Dr. Shannon was a great provider during my last pregnancy with twins! She answered every question I had, kept me in the loop on all the clinical decisions and options I had available, and made me feel safe and heard during all of my interactions with her and her staff. All of the staff at Women’s first always took great care of me and my babies no matter what concern I had at the time.

I have a high risk pregnancy as I am 35 and have had preeclampsia with my last 2 pregnancies. I was feeling off yesterday on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026. I went home to check my Blood Pressure it was 144/90. My husband called the Women's First urgent line to speak with the on-call provider. He left a message and about 20 mins later he receives a link to to access the chat to speak with the provider. Peggy Wolf asked if I have had a history of High Blood pressure and if I am currently on medication. He replies with yes and the medication that I am on. Peggy has yet to respond to the chat and it's Thursday, June 25th, 2026. This is very concerning. One, she did not read my chart to review my medical history and two, she has yet to respond to our concerns. The lack of professionalism and communication is appalling. I will be considering a new practice because I do not feel safe here. If something came up, I understand, but to not follow up at all is absurd. Additionally, during my last routine prenatal appointment the provider did not read my chart and asked the same questions I've already answered and wasnt aware of my history of preeclampsia. While this was a different provider, It adds on to the lack of personalized care for patients. Providers, please do better. Your license, reputation, and legacy depend on how you treat your patients. Womens First, read the reviews and actively make changes. Investigate. Don't write it off. Do better. And strive for diversity with your providers.

Women's First almost killed me. I was diagnosed with a life-threatening cornual ectopic pregnancy and told I would lose my pregnancy and need emergency surgery. After receiving that news, I was sent home to wait. As my pain worsened, I went to UofL, only to discover they had little information about my case. I spent 8 hours bleeding and in severe pain before receiving treatment due to the incompetence of Women's First offices and Dr. Margarita Terrassa. Throughout the process, communication was chaotic and poorly coordinated. My husband and I were repeatedly left sitting in waiting areas after learning our pregnancy was not viable, while staff seemed unaware of why we were there. We felt like an annoyance rather than patients experiencing a medical emergency. Most shocking of all, after emergency surgery and pregnancy loss, I received no follow-up call, no check-in, and no effort to schedule post-operative care. It has been 10 days. I called the office to raise concerns, and they have hung up on me three times. Complications happen. A complete lack of coordination, compassion, accountability, and follow-up should not. Women's First is the wrong place to seek care

I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the services provided by Dr. Anne L. Oliphant and the staff at Women First of Louisville. Dr. Oliphant and staff exhibit outstanding professionalism, punctuality and courtesy. I highly recommend Dr. Oliphant based on the fact that she is an exceptionally skilled and compassionate physician who truly takes the time to listen to her patients. Throughout my appointments, she and the staff made me feel completely at ease. She thoroughly explained my diagnosis and patiently answered all my questions without ever making me feel rushed. I had to do bloodwork during my last appointment. The clinicians and staff were especially friendly and professional as well. Dr. Oliphant’s, and the staff’s, empathetic bedside manner and clear communication elicit standout medical providers in the specialized field of menopause medicine. I believe that Dr. Oliphant has really listened to my concerns and has taken the time to support my health journey. I highly recommend her and the staff to anyone seeking personalized and highly effective care.

I am writing this review because I am deeply disappointed in the fact that they did not submit a referral for the colonoscopy requested until I called back 3 weeks later. Now Norton doesn’t have a consultation appointment available for me for another 6 weeks. Illnesses can be very time sensitive. It’s dehumanizing.

The care I've received at Women First of Louisville has been outstanding for over 15 years. It is amazing that such a large practice can be so efficient, organized, and caring all at the same time. For my annual checkups, I am able to schedule my mammogram and provider visit together. Pre-check in means I simply sign in and within a minute or two I'm called for my mammogram. Another 2-5 minute wait and I'm with a friendly, knowledgeable technician who completes the mammogram with a smile and a caring attitude. In 10 minutes, I am back in the waiting area and immediately called back for vitals by another friendly professional assistant. Within 5-10 minutes I am in the exam room and my provider, Heather McLennan, arrives. Here is where the appointment is less about efficiency and more about the care she provides to me. Heather always takes the time to speak with me...asking questions about my life, my health and my concerns. These are not just a check list. She listens. She smiles. She looks me in the eyes and participates in a conversation with me that makes me feel like she cares and understands. Her exam is gentle but thorough. I often have a question about recent research or options and she gives me her honest opinion based on facts. I completely trust her and the other women in all aspects of this practice. **A few years ago I did have a less than stellar experience with an assistant who took my vitals. She was dismissive and sloppy and made me feel uncomfortable when I didn't understand her questions. After I shared this experience with the check out staff, the office manager called me the same day for details, an apology and guarantee that the practice would address this as a training issue that would hopefully correct it. I've not seen or heard anything like it since. I am 100% satisfied with the care I receive at Women First of Louisville. I highly recommend you consider them for your healthcare needs.

I have been a patient here for many years. I have had two doctors retired that I like and received the good care from. Yesterday I saw Dr Aiken and she was excellent. I feel like I finally found a great fit for me. I would highly recommend her. Her nurse was very friendly and great too.

Dr. Katherine Shannon is the absolute best. She is personable and makes you feel so comfortable, it’s like catching up with a friend you haven’t seen in a year. She listens, responds, and shows empathy. I would recommend her to my sister who lives in a different state.

