FRAUD ALERT!
FRAUD WARNING:
Was using Agoda for many hotel bookings. The website had an error where it told me a booking could not be completed and to try again later. Tried several times and finally gave up and booked a different hotel (also through agoda). Then, a few minutes after the second hotel was booked, the first hotel booking went through. After being told it the booking had failed, the booking went through retroactively. I received the confirmation email, cancelled immediately (several days before the booking) and was told that the reservation was cancelled (and it lists on their site as cancelled). But Agoda still charged me $450 for a hotel I never booked and never stayed in. Customer service is a joke. May not even be dealing with an actual person. They refuse to cancel the charge. It's fraud. Legal action to follow. Stay away from Agoda.

WARNING FOR PEOPLE
Booking details were misleading, and when we have arrived, the property either didn’t exist or had no record of our reservation. In another case, the booking was cancelled without any notice. Completely unreliable service. Will not use again and will never recommend anyone

Beware of bait and switch
I've been a member of Agoda for about six months now. Their prices seemed to be good and I worked my way up to being a diamond member. Recently I've noticed if I check a hotel booking without logging in, I get a lower price for the room. Kind of strange since I'm supposed to be a "VIP" and get the best pricing. No, they give strangers better prices than their loyal customers, hoping their loyal customers don't figure it out. I have uploaded the screenshots of before I logged in and after. If you are a member, I highly recommend checking both logged in and logged out.
I won't be doing business with this compnay anymore. They have not only destroyed my trust, they have made it impossible to even report the problem.
Avoid and beware!
I had a disappointing experience booking through Agoda due to what appears to be a bug in their booking flow.
During the reservation process, I entered four travelers. However, when the booking transferred from Kayak to Agoda’s system, two of the travelers were dropped from the reservation without any clear indication that the number of guests had changed. As a result, the final reservation did not reflect what I had entered during the booking process.
I noticed the issue shortly after completing the booking and contacted customer support within a few hours to report the problem. Despite explaining that the issue appeared to stem from their booking system and requesting a refund so that I could rebook correctly, Agoda declined to resolve the matter.
My request was simply to cancel and refund the booking due to what appeared to be a system error that occurred during the booking process. Unfortunately, the response I received relied strictly on the cancellation policy without addressing the technical issue I reported.
Travel booking platforms should ensure that their systems accurately reflect the selections customers make during the booking process. When errors occur, especially when they are reported immediately, I believe companies should work with customers to resolve the situation fairly.
Based on this experience, I would advise others to carefully review the final reservation details before completing a booking and to be aware that resolving booking issues after the fact may be difficult.

Worst booking service I have ever used.
I paid for a Comfort room with a street view but was given an Economy room without a window because the platform sent the hotel the wrong reservation details. Support has delayed the case for two days, offered only small partial compensation in AgodaCash, and then closed the conversation when I requested a refund to my card.
Very disappointing experience — I will not use this platform again.

Agoda cash is a big scam, as when booking and when you are ready to pay there is no window option
Do not deal with Agoda as they are scammers

Worse expericen ever
Agoda – A Masterclass in Incompetence and Customer Abuse. A true Nightamre.
My experience with Agoda was nothing short of disastrous. Worst experience of my life. This company operates with a shocking lack of transparency, professionalism, and basic respect for its customers.
I made the unfortunate mistake of booking my Maldives holiday through Agoda without thoroughly reviewing their international reputation beforehand. That mistake cost me thousands of dollars. After this experience, their abysmal 1.9 Trustpilot rating makes perfect sense—if anything, it is undeservedly high. A 0.9 would be too much for them
The problems began immediately. Agoda’s website is poorly designed and borderline dysfunctional. Once information is entered, it cannot be edited, leading to repeated failed payment attempts through no fault of my own. After multiple tries, payment was finally processed.
The next day, I discovered that Agoda had charged me USD 2,000 more than the price displayed at checkout. As if that were not bad enough, they also added an additional 5% charge for currency conversion, with no clear disclosure or warning during the payment process. This is misleading at best and exploitative at worst.
Attempting to resolve this issue through customer support was a complete waste of time. Their online chat system is a revolving door of agents who clearly do not read case histories. I was forced to repeat the same explanation over and over again for hours, only to receive generic, meaningless responses. Phone support was equally useless—no accountability, no solutions, no escalation.
Then, in an astonishing move, Agoda unilaterally cancelled my reservation on January 26, claiming there was a problem with payment. This claim was blatantly false. My credit card company confirmed that payment had been successfully processed, and I had already received a reservation confirmation directly from the hotel. Even more concerning, Agoda explicitly stated that cancellation could not occur before January 28, yet they cancelled anyway.
This cancellation happened after I had already purchased airline tickets for my entire family, causing immediate and irreversible financial loss. Anyone familiar with travel planning knows that hotel prices skyrocket when bookings are cancelled at the last minute—particularly for destinations like the Maldives. Agoda’s actions left us with no realistic alternatives and ruined our holiday time.
No valid explanation was ever provided. No sincere apology. No accountability. The only conclusion one can reasonably draw is gross mismanagement or deliberate overbooking in pursuit of higher profits—either way, the customer pays the price.
Agoda’s behavior demonstrates a complete disregard for consumer rights and basic business ethics. This was one of the most infuriating and costly customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I strongly urge anyone considering Agoda to think twice and book elsewhere unless you are willing to risk your money, your time, and your travel plans. Just read the reviews

