Would visit again!
A really fun day we had here. Massive mall with tons to do, and easy to get here from Secaucus Junction by taxi or car service. They also have a bus from NJ suburbs and Port Authority that you can take on NJTransit. The water park was expensive, but a lot of fun and easy to spend a few hours in. The lockers were also nice. Would 100% visit again. It really was a lot of fun.
Have shopped, skiied, and eaten here 3x in the past year and have only acclaim. First time was friend's birthday party at Nickelodeon theme park, second time was Dreamworks Water Park, third time and most recent time time was a Big Snow lesson then lunch. There might have been a fourth time only of eating and shopping, but regardless, always the mall offers the top notch experiences of so so many kinds.
Truly there is nearly any and every kind of mall experience from a rotating series to the optical illusions to water and theme parks (quite top notch) to ice skating to a giant and well maintained arcade (oversized games!) to ferris wheel to so much else (no cinema); a large array of eateries big and small, local and national, all types of food, fast to slow; and their expected comfortable shopping from normal thru the highish end (including some retail experiences). Eating is similarly side with multiple dozens of a well chosen array that should satisfy nearly any of the expected audience, with special nods to the Asian choices which represent so much of the spending audience.
Warning that on game days, the parking meters may register $60 not $5 for all 4 decks so you then hit the live remote call to get a live aide who uses the in-machine camera to visually confirm your receipt then remotely change the price there. The correct way is to get a validation bar code from customer service beforehand by showing your same-day receipt. Getting a refund after paying accidentally means the same but emailed to their publicly shown customerservices at americandream email. The 4 decks aren't far apart but choosing the right one on the maps saves some discomfort. Special nods to the Deck A Fl 2 for easy Big Snow access via wide alleyway and Fl 3 for the quietest entrance albeit sky-exposed. Deck A is closed to non-game patrons on game days.
All in all, a stellar mall with a storied history of how it came to be and controversial environmental impact but now that it's here, it's quite a contentful experience.
Mall is pretty big, cool and crowded. Different compared to other malls that are empty or ghost town. There is definitely a different and alive vibe in this mall. I guess that's why its called American Dream because it revitalizes the desired American Dream. It felt that way. There were lots of stores in here that piqued my interest. Will definitely come back again in the future to explore more this place
I was blown away with American Dream Mall. It was so incredibly fun, spotlessly clean, and full of little surprises. A full water park, a giant amusement park, an ice skating rink, mini golf, laser tag, and things I can't even remember. You could certainly spend an entire weekend there and still not get to everything.
My kids had a blast.
We went on a Friday right when the mall opened and it was not busy at all. We didn't have to wait in a line for anything.
Amazing shopping options and food if you don't participate in the other attractions. You can spend a lot of $ and have fun or spend a little and still make it fun.
If you've been considering it, now's your time! I am very judgey of places like this (usually because they're crowded and gross), so for me to be blown away is a huge compliment. It exceeded expectations for sure.
If you are a parent with small kids you will love this mall. Anyone else should avoid this place. My 25 year old daughter and I needed clothes for the change of seasons, and the only department store is Saks. If you are not a fan of Saks, there are very few stores here that you can't find somewhere else. Be sure to not get run over by the Toys R Us choo choo train or the child operated animal scooters, both just being driven randomly throughout the mall. We found a quiet place to eat away from the mayhem at Vinoteca - sit in the restaurant and not in the food court. If you're not a kid or spending time with a kid, go somewhere else
Parking fee is 5$.. It's worth visiting because there's so many attractions all neatly located in this building. So many new businesses have opened here over the past year. Great for all types of families!! Something for everyone in this mall. It's always packed but it's big enough that you have room to breathe
American Dream Mall and Nickelodeon universal
This mall is absolutely huge. It has everything from food to close vehicles or indoor water park Nickelodeon universal a ice skating rink jewelry store shoe stores The works you name it it's got it my first time visiting here and we went to Nickelodeon. I bought tickets for everyone but I wish I would have known that I could have just bought tickets for one child and the oldest could have went in with me but did not have to ride the rides that would have saved me buying additional tickets due to the fact that they thought it was very childlike. But they do have roller coasters and other things that adults can enjoy. I wish I would have had time to go ice skating but I did not I will do it next time overall a good experience
Very Disappointed. Don't waste time going here. First
First things first you get in a drive trough booth you press the button for a ticket and than you enter the Mall . There's high end luxury stores , and to many stores , music is crap . Big disappointment and a tourist trap. Please don't waste your time and money here. This mall is a big big big big Rip off
Definitely worth the trip!
