As agreed upon we paid $50.00 for someone to estimate our project. We were told an estimate would be mailed to us in a few weeks. After 3 weeks I called to see if my estimate was ready and was told it would be emailed to me by the end of the week. A week later I received the following text:
Our corporate office has informed me that they would like me to pause on estimating projects unless a design service is paid or in place as the project will ultimately need a design to be installed properly and professionally. Our design service is $695 which includes a scaled plan, 3D rendering and revisions upon request after reviewing the plan.
Please let me know if that is of interest. I do apologize for the circumstances.
We contacted the estimator and told him we had an agreement and suddenly corporate was changing it. Several days later he texted the following:
Our corporate office has decided to change their mind on this estimate. I will be getting you an estimate tomorrow for the proposed ideas we discussed on site.
We then called him and told him we wanted our $50.00 back. To please refund on our credit card. An estimate wasn’t necessary He said he’d see what he could do. It’s been 2 more weeks and we’ve not heard a word. No refund and no estimate. Since then I’ve seen very negative reviews on Yelp about this company. I wish I’d seen those before my initial contact with them!
I've got to say I highly recommend Whispering Pines Landscaping for your lawn. Very professional, great values and they go above and beyond our expectations. Lee, Conner and Landon are always on top of our lawn. It looks great, Thank you!

My Wife and I were very impressed with the tremendous work that Whispering Pines competed for us in our yard. WE had some real issues with water runoff and getting grass to grow with our front yard. The Whispering Pines crew were awesome to deal with. Johnathan, and Katherine, Edgar and Marcial are top notch.
I like to think the appropriate measure of a company is not whether that company ever makes mistakes (companies are operated by humans, after all), but rather, it is how they respond to those shortfalls when they happen.
After a few communication hiccups with my assigned Whispering Pines landscaping team in our first year, I received a call from the owner, Roberta, who both ensured me that they had handled those personnel issues internally to improve communications and also addressed a few outstanding issues at her own expense to make it right.
To say I was impressed with Roberta's handling of the situation would be an understatement. She went above and beyond to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Been a customer for about a year. Started out great. In July and August of this year we were billed for services (lawn fertilizer and chemicals) that were never applied. Both times product was no applied (per our cameras) and lawn signs were not left. In July, they did come back after I called about the no service. On August 17th I was home all day and I was billed yesterday and per the cameras no one was on the property all day or any day before and after. Sorry, but I have lost faith in Whispering Pines, I gave you 2 chances over my better judgement but we still ended up here. The owners should speak to staff and come up with a new structure to make these house calls documented and accountable other than lawn signs. Someone is not doing their job. Even though it is probably an internal employee issue be careful if you have a contract, check your cameras!

On August 17th we treated your property at 10:10am after we treated your neighbor’s property. Your neighbor, Al, saw us treating your property when he drove by in his golf cart and waived to our technician. We are required to keep a record of our treatments and find it highly offensive when falsely accused of charging for work not performed
We had some hardscaping and we love everything that was done! The crew was fantastic and exceptional. Very meticulous in cleaning up each night and we couldn’t be more pleased. I would recommend Whispering Pines for any hardscaping needs!

Thanks to Katherine and her crew for an outstanding job of pruning and trimming my shrubs. They had not been done for almost a year. It was a very large job, but Katherine listened intently to all of my concerns and then delivered the highest quality, most complete pruning/trimming in the 19 years I have been here. Kudos to Katherine and Whispering Pines.

I try not to make it a practice to leave negative reviews because I'm a local business owner myself, and I know how important online reviews are for local businesses.
That said, my experience with Whispering Pines over the last year was consistently disappointing, and even though I gave them multiple chances (shame on me), they continued to fall well short of expectations.
Having decided to terminate services with them a couple weeks ago after they had failed to turn our irrigation system back on (a service I paid them to do), my new service provider immediately noted that the system could not be turned on because the pump was cracked from being improperly winterized (also a service I paid Whispering Pines to do). Since this was a brand new pump from the prior year, I am certain it was not a result of the pump's age or prior maintenance.
I had the pump replaced last year because it had been cracked when we purchased our home, so this past winter I sent multiple emails asking for WP to confirm the new pump and system had been winterized. They finally responded and said that it had been done, but it clearly was not done properly - if it was ever done at all.
To this day, I have emailed their generic email multiple times asking who my POC is so that I could handle these situations more directly, and I still have not received an answer.
I emailed them again yesterday morning informing them that the pump had cracked because of their failure to winterize the system properly, and I asked them how they'd like to handle the repair. Again, they've been silent and deflected responsibility, just like they did when their crew was seen by my neighbors blowing leaves into the lake rather than hauling them away like they were being paid to do.
At this point, I'd like for them to compensate me for the replacement of the pump, and I'm hopeful that perhaps at least this review will prompt some action since my emails to them have not generated any response from their team.
If you intend to use this company, I would recommend being prepared to observe and manage them closely because I do not believe their systems and communication are developed enough to otherwise deliver on the promises they make - even when you're signed up for the "Elite" service package.

We recently discovered that the quality of service we expect to be delivered was not being managed properly by our former management team, and they have subsequently been replaced. I had Whispering Pines install some drainage in the yard due to improper grading. JB was awesome to work with. He explained to me what the problem was and what steps were needed to fix it. The new drainage has been working GREAT! We no longer have to worry about water running past the foundation of our home. JB and his crew were very professional and courteous to work with. I would recommend calling them if you need similar work done ! Denver, NC

JB and the crew at Whispering Pines made my dreams come true in my meadow! We tried two landscapers prior to Whispering Pines and ended up wasting our money with them.