Run from this site. Don't use... EVER!
ORIGINAL POST: Listen to me and don't get sucked in by the low prices of this sorry excuse of a booking site... DO NOT USE THEM... EVER! There is a reason why this low rent org that operates from Singapore and Bangkok and has a Trust Pilot rating of 2. If you have ANY issues or problems, they will ignore helping you. Once they get your money, they are GONE! The paltry $1 or two lower price isn't worth it. You will regret using them... go to Expedia or another site that has a better reputation. Always remember, you get what you pay for. You have been warned.
UPDATE 07/02/26: It only gets worse people! The day after being told my reservation modification was not allowed, I was contacted by the property and informed I must pay a deposit at check in, then HOPE it is returned after I've paid it. This is the latest scam being done by many rental car and lodging companies. They charge you a "deposit" which forces you to track and remember to contact them later if they don't returned it. When they don't return it, you are forced to call and fight with AI bots or customer service agents who ignore you in am effort to get them to return THE MONEY THEY STOLE! And if you don't call, they keep it. I can't be any more clear, do not give this company access to your credit card or you will regret it. I will continue to repost this review to alert as many people as possible. RUN AWAY!
UPDATE #2: I was forced to threaten these scammers with negative follow-up posts to travel review site posts to force them to finally agree to provide a refund. And get this, they only agreed to return a PORTION of the CC charge, BUT, not in a credit back to my card, rather in AGODA CASH, which would force me to remember I had a credit with them and use it at a later date AND book thru their scammy website AGAIN! They actually tried to charge me a cancellation penalty fee for their own bait and switch nonsense! UNBELIEVABLE! I again insisted on going nuclear with my alert to others and only then did they finally agree to return all of my money. Lastly, the other underhanded thing they do is reply to reviews like mine and make it appear like there's nothing wrong... apologizing... or trying to turn the tables on the reviewer, as though it's their fault. If you don't have the patience or fortitude that I do, or want avoid the hours of hassles I dealt with, all due to their lowball $1-$2 discounts from the next highest travel site quote... AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! You will regret it if things go south.
Payment taken for a non-existent reservation, no resolution for days
I made a hotel reservation through Agoda. My payment was successfully taken and the booking status shows as confirmed in Agoda's system.
However, the hotel has clearly confirmed to me that they do not have my reservation in their system at all. In other words, Agoda took my money for a reservation that does not exist on the hotel's side.
For several days, Agoda has been delaying the process by repeatedly sending the same "please wait 48 hours" message, without providing any real solution. Despite multiple follow-ups and clear written confirmation from the hotel, the issue remains completely unresolved.
With my check-in date approaching, this situation has created serious uncertainty and stress. Due to Agoda's failure to deliver the service I paid for, I have initiated a chargeback with my bank and started legal procedures.
This experience is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when booking through Agoda.
Avoid Agoda!
Avoid Agoda like the plague!
I've lost over $700 simply because I couldn't make contact with a human to uncover a booking error. I've also lost many hours of my life and experienced acute stress, anxiety and frustration in trying to get justice, this far to no avail!
Avoid Agoda like the plague! They don't deserve your business.

