I was lucky enough to call Nick and the team at Nerecore who helped me through the different options I had, and in the end helped us get setup with a new laptop / data transferred. Unless you need it done fast and in the weekend, try somewhere else with your gaming pc.
Got mine quoted by Nick. $400 straight up for a thorough check and clean(which I didnt need). Explained my gaming PC circumstance and did my own diagnosis knew it was something to do with hardware but it seems like they only have one pricey package at four hundred bucks. Tried to convince me that other stores will quote and eventually add prices up to that. Which didn’t end up costing even close to that price as it was only $150 to check my broken graphics hardware and install parts- went to Centrecom got everything done within the week for less cost. I won’t be back.
Not saying they won’t do a good job, just left a bad taste with inflexible pricing.
Edit 1: Just read the reply… my parents? I drove there myself and asked for the quote LOL. Idek what story you mentioned.
Edit 2: Since you’re accusing me of tarnishing your company, I’ll say this again. I never been to your premise 3 years ago. This year is the first time I’ve set foot in your store. You must have mistaken me for someone else. I left my honest and transparent review and you think it’s a hate review. I drove to your store and brought my pc on a weekend. And left since it did not satisfy my needs. That’s it. Stop pushing someone else’s experience on me, when I said it’s not me.
Edit 3: To whomever reading this review, you can see below the owner has invalidated my experience with the shop this year and called me a liar. The experience he has plastered onto me is not my story at all. Furthermore to reiterate, I’m not sure which child or parent you’re talking about(See Edit 1) but I drove and brought my own pc and left for my own reasons(initial review). I’m leaving my truth as it is, I’m done with this ‘feedback’ they take into consideration.

We understand that you required a desktop computer to be diagnosed out side of our normal hours. You contacted us on Sunday evening at 7pm which on this day no engineers were working, we agreed to help you the following business day. An Monday morning you popped up at our office with your computer & your parents an offer of prompt service to have your desktop repaired for a fixed price of $400 including parts was given to you. You decided not to go ahead with the service an we left it at this.
Although your budget computer desktop was not in the price range you expected to have it repaired for less than our service cost you decided to not get your desktop repaired through nerdcore. Were glad that you were able to resolve your issue through another vendor
but if you had contacted us during business hours we might of been able to repair the machine for a matched price.
We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we work to improve our customer experience. Excellent service, bought 2 x used Toughbooks for our workplace. Nick worked through a few issues (laptop was fine i just picked the wrong one) I had with one of the laptops and worked with us to get the outcome that best fit. Can highly recommend Nick and his team at NERDCORE.

Not very happy with the repair job on my metabox laptop hinge. Paid $400 & although the hinge is working now it just looks pretty bad like it’s just been glued together (glue running down the back/around the side) and where the hinge is connected to the screen, the screen is coming out slightly. Now the other hinge has broken so I’ve gotten a quote from metabox themselves for $110 for the hinge + labour (who will likely fix it perfectly) so I’m feeling pretty ripped off actually. Also before I got it fixed the repairer said it would be lifetime warranty on the hinge but when I got home I noticed he wrote 130 days warranty on the reciept which felt very deceitful. If you cant fix metabox hinges properly you shouldn’t offer the service, I would have just gone to metabox themselves but I was assured that this store was experienced in repairing metabox laptops.

So your welcome to contact our office to resolve this issue for you again free of charge. An we also complete a full service of the laptop included in all hinge repairs to ensure that the machines are properly serviced and in smooth complete working order. If you look at the invoice date nearly 16 months passed an our repair appears to be still holding. Its the other side that has failed you. You must of got your wires mixed up. This is completely out of our quality control. Feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we'd like to learn more about what went wrong so we can address any issues and improve our service with all our customers.

Had two laptops that weren't working, Nerdcore gave me a reasonable quote for the first one and some sound advice about not bothering with the second laptop due to the costs and age of the laptop. The first laptop works like a dream. Quick turn around on the work and no nonsense advice on upgrade options. Very happy - will come back for future PC issues.

Laptop died and Nick was able to give me a few options we could take that would still save my hard drive. He was really helpful and got my hard drive removed and into a nice new refurbished laptop very quickly (was a Sunday as well).

I was having difficulty configuring a new laptop and Nick from Nerdcore was fantastic help. After quickly identifying that there was no hardware issues he downloaded the required drivers. The whole experience was efficient and pleasant.