We have been to many waterparks. This waterpark was impressive. Super clean. We went on a non holiday Friday. Hours were 12-7.Parked in lot B. about a 10 minute walk from the car to the waterpark. We got there at 1130am, there was a line already. So we stood in it until about 11:50am. They let you in early to change. But wouldn’t let you in the actual waterpark until 12. That was chaos. We did rent a $25 locker. That process was a little crazy. It’s not exactly self explanatory. So for the first 60 minutes lines were great. We rode lots of rides many times. But it sure did get busy. Recommend riding the toothless trickling ride then. Do it early!!!! By 12 noon for the rest of the day- it was a 2HOUR wait. At first I thought about getting the turbo pass - it’s not necessary unless u want to ride the big rides- toothless, sinkhole slammer. All the other rides only had very small waits. But 2 hours!! That is insane. All the turbo pass folks went ahead of you, so it took forever!!!Also- please be careful! We saw sooo many adults and kids fall since it was so slippery. Wear water shoes - then you have grip! They even let people wear crocs. Your feet will hurt otherwise!!Staff was very friendly. Food was ok. I still like Kalahari better but you should definitely try this place out for a day trip- I can’t imagine the weekend crowds. Yikes.
An Amazing Mall to spend the day!! So much FUN!
I am extremely fond of the American Dream Mall in New Jersey. I typically depart from my residence early on Saturdays or after work and drive to the American Dream Mall from New York City. The mall offers a wide array of activities and events, making it an enjoyable destination. There is an extensive selection of stores, restaurants, and fast-food establishments to choose from. The most notable feature of the mall is the abundance of activities and the overall enjoyment they provide. Among the many attractions are the iMuseum, Tilt, Angry Bird Golf, Nickelodeon Parks, Indoor Water Park, Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland, Big Snow and so much more. The sheer number of activities ensures that there is always something entertaining to engage in.I spend the entire day at the mall, and I find it to be a refreshing escape. The mall is well-maintained, with a pleasant temperature and ample lighting. The only issue I have is that many clothing and technology stores are closed on Sundays due to the Bergen County Blue Law. This law is considered restrictive and has resulted in significant revenue losses for the mall.Despite this, the mall remains open for activities and dining options. However, I strongly advocate for its closure on Sundays in accordance with the Blue Law. By allowing the mall to operate on Sundays, it incurs substantial financial losses and fails to generate substantial revenue. (This is my personal financial perspective.)Overall, the American Dream Mall is an exceptional destination for spending a day, whether solo or with family. I highly recommend it.
Don’t waste your money
We took our daughter (8) for the noon year celebration at the Nickelodeon theme park. Normally the noon year celebration consist of characters coming out dancing and performing for kids to enjoy followed with a spectacular celebration to the noon year. This WASNT the case this year, they had a dj and all he did was ask Trivia questions followed by a 1 second visit of SpongeBob, and balloons. WASTE OF TIME & MONEY
Holiday Rip OFF rules
They usually have an option to buy an individual rides in Nickelodeon, like Paw Patrol playground, we did it a few times, but over this holiday weekend they denied that option. We came there with 4yo and 5yo that cannot do grown up kids rides, and they said we can't buy the tickets to playground only until January 2d. My kids were disappointed since I could not pay $180 for 2 kids for just a playground the they wanted to visit. I was told by the girl working the line there that this info was online, and I went online and couldn't find that info anywhere. And who searches the online rules every time you go there, especially when we came there many times? Very upset and dissipated. Will be going to other indoor playgrounds from now on, and not at this mall.
Foggy Views from the Dream Wheel
A Disappointing ExperienceReview:I recently visited American Dream Mall and decided to ride the iconic Dream Wheel. Unfortunately, my experience was severely impacted by the thick fog that had enveloped the area. While the wheel itself is impressive and the views on a clear day would undoubtedly be spectacular, the dense fog obscured everything. I couldn't see the surrounding cityscape, the Meadowlands, or even the other attractions within the mall. It felt like I was riding a Ferris wheel blindfolded. The staff at the Dream Wheel were friendly, but the fog was obviously beyond their control.Recommendation:I would strongly recommend checking the weather forecast before purchasing tickets for the Dream Wheel, especially if clear views are important to you. If fog is predicted, consider postponing your ride or exploring other attractions within the mall. I would also see if they're willing to give a discount for you to take the ride even if you know you won't be able to see anything. Unfortunately I was not offered anything for my inconvenience and we didn't know that we wouldn't see anything until we got to the top.
Had time to kill waiting to pick up at Newark airport so I thought I'd see what the hype was.
It was about 3 hours till closing on a Tuesday mid December and the place was not very busy at all. Lots of vacant store fronts but they did a nice job covering the entrances with graphics.
Indoor ski area was open and not crowded but the bar next to it was. As far as the rest of the mall barely people.
Had to pay to park but the first hour was free.
Very clean and decorated well for the holidays.
Considering the time of day I am willing not to be too tough on the place as it looks like they care.
