AFA STORES, STAY AWAY!!!!! Ordered online, was told the item was on back order. This went on for weeks. I grew tired of waiting, called to cancel, was told my cancellation would be processed. A hour later not only was the item in stock, but it had also shipped without them notifying me as they promised, I was told they couldn't cancel. They wanted to charge me a ridiculous return, restoking fee. When the item was shipped FedEx was used, now their so called "shipped team" isn't in my area and hasn't been for weeks. I filed complaints with the BBB, NJ State Attorney General all of which Afa Stores have refuser to respond to. I also have a dispute active against them with my bank. Stay away from Afa Stores, they're dishonest, customer service is terrible.

DO NOT do business with these folks This vendor is NOT reputable. I (attempted to) purchase 2 simple items a black leather recliner and a black leather sofa. Their website said BOTH were in stock and I should expect delivery within 2-weeks. This was sorely NOT the case. They immediately shipped the recliner (1/2 of the order) and then shared with me the sofa would likely ship in some 7 weeks later. The recliner showed up and was clandestinely left on my front porch - NO Installation / Delivery service I had paid extra for. I got this huge box I had to wrestle off the porch into the living room myself. When I asked why their website indicated both items were in stock when they subsequently informed me the sofa was 2 months delayed, they had no answer. I explained the order was a 2-item order, not a ship one and then whenever you get around to it ship the 2nd sofa order - they had no response. I told them I have a useless huge box in my living room which supposedly had a recliner in it but no one to unpack and 'install' it (both I had paid extra for) they again had no answer. I said - if you cannot deliver both I want neither. Cancel this order you had told me you had in stock which you apparently did not have in stock. They then said - well... we already shipped the recliner - I was like 'So?' and they said I would then need to pay some $300 to return the damned unboxed recliner to then get the $75 refund difference from the cost of the recliner itself and their ridiculous re-stocking and shipping return fee. This was absolute bait-and-switch. These sons of bitches sold me a bill of goods they could not deliver and are now charging me through the nose the cost of the purchase of the returned recliner. These people suck - NO ONE should do business with them. They are crooks.

NO... Never again! Awful... just Awful. DO NOT BUY from this company! This company drop ships their merchandise from the manufacturer and they don't have a physical building. When items are drop shipped (via Fedex), the package isn't packed according to FedEx standards... no foam, bubble wrap or secondary box. It's now January 23, my order was placed on December 4 showing shipping within 1-3 days. First table arrived shattered to pieces. I've been told repeatedly that my replacement table will be shipped in a week. Still no table! Customer service (not based in the US) is rude and will not listen or offer help. I'm told that I need to send claims an email (which I've done several times), and it takes 5 business days for a reply. So... it takes a week to get a "one line" answer -- the answer is always that the table will ship this week. I send another email, wait another week, and get the same answer. I've asked to cancel the order with no luck. BBB complaint went unanswered.

Customer Service Poor Great pricww. That is where it stopped. Ordered it on March 6. Was ready to ship about six weeks later. We were away. Scheduled it for June 15. Arrived unannounced on July 24th in driveway. Chair not what we were expecting. Requested a return. Knew their return policy, restocking fee, delivery fee. Back and forth, back and forth. Finally sent me the cost of shipping, nearly $1000, yet online, shippers, UPS, FedEx, transit companies, just under $300, but you have to use their shippers. Questioned the amount, no response. Radio silence. They quote you a ridiculous shipping price, so you won't return it. These guys are competing with Overstock, Wayfair, Bed Bath and Beyond. With this customer service, going to be hard. Again, great price, all downhill from there.

Update to review I had previously left a review. Not sure how to update that review so I am leaving a new one. My original issue was bought a table and four chairs. All chairs came fully manufactured assembled two per box. Not even 30 days of having the table and chairs one of the chairs broke then the following day another chair broke. I emailed customer service they sent email to claims department. Originally claims department was reporting that there is nothing they can do due to Liberty’s warranty policy about not adding screws. However, they came fully assembled from Liberty. The update I have is effective today 7/2/25. After emailing back and forth a few times I received two replacement chairs for the ones that broke. They still look like the defective ones that broke, but will attempt at sitting on the chairs and hopefully they will hold up. I will add the customer service department and claims department were prompt in communicating with me appropriately. I will update “stars” to a three based on easy to order and communication with customer service and claims department was prompt and appropriate interactions. Plus, the table is nice and has held up nicely. The only concern I have is if the two replacement chairs and other chairs will hold up.

Bad bad bad HORRIBLE customer service!!!! Buyer beware. Ordered a product 3.29.25 w/white glove delivery service. Their carrier did not deliver within the promised timeframe. We requested to cancel multiple times and they promised more than once to have a supervisor call me - which still hasn’t happened. Their employees are rude, argumentative, unprofessional and uncaring. After I filed a payment dispute, Their delivery company - AM TRUCKING - was also told not to deliver it as we are no longer accepting it. Their manager-Daniel- stated that he understood and it would not be delivered.They then gave no notice on a 225 lb item and illegally dumped it on my lawn. Not porch or walkway, but on our grass. Now (still no communication from the management because Erica is not in the office very often) they want $530 to ship it back and another $132 restocking. One crappy company working with an even worse one to scam you!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE This store is horrible to deal with. I had placed an order and canceled it two days later. They said unless I had proof that I still was liable for the order. I did the cancellation on their website and it showed it as being cancelled. They told me I would have to pay $400+ if I didn't take the order was was almost half the purchase price. I never heard anything from them saying they had even received my order and after speaking with someone in customer service they said they would be sending me an email detailing our conversation which two weeks later still has not been received. The product was delivered but the delivery company said they didn't take it further than just inside the door. The delivery company was supposed to contact me with and time and then again when they were 30 minutes out. I never heard from them they just showed up. They dropped part of the order of the hand dolly because it was not secured. I told them I wanted to inspect the order before they left and they said that wasn't their job. STAY AWAY FROM AFA STORES.

