at 242 and only got down to 211 (I was told the surgery would get me to about 170, but I never got close) for a very short period of time. Once the surgery happens and even before you are left alone with no guidance. I wish my experience had been different. I had high hopes.I’m embarrassed to even tell ppl I had the surgery and even more embarrassed when the ppl who know I had it see that it failed. Just another failed weight loss attempt yet super expensive (emotionally and financially) .

I had my gastric bypass surgery done last March 31st by Dr. Buchholz from Advanced Surgical and Bariatrics at RWJ Barnabas of New Brunswick. The whole experience from the first appointment to the post-ops were amazing. They made me feel heard and guided me throughout the entire process. The team at RWJ Barnabas was also great. I ended up staying two nights at the hospital and everyone of their team took really good care of me. I feel great and my life has changed completely. The new me is healthier and happier. Thank you Advanced Surgical and Bariatrics for the amazing job you do.

Horrible customer service RJB was given the money pre surgury Advanced knew it and RJB saying I never paid. Staff is terrible, manager is horrible. I have confirmation email from one in their office people confirming I paid and it is a mistake and they will work it out and they did nothing. I have emailed the office 10x regarding this. I believe they are trying to get more money out of me

This review is inaccurate. Our office and surgeons have provided great care and services to you. Unfortunately your issue is with the establishment where you had your procedure performed(not our surgeons) and there is no reason to drag our practice name into this review.

Advanced surgical & bariatrics, is such an amazing group. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff are amazing, if I could rate it beyond 5 stars I will in a heart beat. All the Dr's in office are amazing and thoroughly explain everything in deep detail. Dr. Donaire is amazing and is currently the surgeon taking care of my case. Overall I recommend this office to everyone. Staff is impeccable from the moment you walk in the door, and you can call that office 10x a day and the patience and calmness of the staff is amazing. Love them!

Slaughterhouse with poor follow-up. Bad attitudes and arrogant. Front desk women horrible attitudes and basically presents how the doctors act and how they treat you. Wouldn't recommend it if you need a doctor that cares. Also they're very expensive. That's simply the bottom line.

Advanced Surgical & Bariatrics are just an incredible group of Dr's. I had my gastric sleeve done about 4yrs ago and then 4yrs later (this past Friday) I had to get my gallbladder removed. Everyone from their office to the Robert Woods Johnson medical staff were just amazing. They made me feel extremely comfortable and gave me the best possible care I could ever ask for. Truly incredible team. But more importantly I would like to take a moment to talk about Dr Michael Donaire. Dr Donaire is by far the most professional Dr/Surgeon I know. He's very attentive and takes a much time as you need to have any questions or concerns answered. He's an absolute fantastic person. There's no one else that I would go to. He preformed my sleeve and gallbladder surgeries. So thankful for him. I highly recommend Advanced Surgical & Bariatrics to anyone who is looking for these services

I’m impressed with how helpful and friendly everyone is at this location. I started with a different location before switching to advanced S&B. I didn’t get as much information and level of care at the other location as I have with this one. The doctor, Dr. Keith King, took the time to explain the surgery that would be right for me. Allowed space to answer questions and did not feel judged. The coordinator, Ali, was also incredibly helpful and patient. My mother and best friend spoke highly about this place. My best friend had the gastric sleeve January of 2022. She’s already lost over 100 pounds and always referred others who might benefit to this location. Definitely want to extend that to anyone reading this, too.