Terrible, avoid avoid avoid
I have booked lots of times with Agoda and when the hotels are genuine it os wonderful. However, we book a 5*luxury apartment and the partner hotel had been messaging all day, when we landed we were told A/C was broken and needed to book somewhere else. I went online to see they had plenty of good apartments, so said this. Well, we were put in a terrible apartment, furniture broken, blood on pillows, holes in walls, open water bottles given, the list was extensive. Took pics. Asked for a partial refund and was refused. Sp they said they would refund, refised to give cash and said I would get payment on 48hours. I didnt. They then messaged me saying manager had emailed regsrding refuns, they hadnt.
I contacted Agoda through chat, with all pics, whatsapp convos and booked another hotel for same dates. I kept gettong same respo se, nothing they could do until partner hotel confirm they cancelled due to cancellation policy. I explained I had proof. Kept being met with wait 48 hours, 3 times, then I was asked to do their job n contact hotel, they ghosted me too.
Then called customer care, was laughed at by staff, put on hold for 15 minutes, was asked to email all evidence again.i explained I had already given details in chat. He read this. After 45 mins I was offered 10% of accomodation as a sorry, I said I would accept that and full refund. He said 15%. I said no I wanted a refund, then he said full refund and 15% (90 mins later), I asked for it in email.he sent an email and it was only refund and as Agoda cash on my account. No mention of 15%. He hung up on me as soon as he sent email. It asked if I accepted it and replied no. I wamted it back to card and 15% compensation for all trouble (finding new accom, paying to get there, time o chat & calls) I then got an email saying they retracted this offer due to cancellation policy and not followed and hadnt spoken to hotel to confirm.
I called again and got a lovely, kind caring lady who immediately tried to solve issue and was extemely apologetic. She gave full refund vut no compensation as previously agreed. It was my case manager that said this.
Its also important to note that I asked for a manager and complaints in chat and on the phone as it was terrible customer service and very frustrating. They are for partner hotel, not being cancelled but do not care when their partner hotels give disgusting accomodation and ghost them, the customer gets punnished, its was a very poor customer experience. All it wpuld have taken is an instant refund as all evidence was provided in 1st instance, it did not need to drag on for weeks

Deceptive airfare advertising
Wish I could give it minus 5. Worst experience ever about airfare. Before booking it never informed me that I wouldn’t get the E-ticket confirmation neither the ability to manage my booking online for seat, meal, luggage and checkin online. In fact, the confirmation email stated all those valid but Agoda agent still tried to ignore that. Because of that issue, I was not able to manage my 2 flights (each for 2pax) online and purchase luggage and forces me to do so at the airport which costs much much more although the confirmation says checked bag is included but it actually is not. This deceptive airfare advertising is unacceptable. And Agoda handling is even worse that keeps ignoring the terms in the confirmation email stated, keeps ignoring to answer the questions and goes circle and circle and yet ignoring responsibility which wastes so much of my time. Don’t ever book with them again especially airfare if you don’t want to become a next victim.

