I had a terrible experience at this hospital with the lab staff handling my newborn babyโs blood test. The technician appeared very inexperienced and kept inserting needles multiple times, causing unnecessary pain and distress to my baby. Instead of having a trained professional do the procedure properly, they kept calling different staff members one after another as if they were experimenting to see who could manage it.
What made the experience even worse was that they stopped us outside and did not allow us to stay with our newborn during the procedure. As parents, this was heartbreaking and extremely cruel. In the UK, medical staff do not handle your baby without a parent being present, and that basic compassion and professionalism were completely missing here.
This experience was traumatic for both the baby and us as parents. Hospitals dealing with newborns should ensure experienced staff, proper care, and respect for parents during such sensitive procedures.
