Not at all what I wanted
The photos and product description makes it seem that this is portable. It is portable with batteries. Which is not enough strength to make the work properly. The photos of what is included shows a usb port you could connect to your car. But that will now work for this model it seems. The batteries pack does not make it powerful enough to make it hospital grade. Very disappointed. Bc now I have to be connected to a wall. Now at all what was expected.

Not enough suction for full time pumping
I got this from my insurance for my fourth child. I successfully pumped exclusively for 12 months for my first three children, and this pump did not live up to that demand. My supply did not build up like it did with the other three and my baby quickly started to eat more than I could produce. Thankfully I saved my old Ameda Mya from my third child and am using that now. The Level 12 on the Mya Joy is equivalent to level 5 on the Mya (out of max 10 levels). Game changer! It took a few days but my supply is back up to what I am used to and the freezer stash just started growing. I’m so glad I knew what a pump SHOULD feel like!

Gets the job done
I’ve had this pump for 5 months. I received it as a free pump from my health insurance and have two more that are hand-me-downs from a friend.Overall it gets the job done. The suction is sufficient for most, but if you need super strong suction that will basically suck your nipples off, this isn’t the pump for you. It’s quiet- my husband has commented that he can’t hear it when I’m pumping. You can pump with it plugged into an outlet, or hands-free with four AA batteries. It is NOT rechargeable; it does NOT recharge when you have it plugged into an outlet. The batteries and AC power source are completely separate systems. If you wear it hands-free, it is bulky and cumbersome to wear if you’re trying to do things around the house while pumping. I’ve never timed how many 30-minute pumping sessions I get before the batteries die, but it is at least 4, if not more.My biggest complaint is the device does not tell you how much battery life is left, and when the batteries die, it shuts off without warning.
Great pump!
This pump packs a punch for how little and portable it is. I also really like the timer that is on the display so I always know how long I’ve been pumping in case I forget to check the time. I love that it can be portable, but it does go through batteries fairly quick. I started to use rechargeable batteries for this and always keep extra nearby and in my go bag.

Great when stationary
I got this through my insurance, and it’s been a little tank- I have to charge it maybe every 5 pump sessions, it is small enough to put in a bag, and it’s nice and quiet. When I pump at a computer it’s a dream. However, it is absolutely awful for me when I try to do anything else while pumping. If I bend over at all, milk comes out of the join between the bottles and flanges. If I walk down the stairs it sloshes enough that milk comes out. This last one is a me problem, but half the time I walk through doorways a hose gets caught on a doorknob and sometimes yanks the flange out of my bra. So long as I sit still and upright, everything is great. But in hindsight I wish I’d gotten one of the expensive “do cartwheels and nothing will spill” versions from other brands.
Not Great for Pumping at Work
I only use this pump because it is the one my insurance company offered me. It worked okay for about 2 months (I had to replace valves and flanges during that time). But now the pump just isn't working - I have replaced every part but the pump itself. I am only able to pump about 1 oz after 30 minutes. But my breasts are still full and I am able to manually express at least 2 more ounces. This pump is just not effective.
does not have good suction power, parts are flimsy
I received this pump for free from my insurance. I was given a spectra and a medela pump by friends. This Ameda my joy pump does not work as well as the spectra or medela. The pump power or suction is not good enough. It takes me 20+ minutes to pump and my breasts are still not empty where as with the spectra or medela pump, it take 15 minutes and I am empty. When I called Ameda, they sent me replacement parts and the pump still doesn't work well.I didn't realize how important a good pump would be and I wish I had ordered another pump from the start.

Little disappointing
I used to have the old Ameda Mya Joy, where is cake with a battery pack inside it, to where you could just plug it in and it would recharge. That is now the down fall with this upgrade, yes it’s portable but those 4 AA batteries only last 24 hours. So it’s gonna get expensive to be portable. My older model started to turn itself off, and I was very hopeful this model would be just had awesome as that one. Not really the case.
Not Enough Suction
This pump sucks - and not in a good way. It doesn't have enough suction for me even if I was single pumping. I do not recommend this pump. Especially if you're going to be pumping a lot. I picked this because a co-worker had recommended it and she liked it and I used a hospital Ameda pump after birth and it worked well. Such a disappointment.
Meh
Pros: battery powered & wall adapter, compact for travel, good suction, comes with two 4oz bottles.Cons: cannot save pump preferences, NO PAUSE BUTTON. Comes with 2 flange sizes that are too big (I had to buy inserts for me), does not come with adapter or milk storage bags. Died within a week using battery power.Only 2 modes: stimulation & expression. Cannot pause the machine which is inconvenient! I had to fork our MORE $ to buy flange inserts that fit, the adapter to pump into bags, milk storage bags, and extra batteries.