Horrible Customer Service and Shipping DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM We ordered and L Shaped desk in September. When it was to be delivered at the end of October, we were told by the trucking company AM Trucking of a 4 hour window in which they were going to deliver no flexibility or way to work with us at all on the delivery. The delivery location is a 3 hour round trip at a vacation home and required me to take a half day off work. I showed up and they delivered the desk. Half of the desk was badly damaged and I refused delivery. The trucking company left the undamaged half of the desk at the house and despite the white glove delivery we paid for they left all of the trash for both the portions of the desk which we paid to get rid of. AFA furniture contacted us several days later to say they would order a replacement section to the damaged portion of the desk. We patiently waited and in November I took another half day off and half of a tank of gas to receive the portion of the desk with no flexibility on the delivery date or time. When it showed up it wasn't even the same model of the desk. Entirely different color and hardware. At this point I notified AFA to refund our money and pick up the remaining portion of the desk at our convenience this time. After 5 days of no response from AFA we finally were able to engage in a discussion with them at which point they agreed to process the refund. A little over a week went by and we did not see a refund and we reached out again only to five days for a response where they said it had been processed. It still did not go through and we reached out again to be told that they did not process the refund and will not until they pick up the remaining portion of the desk. We told them as we had several times that we will be happy to be there for them to pick up the desk but they need to call us and ask us what is convenient for pick up. Two weeks go by and we get a no reply email from AM Truck on 12/26 that they are picking up both portions of the desk (note we refused delivery of the second portion both times) on 12/30. It was the holidays and we did not confirm delivery as we were unable to meet their demand for a time and date. We immediately reached out to AFA on 12/26 that we were not available and the description of the pick-up is wrong it is only one item. We also told them we would be at the house on 1/17 and they could pick it up then without incurring potential court and back charges for our time and gas because of their errors. On 12/30 AM Trucking reached out to tell us that they were coming up to pick up the item and we told them we were not there and to pick it up on 1/17 they noted it and said OK. On 1/2 we finally heard back from AFA 5 days after our email that they will correct the pickup paperwork but no acknowledgment of working with us on a date and time for pick up. We responded again telling them that someone from either AFA or AM trucking will need to call us ahead of time to work out a schedule that works for us or they can meet us in court for the expenses we have incurred. Again, no response from AFA on this matter and on 1/9 we received and automated No Reply email that AM Trucking will be there on 1/13 for pick up. Again, I am unavailable to take the afternoon off and even if I did it would be at the cost to AFA. I run an engineering business and short notice and no coordination will not work. This has been explained to AFA many times. Once again, we responded to AFA with no response as usual. We have asked multiple times that AFA or the trucking company call to schedule the pick up at our convenience this time since I am already out 8 hours of work at $150/hour plus a tank of gas because they cannot get it right. All we have asked is a phone call and coordination for the pick-up. They are 100% at fault with not providing the desk as ordered and we gave them multiple opportunities to do so. We have since paid more for a similar desk from a company who has been much more responsive and helpful.

They misleadingly claim that their items are in stock and will be shipped within 3-5 business days, while promptly charging your credit card. However, the reality is quite different. The items they advertise as available are actually on backorder and won't be ready to ship for at least 6 weeks or more.I had the unfortunate experience of ordering a dining room table that was supposedly in stock and ready to ship. My credit card was charged immediately for the purchase. To my dismay, the very next day I received an email notifying me that the item I ordered was actually on backorder. The estimated shipping date provided was January 30th, a staggering 6+ weeks from the date of my order.What makes matters worse is that, despite the item being on backorder, the website still displayed it as in stock and ready to ship. This is a clear case of false advertising and reflects extremely poor business practices.

DO NOT SHOP FROM HERE This is truly the worst customer service I have ever received - Please do not buy from this company and save yourself alot of headache- They cancelled my order and cost me so much money and take no responsibility for it. I spoke with Rosa, their manager at length who admitted several times that their company made the mistake but yet, was not willing to help.

Buyer Beware - AFA Doesn't Care Placed order on 12/2/2024. Called 12/6 to get delivery estimate . Was informed by "Sherry" that order would not even process until next week and then 4-6 weeks for delivery. I asked, hypothetically, On 12/16/2024, received email that the order was canceled without my request. Sherry expressed total indifference to the situation, was not the least bit concerned about losing the sale, nor about getting another in a long line of bad reviews. I would not do business with this company. In my experience they do not appear to be upfront, honest, or clear in their communication.

These people are essentially thieves from everything I've read. They mark a coffee table for example at $543 for the whole year. Then when Black Friday comes, they mark up the price to $700, and make it "30% off" to be $550. So basically it never goes on sale. Their customer service is also atrocious.
