Signage for international travellers are very poor. Boarding card shows gate 18. After security check, can see big sign gate10-14, then gate 19 - but couldn't see the sign gate 18. After walking forward and backwards searching gate number 18, didn't get anywhere. Happen to see 2 pilots, asked them, was told they're not sure as they're only for domestic flights. Finally after a long while found a person to ask. Was told we have to look for signage " International departure" then down the stairs once see the signage, once down there will see immigration, once through immigration then can follow signage there and then to find gate number 18.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??!!!!!Why no signage After security checks pointing" International departure immigration ". Why no signage showing gate 18?? Signage only there when you get there after asking numerous people. How to expect overseas travellers to know that gate 18 is hidden somewhere. Very disappointed and compare to other international airport, we are still very behind. Shame

I recently travelled through Adelaide Airport for a domestic flight, and it was a very positive experience. The airport is extremely clean, neat, and well-maintained. Even though it was the busy Christmas season, everything felt organised and smooth.
The staff were helpful, friendly, and always ready to guide passengers. The atmosphere was festive and cheerful, with beautiful Christmas decorations that made the whole place feel warm and enjoyable. I felt very comfortable and satisfied throughout my time there.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Adelaide Airport — clean facilities, supportive staff, and a pleasant environment. I truly enjoyed my journey. Highly recommended!

nice airport, i have nothing bad to say about it! it's pretty close to the city, and you can take a taxi/uber, but i walked from here to the city (~1hr 40 mins) since i wanted to kill time, didn't have a too-heavy bag and explore adelaide a bit.
i don't fly very often, so don't know how this airport stacks up compared to others, but i managed to navigate it solo and having only flown once before, so i figure it can't be that bad! charging ports (usb C & standard power plugs) are available for free and there are many benches, so i could sit and do some work while i waited.
and of course, delightful christmas emu decorations :)
Adelaide Airport is compact and highly functional, which makes it efficient for greeting interstate or international business visitors. The arrivals process is predictable and well structured. To maintain a professional schedule, pre-arranged transport is always useful. Searching “Cars on Demand” online provides quick quoting and access to an organised booking workflow, helping maintain a smooth itinerary.

When returning from South America, I was detained for over 3 hours while they went through my phone. I asked what they were looking for- drugs, child porn, weapons or terrorism..... Yeah well i have none of that and i was open about everything.
I have no criminal record, no history of anything. 3 hours? Everyone thought i had been jailed or missed the flight. How is 3 hours reasonable? Is it their first day on the job? The questions about relationships, girls, and work were beyond unprofessional. I love a joke, but after nonsense and incompetence for 3 hours, my niceness is over.
IF i had have responded like any other human, i know my behaviour would have escalated and made the situation worse. You basically just have to sit there and wait for the slow, brain numbing violation to be over with.
Have filed a formal complaint.
