******* ***** was professional and courteous throughout the entire moving process. He managed the crew, provided friendly customer service and made the process feel easier than it looked. I've worked with movers before and ******* is very unique. His calm demeanor while executing on the job was exceptional! His hard work was recognized and truly appreciated.
Worst moving company on the planet. Very unprofessional, wont answer calls, wont answer emails, doubled initial estimate. My move was quoted for under $6k and ended up over $12k Driver refused to make left turn into a gate that multiple similar trucks had entered. Ended up charging additional $1,400 to get smaller truck and unload large truck into smaller truck.Customer service is non existent. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY - This is my 2nd review of how horrible a company they are. My parents delivery from Florida was a nightmare!!
The entire delivery of their lives and house, was over 2 weeks late! They had to live in a hotel with 2 dogs, no belongings, and nothing but aggravation arguing with this company. My 84 year old father wound up in the hospital with dehydration from the all the stress of having to live out of a hotel.
We paid them extra to have our goods placed on (1) truck, (1) delivery destination, and a 3 day delivery. They didn't abide to any of that. They did give us a credit of $1000, however, that didn't come close to cover the hotel bill or our expeneses.
The initial moving truck they sent was not big enough to hold all our belongings. We paid over $15,000.00 for this move.
They promised they would send another truck to pick up the remaining items, they sent it 5 days late. The new owner was gracious enough to hold the items.
Somewhere in these 5 days, our $15,000 200lb. copper ballerina statue, piece of art, went missing. They did not load it on their truck (supposedly) and we never received it.
This was completely, American Van Lines responsibilty. They lost it.
The offered us $60 cents on the dollar. $120!!!!! I thought it was a joke.
The 2nd offer just came in at $320.00. It's insulting and disgusting.
They are trying to claim contact obligtaions.
They should be ashamed of themselves for suggesting this.
DO NOT TRUST ANY OF YOUR PROPERTY OR YOUR MOVE with them.

I requested a estimate for my move, then Ashley reached out to help me. I informed them I am unable to do phone calls but will gladly chat via text or email, which I was met with, "due to security reasons I am unable to do that, it only takes a short call to discuss this, what time might you be free?" I replied, I will gladly reach out to the company email for security reasons and once again confirmed I am unable to do phone calls due to medical reasons which I then received a reply from Ashley, "Oh no that's awful! If you're still interested in help. let me know when you're up for a call". I then had to clarify for the THIRD time that I am PHYSICALLY unable to do phone calls as I am hearing impaired and now I did not want to continue this conversation nor get their company's service. I was met with, "Don't worry about it."
I don't usually give bad reviews over small things like this but I also don't appreciate blatant ableism, feeling forced to share private medical information so that I will be taken seriously/actually listened to and rude customer service when all I wanted was a damn quote.
Absolutely terrible company. Their customer service department is rude, rarely returns calls and/or messages, and talks down to people. They also did not fulfill their contract. According to the contract, any items disassembled for the moving process by the movers were to be reassembled upon delivery. The delivery team brought no tools to reassembled, complained that I wanted them to reassemble the items they took apart, and then left 4 items in pieces. The stripped the screws for some furniture while disassembling, making reassemble difficult. They lost pieces of furniture so some furniture had to be scrapped. So glad I paid for them to be moved. They hid boxes they didn't want to carry up in a storage closet downstairs.
My boxes came completely crushed. Furniture broken. Boxes missing, Items broken. The best part? They will only reimburse 60 cents per pound. So my 1 pound $80 keyboard they lost? They will give me 60 cents. In total, I lost about $500 worth of items, and thus far, I can't get anyone from the company to return a phone call.
This company is a total scam.
Everything I have been told by this moving company has been lies. They said pick up day was scheduled for a Tuesday, they showed up on Saturday. Then we have been told several times our items would be delivered by a Monday. Now we have been told not until Friday or Sunday. NOTHING they say is true. We have been in our home a week and still don't have our belongings.

I wouldn’t trust or recommend this company to anyone looking to move. Their moving pricing is very unreasonable and you will feel like you are getting scammed. In addition to that, you run the risk of them breaking your stuff and/or losing items. Worked with Bob and his crew. Do not let him convince you to write him a review for his own business he is trying to run until they drop off your items. Then make sure you assess the damage and lost items. He bugged me into writing a review when they picked up everything versus when the job was actually done by constantly calling and texting me to ask if I had done it. Overall, I am not satisfied with the service and price and wish I would’ve went with a different company.

I have no idea how there are anything but 1 star reviews for Ameican Van Lines.
My family ordered them to move my grandmas stuff from washington to florida and they failed at every step.
For two months they lost everything and forced our 99 year old grandma to live out of her suitcase and sleep on an air mattress.
It would be one thing if they kept us informed and were sorry for their actions but they avoided and stalled for as long as they could.
This is all despite saying they have a weekly huddle from coast to coast. Do not believe that!
We never received any communications that the shipment was delayed or even when it would be delivered until the very last minute
At first, my dad would call weekly then it because daily. When he called he would either be on hold until it automatically disconnected or get "leave a message and we will get right back to you". They never did call back.
In the rare chance he would get ahold of someone the response I would get is "I'm sorry but the dispatcher not available right now. We will call you back when we get ahold of him". They never did call.
When he asked about why we have heard from them he would get "We called you but there was no answer". The trouble with this is that with cell phones have a record of missed calls, and we never received a call. They also said "we emailed you" but we never received email.
I had gotten the point where I thought they had lost the shipment. I thought they put it in a storage unit and lost where they put it. After two months I had become resigned to it being lost forever.
Towards the end I got, "it was on the truck but the driver had some issues so it got delayed another week". Again they never called or emailed us.
Then with calling after 2 weeks of further delay it was finally on it's way. Funny how this seem to happen only after he left a message that we were contracting lawyers to sue them.
Despite them saying we can not reach you by phone when the dispatcher wanted money then the text and email seemed to work fine.
But that text and email did come until the night before delivery was scheduled. We recieved the text (on Friday night at 8 pm) that we had to have $3,400 CASH or Post Office money order by Sat morning at 9 am.
When I said the contract says they accept cc he said only on pick up not delivery. It does not say that on contract nor even if we could get ahold of someone at the company there was no one to answer on Friday night!
It felt like a ransom note "give us cash or otherwise you will never see them again".
The driver would not even unlock the truck to show they had right load until after paid cash. This was generic truck with no markings of any company. The drivers didn't have any uniform or any identification except the right paperwork.
But once paid he wanted me to sign that the delivery was all there before would even open the door.
Upon unloading realized they broke the leg of antique. When I pointed it out the driver responded in broken English that he had things in the truck to fix it. I thought it meant glue and blue tape so would not do further damage. When I returned to the room he had drilled holes in the antique and put silver wood screws. Some screws not even do anything except cause more damage.
We have tried to get compensation for late delivery and damage to the antique I again get "we have tried calling but call does not go through". No record of them calling on our phones. When I asked for number we can call them I get no response.
I will be double checking that this review stays up and is seen because people need to know how bad they really are.
