I didn't have a good experience with Algopandas. They do respond quickly however, a good product is one where I don't have to talk for support often. Every month there will be a couple of issues. I am dealing with them for 10 months and didn't have confidence to increase the number of lots. Most of the issues are very basic which gives the impression that they are not competent.
I paid for the retainer in January 2024. The first cut of the bot took 2 months to develop ( initial estimate was for couple of weeks ) and after waiting for 2 months, the bot could not even place SL orders. The problem of placing SL went on for another two months. Finally, the developer gave me the error message to figure it out. Strangely, the error message was very well documented. It felt like the devs have not read the documentation.
After 4 months of working with them, if we could have reached a state where things would have been stable, then I would have thought it to be success but that was not the case.
- They updated their databases which led to an outage for a week. They didn't bother to tell that their systems are facing issues. Orders were placed without SL which could have led to significant losses. I had to call them where they casually told lots of clients faced issue.
- The bot has been coded such that it does not keep track of the orders it has placed and depends on the positions available on the broker. So, if you run a bot using algopandas, then you can not run anything else.
With the past experience, I didn't bother asking them to fix which would have taken another 4-5 months and plenty of bugs and issue. It was easier to just open another broker account.
- It took them 4 months to add Sensex symbol to the list in which bot can place order.
- For past couple of months, I am facing an issue where bot can not place order. The underlying issue is very well documented. After doing the R&D and giving them documentation ( which is not my job ), the issue keeps repeating.
My major issue with them is that they don't know the basics of FnO like SL-M are not allowed by exchanges for options. They are also not a full time developers and have another day job.
It will be better to look for another vendors to develop algos. It will be worthwhile to look at AI tools like Claude and copilot if you know a little coding as Claude was able to generate most of the code within a min by using the same strategy document which was given to Algopandas. Their services is definitely not worth 1000$ price tag.
