Apotheke Chinatown is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere transports you—moody lighting, vintage apothecary vibes, and an intimate setting that feels both upscale and welcoming. The cocktails are nothing short of exceptional—creative, perfectly balanced, and clearly crafted with expertise and passion.
The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, always ready to recommend something based on your taste. Every drink feels like a unique experience, not just a beverage. It’s the perfect spot for a date night or a sophisticated evening out with friends.
All of the cocktails have some sort of spice, earthy notes like garam masala, nutmeg, smoky, duck fat, smoked rosemary; etc.
Again, this is a 4-star for myself but I can see this being 5-star for people with the acquired taste above. I think they are unique complex cocktails.
I ordered “Napoleons Right Hand” which felt heavy handed on the bitters; my mouth puckered up quite a bit. My second was Melon King Fizz, which I informed the staff I didn’t like gin but she still said to try it still. Even though it was light on the juniper taste because it was eucalyptus infused gin. I still wish I got it replaced with a different base alcohol. I guess I could have returned it but I’m too awkward for that.
The bartenders are very knowledgeable and made us a delicious corpse reviver no. 2. Although it was light on the absinthe.
The ambiance was great. Only very few seating spots even at the bar. There was no bag hooks under the bar.
Still firing on all cylinders, this classic chinatown cocktail bar is not to be missed.
Nice spot to grab a great drink. Tried 3 of them and they all satisfied, it got a bit crowded but it was still nice. Will go back
I’ve seen promotions for here on instagram and had it saved for a while before my first visit. That first visit exceed all expectations, I went in on a Friday, it was pretty packed up still enough space to find somewhere to stand and plot where to find an available seat lol. The drinks were amazing too a lot of first tries but I was not disappointed at all! Definitely would be taking a trip back at some point
É um bar bem interessante em Chinatown, NYC. As noites de terça-feira tem banda de jazz ao vivo, que torna o ambiente muito legal. O drinks são interessantes, mas muito caros.
