BTW I live in Dallas, TX not Canada, no ide why Yelp thinks otherwise. 4change energy I signed up for a $.12/kwh plan. Actually they charged me $.18/kwh the first two weeks, then $.22/kwh for the next 3 weeks. By the time I got switched to another provider my 2400 kwh of usage was billed at $760. And it gets better, they offered a 60 day cancellation period without any penalty which they refuse to honor. I did transfer out within the 60 day window and they are still attempting to charge that early cancellation. They are threatening me with collections. They are liars, they offered me a settlement which was still way above the $.12/kwh promised and I paid that settlement agreemet, but now they refuse to credit my account for the rest of the balance. They are calling me demanding the rest reneging on their agreement with me. My escalation emails to PUC about them are answered by some pompous mumbo jumbo talking fool who tells me "that is what you signed up for". Horrible, this is a total scam. They are crooks and liars. Disgusting.

4Change energy is the worst company ever. I was a loyal customer for years until moving to a city where they do not service. They asked me for a utility bill as proof of me moving and then said that wasnt sufficient proof then they asked me for proof of purchase for the new address so I sent them a mortgage statement and they said that wasnt enough!!!! After arguing with them for some time they accepted the mortgage statement and are now taking 4-6 weeks to refund me a termination fee of $300!!!! FOUR-SIX WEEKS!!!! Refunding by mail !!!! And theyll probably send it to the old address cause theyre so ignorant!!
4Change Energy uses deceptive advertising thru Compare Power. They show one single rate of 11 cents/kWh however the plan is not a fixed rate but instead 50-100% higher than that advertised. There is no hyperlink shown on Compare Power to describe the actual rate. Their customer service is absolutely terrible! AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!
4change Energy is engaging in deceptive advertising on *************** website. A single rate of 11.6cents / KWh is shown on compare power and there is no hyperlink shown that would identify that the rate is not a fixed amount. I was charged almost 50% more than the rate advertised. Although I presented my complaint with images of the single rate advertised, 4Change Energy's customer service has not addressed the false advertising and has not corrected my three bills prior to cancelling service.
Deceptive Practices.
The ONLY way to get the advertised price (let's say they advertised 13 cents per kilowatt for up to 2000kw + $100 off per month).
But, when you start getting your bill...the charge is NOT the advertised contract price. In fact, after calling their customer service department, the ONLY way you can get the contract price is to hit 1000kw EXACTLY on the nose. Really? Yes, according to their customer service....really.
So instead of the advertised rate, expect approximately 17 cents per Kw (which at 2000kw, that is $350/mo). Then, add Oncor charges (stnd) and that is another $115ish....then they take off the $100 (like they said). and your bill is around $365 for a month.
imho, this is possibly the biggest scam ever!...Why? You are in effect, penalized EVERY MONTH for their deceptive practice !!!
The $20 per month remaining contract fee for leaving, sounds like a cheaper route at this point!!
I don't do reviews, but this service was so bad I felt compelled to make the effort to just warn as many people as possible about this company. DO NOT get involved with them. Look into paying a little more for a company that has good service and reliability, it's what I ended up doing. I didn't even make it two weeks with them before I needed to cancel my service and naturally I'll have a cancellation penalty... but they never even gave me the features I was supposed to have been promised. They told me on 4 occasions my issue would be escalated but they never addressed it.
They turned my service off. Did not ask for, never had a late payment as I have always had where they have direct from bank. The new ap does not work called today they sent me a reset to my phone that was at 1:59pm. At spx my electricity went out. This was about 3:30pm. My daughters called and was told they had a move out. No I own and have no plans to move out. They did turn it on within the hour which was good as I have cancer and rely on my electricity. I called at 6:32pm as I was concerned they were going to charge me a disconnect and reconnecting fee. We will see how this goes. I been with them for apx 8 yrs. Very sad. It's one thing to make a mistake but to charge fees for their mistake would be too much especially when your 71yrs old.
Im not sure why this company hasnt been penalized if its obvious these people are scammers upon looking at all the negative reviews . This company is ridiculous 83 dollars in just *** charges . My AC is always at 78 how is it 300 dollars that makes no sense to me. I will be reporting them to **** their bills are outrageous. Please do not use this company !
Service was disconnected because they needed some additional information they didn't collect when service was signed up for. Notice was not given to me about disconnection and process to get reconnected took up to 48 hours. Frankly it's really unacceptable and terribly unfortunate way to do business in a service industry. Making a phone call and collecting information you require should be standards you have figured out as a business long before a customer has to point it out to you. Get you ship together 4Change, do better.
4 change will not honor their ***** period to avoid penalties to switch if you renew with them. They will show their 60 day guarantee policy but if you notice there are footnotes in the policy that exclude renewing customers from this 60 day guarantee. Ive signed up for .13/*** and I get billed for .17/kwh. They make it seem like youre getting $100 off your bill if you use a certain amount of electricity but what they are really doing is charging you more, then taking $100 off to make it seem like youre getting a deal. Youre not getting a deal. Go somewhere else.
Absolutely the worst energy company. **************** has zero Americans answering the phones and NO WAY to report an outage. They tell you to call the local providers and let them know (no clue who that is) They will keep you on the phone for hours to waste your time especially if you are having an issue with you bill. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!