I was hoping to share my concerns with the practice directly, however, there doesn’t appear to be any option to submit communication via their website or email. I had an extremely poor experience at this office, which was both shocking and disappointing, given the high expectations I had preceding my appointment. First, the MA left me in her office with her computer unlocked and PHI directly in view. I was able to see ~15 full patient names, phone numbers, and reasons for their visits. This is highly concerning for the future of my own PHI, as well as violates HIPAA privacy rules for the individuals whose information was disclosed to me. Second, I saw Tarrassa Margarita and the visit was quite dehumanizing. Tarrassa entered the room rattling off my “options since nothing is wrong.” She did not inform me of the results of my procedure nor so much as inquire about my symptoms to adequately hypothesize, diagnose, rule-out or treat prior to doing so. When I pointed out the abnormalities I personally witnessed during my ultrasound, she appeared surprised, confirmed what I saw, and immediately attempted to move the conversation forward; I found this concerning as she had just told me everything was “normal.” I attempted to explain my symptoms (this was a new patient appointment and I had not been provided the opportunity disclose these yet), when she cut me off, spoke over me, and began providing a follow-up response before I finished speaking. I had to ask that she please let me finish, and then she continued with her pre-determined response, not even taking into account or acknowledging the information I shared. Tarrassa does not like clarifying questions or patients who seek to be informed—she expects you to nod along and be on your way, as evidenced by her immediate defensiveness and condescending responses any time I attempted to ask clarifying questions. She responded as though she perceived me wanting to understand my own health as a personal attack, and promptly shut down all questions with brash remarks. During my visit, Tarrassa mentioned that “if you were 45 or 50, we would just do a hysterectomy, but since you’re young, we want to preserve your fertility.” I asked her what may be done if I was not concerned with preserving my own fertility, and was told that I would need to find a different doctor, but they wouldn’t be a good doctor. This was postured as though I couldn’t possibly (in my 30s) make such a decision myself, I must endure debilitating pain until I’m 50, and that my own quality of life was under the rule of someone who was incapable of pretending to care about my well-being to begin with. I left my visit feeling extremely invalidated, dehumanized, and defeated. There was not even a semblance of care or concern shown to me by this woman—the entire visit was centered on her ego.

I have had the extraordinary privilege of knowing Dr. Rebecca Booth both as a patient and as a colleague for over 30 years. She delivered both of my sons, and I cared for her children as their pediatrician—our lives have been deeply intertwined in the most meaningful way. Dr. Booth is, quite simply, one of the finest physicians I have ever known. Her clinical skill is exceptional, but what truly sets her apart is her compassion, integrity, and unwavering dedication to her patients. I have referred hundreds of friends and patients to her over the years, and without exception, every single one has felt the same—grateful, cared for, and deeply respected. The day she retired from her practice was honestly one of the saddest days for so many of us who were fortunate enough to be under her care. She is a rare and remarkable physician. I hope the next chapter of her life brings her close to women. That’s where her gifts truly shine. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with her in this next chapter will be incredibly lucky. elsa haddad md

If I could give zero stars I would…. This is the 3rd birth, 2nd child I have had with the practice… At my 20 week apt they informed me my OB was not longer practicing and I would need to be pick another Dr. there… at that point none of the doctors had regular openings so I was forced to see a different doctor at every visit. This didn’t become a problem until at every appointment the doctors would be extremely late and wouldn’t even glance at my chart before hand. I made an appointment for spotting where they said nothing was wrong and said “sometimes that just happens” later that evening I was admitted to the ER for a SEVERE infection that was beginning to travel. Around 32 weeks we found out baby was breech but was told there was plenty of time for him to flip into position or I could have a procedure to flip him, he did indeed flip by 34 weeks and stayed that way… Fast forward to us scheduling the induction… we showed up for a SCHEDULED induction in the late evening, to be told Dr Holly Brown was tired and wouldn’t not be in, unless I went into labor…she directed the nurse to only give 1/2 dosing of pitocin every 2 hours instead of full dose every hour… she did not come into our room at all during that induction… at my first cervical check the nurse couldn’t feel the baby at all, we requested an ultrasound that was called in and never approved my the dr brown. Fast forward after being checked by NUMEROUS nurses… shift change happened. The midwife and doctor Grider from women’s first office came into my room and both checked my cervix to say they felt him he was just high and they wanted to break my water to lower him. Again we had requested an ultrasound and they said they felt his head… the midwife broke my water and an hour later with now lower progress they miraculously got an ultrasound machine within seconds….. Dr Grider did the ultrasound and showed me the baby was breech…. And he needed an immediate c section. I asked why they didn’t check, and they told me they felt him but unfortunately that must have been his bottom and “these things happen”….. naturally I was terrified as this is my 3rd baby both were born vaginally… Dr.Griders response to me being terrified was to show me c section photos she had done in the past…. I didn’t ask for these and they only made me more nervous… this practice took all of my option away from my delivery and showed zero care/compassion during my care…in the end my delivery may have been C-section regardless of my efforts, but I deserved to have the option to try everything in my ability to flip him, I was only 39 weeks at an elective induction…. If they had gotten the ultrasound at arrival when I asked this could have been different but I will never know.…. yes I have a healthy happy baby, but the point of women’s first, is to put women first…. They do not do that…

I'm leaving this practice after seeing them for almost 10 years, after Dr. Terry retired, things went downhill. I would advise any women in the area to use another practice; staff is extremely rude especially when it comes to mammograms. Appointments are rushed and if you have questions, you are brushed off. You are expected not to question anything they say. Expect to be treated like a number not a person.
