The cemetery looks quite ragid and in need of restoration, many tombs are falling apart, sometimes you can see a half opened casket. It felt a bit disrespectful. We found some guide online that walked us through some parts, explaining how the places are rented for a few years only which added to the strange feel of profit over serenity. There is basically no shade, I don't recommend going there around lunch time with high sun. Would suggest you go have a drink in one of the rooftop bars across the street and admire the cemetery from bird's eye view rather than wondering through it. We did both and liked it from the top much better.

Inaugurado en 1822 se convirtió en el primer cementerio público de la Ciudad de Bs As. De gran valor histórico & arquitectónico. Recomiendo ir con tiempo para poder recorrerlo tranquilamente. Un atractivo imperdible de Buenos Aires.

Más allá de los mausoleos más conocidos, el resto está en condiciones deplorables. Timbas abiertas, cajones tirados, basura por todos lados.
Al ser una atracción turística deberían darle un poco más de mantenimiento.

Es una baluarte muy importante de la Argentina, donde se encuentra los grandes héroes y personalidades.
Es un lugar muy grande amplio y cuenta con muchos nichos con gran arte y relevancia muy únicos en su estructura.

Even though a lot of people fear cemeteries, this one might be seen in another way. Most of the tombs are artworks, crafted to display wealth. There’s a lot of know politicians, like ex-presidents, artists, notable people, and, of course, Evita Peron, Argentinian icon. The garden is beautiful and you can make incredible photos.
