We called on an early Friday evening and spoke with Mark about an issue we were having with our front door. He was prompt, kind, and incredibly responsive. Mark took the time to understand the problem, offered helpful advice, and even suggested alternative options to best suit our needs. Exceptional service from start to finish. Thank you! Sadly adding this follow up… a month later the lock failed, late on a Saturday night. The 24hr emergency line was forwarded to voicemail, but thankfully a neighbour helped me break in. While they came back Monday to fix the lock, they are not covering additional costs incurred, so I’m currently out £50. Suggest to go with another company that covers all costs should you encounter a problem. — Great service, quote within 5 mins & they arrived within 24hrs Jamie was really helpful, gave options & completed job in 30 mins - thanks!

Mark did a fabulous job of searching out a replacement lock mechanism for our rear door and it now opens and locks better than when new. Very knowledgeable and professional. Charges were reasonable. Highly recommend.

🚨🚨🚨 Absolute bodge job - so much so I’d have to call it a scam. Please be sure to avoid this company I hate to do this as I know that bad press can harm people’s income, but we have been absolutely scammed by Mark, the director of Abbey Locksmiths. I have to share my experiences as i don’t want anyone else to experience what we have. The screenshots tell most of the story but: Mark came to fit a new lock on our stern hatch, plus fix our side hatch lock. Now, this took weeks to sort as he kept cancelling or turning up without full equipment needed, but we understood that things happen so gave grace. However we have felt increasingly concerned now we are mooring in London as we have gone a period of time with doors that don’t lock. Anyways, mark finally finished the job earlier this week. Late Thursday night (just days after the lock was fitted) I turn the key, it really gave a lot of resistance, I turned a bit harder, and SNAP! The key breaks. As you can see on screenshots, Mark takes no accountability for this and acts like I’ve somehow bent the key purposely? I repeatedly ask him to explain how anything other than the lock being too stiff due to being fitted poorly could explain the key snapping. We ended up getting an emergency call out as he wouldn’t even send someone to help me get home and have somewhere to sleep for the night. The company who came were so helpful, and immediately identified many issues with the fit that Mark had done. The biggest of which being that the bolt of the lock was not lined up properly so rubbed very much onto the metal of the hatch. This explains why it’s been so hard to twist the key. The lock was also positioned poorly meaning even when we locked the hatch, you could quite easily get your fingers round the door frame and with some strength you’d break in easily. As you can see from screenshots mark takes no accountability and makes no effort to offer refund, repair, etc. THEN! To top it all off. Today I go to lock our side hatch that he also allegedly fixed, and realised 1) there is one screw missing and one loose and 2) even after tightening and replacing these screws, the lock doesn’t lock! Again nothing but dodging the question from Mark. I’m so disappointed So £270 to Mark and £400 to emergency call out. I’m so gutted to have wasted so much money especially as money is so tight for us right now being new to boating and having lots of unexpected costs. Please avoid Abbey Locksmiths at all costs. I wish I could do something to get this money back..

We found Jamie of Abbey Locks to be the embodiment of good service. He was knowledgeable, prompt, courteous, pleasant and competent. He advised us well based on our brief and exceeded expectations. We will definitely use Abbey again and recommend them to anyone.