Agoda - A Cheater and Fraudster
Agoda should NOT be used anywhere. In countries like India, Agoda will steal your money lock, stock, and barrel; do a phony scam investigation; and then, SURPRISE, will blame you!
This company is the lowest of the low. Their tagline? "All cheats, thieves, and fraudsters of the world unite! You must join us to learn how to Cheat and Run Ponzi schemes".
Here are 2 examples.
CASE 1: Lemon Tree Premier, Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. This hotel DOES NOT exist. It's most certainly not at the address on the listing. Listing address is incorrect with a mismatched address and pin code.
It's nowhere on the Lemon Tree official website, the listing has no phone number to call, sending email doesn't get any response, and clicking the hotel location on AGODA shows you a location in the middle of a paddy field in a remote village that has only a few two-story buildings. On Dec 15,2025 night we spent over three hours driving to this non-existent hotel and returning. Agoda should reimburse me $1000 for the time and expenses. Agoda has finally removed this hotel from its website but not offered any compensation.
Case 2: Parasnath Hills Hotel, Chetrudih, Jharkhand.
This hotel DOES NOT exist. It's most certainly not at the address on the listing. Listing address is incorrect. AGODA shows you a location in the middle of a mountain valley in a remote village that has only a few two-story buildings.
The listing has a phone number, and if you call it, the gentleman says that he gets calls like these regularly and has asked Agoda several times to refund, so Agoda has been playing this game for quite some time now. On Dec 27,2025 night we spent over five hours driving to this non-existent hotel and returning to another city 70 km away for the night stay (Dhanbad, Agoda booking #***********). Agoda's greed keeps FAKE, non-existent hotels on their website so they can illegally charge customers and make commissions. Perhaps Agoda is using such listings to launder money.
Because of this, I couldn't continue my pilgrimage and had to drive over 250 km in 2 days that I could have avoided.
I demand that (1) Agoda refund this FAKE hotel stay in full (booking #***********), (2) Agoda refund the entire replacement stay (booking #***********), (3) Agoda reimburse me $2000 for the time and expenses and disrupted pilgrimage, and (4) Agoda remove this hotel from their website IMMEDIATELY. As of writing this, Agoda has neither refunded, nor offered compensation, nor removed this hotel from its website, so beware booking any hotel in Jharkhand with Agoda.
Absolutely terrible
Terrible, terrible, terrible! If I could give one star, I would! Firstly- when moving from the general Google search of hotels in am area for a specific date to the Agoda website, they will change the dates that you chose to search - be sure to triple triple check bc once booked they will not let you change dates!
Then the real kicker - booked a room thru Agoda, received the confirmation, and then try to contact the hotel for some specific inquiries, only to be told that the hotel does not accept any reservations from Agoda! Customer service is no help at all, the only thing they can say is, oh we can cancel the reservation for you, but no refund. Absolute scam of a company.
BEWARE! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!
They accepted my credit card payment and then, a week before my trip, they sent me an email saying that my card was declined. I went to the website and tried 3 DIFFERENT credit cards. None of them would go through. I checked the hotel and it was "sold out". I called their customer service and after waiting for 40 minutes, someone tried to charge the cards again over the phone but was "unsuccessful". I was on the phone for an hour. I had an extra day to figure it out before they would cancel. I told the person on the phone that this sounded like they overbooked the hotel and now they're not giving me access to pay... within a minute, while still on the phone, I got an email stating that my booking had been canceled and that I had done it "on the day of my booking" (3 weeks ago); I asked for a supervisor but none were available. The guy on the phone said that the website "automatically" cancelled my reservation due to lack of payment. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Cancelled booking
I booked an apartment through Agoda in August for a December stay over the New Year period and paid £1,219.56 in advance. All of these issues occurred less than a week before we were due to travel for New Year, which significantly added to the stress and urgency of the situation.
Without my request, the booking dates were repeatedly changed, and I was eventually informed by the property owner directly that they do not work with Agoda at all and could not host me. Despite this, Agoda continued attempting to “fix” the booking by changing dates back and forth, even though the property had clearly stated it was unavailable in December.
With travel imminent and New Year accommodation extremely limited, I was forced to book alternative accommodation at a much higher cost to avoid being left without a place to stay.
Unfortunately, the customer service experience was extremely poor. I spent over 7 hours on the phone attempting to resolve this issue. During these calls, staff were often dismissive, appeared incompetent and poorly informed, and at times made me feel as though I was not being believed, despite providing clear written evidence from the property owner. The lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic people skills only added to an already very stressful situation.
The issue was further complicated by:
• Conflicting information from customer service
• Refunds issued in incorrect amounts
• Compensation initially issued as vouchers without clear consent
• Repeated delays and the need to explain the same situation multiple times
Eventually, my original payment was refunded and a 20% goodwill compensation was paid; however, I was still left approximately £220 out of pocket, which I accepted purely to bring an end to the stress and time lost dealing with this matter.
This experience highlighted a serious lack of coordination between Agoda and the property, poor internal communication, and inadequate customer protection when accommodation cannot be honoured — particularly at short notice and during peak travel periods.
I would strongly advise anyone considering booking accommodation through Agoda to double-check directly with the property and be extremely cautious when travelling during busy periods such as New Year.

Poor, Unwilling to Help
I have never experienced such poor customer service. Theres absolutely no willingness to help. I dont know how only 1 adult ended up on my booking. I have requested 2 adults and 1 child (3 years) who will be traveling with me. I was told that because of system constraints, they are unable to help me? I had even contacted the hotel directly and they told me i need to request Agoda to send an email to them with the updated number of guests. Thats all that was needed. This shows absolutely no regard for customer satisfaction from Agoda. I will be raising awareness on EVERY single platform i can about this type of customer service

Bad flight booking experience
I booked a round trip from Singapore to Melbourne and back from Melbourne to Singapore for a family trip. The screen display didn't show any stop over (happy to provide a screen cap to show my claim). I only found out there will be a stop over at bali for 3-4 hr on my return trip. I am puzzled and felt cheated for the stop over. Furthermore both flights to and fro, my family were not seated together. This is totally different from other online booking service like which I have no above mentioned problem. My experience for this trip with Agoda has left a very very bad impression of their flight booking services.

Stay Away!
I showed up at the hotel that I booked, but they had alledgedly sent me a payment link (that I never received) so I couldn't get in as the entrance was a gate with a code pad and a ripped phone number. I had given my credit card at the time of booking, and the phone number on the booking confirmation was out of service. I have the photos and other proof that I was there, but the hotel marked me as a no-show, Agoda took their side even though I proved I was there and couldn't get in, and was not able to get my payment refunded as a result. Stay away. Do not book through Agoda!
