When it comes to snow plowing, VIL is one of the worst service providers and their response to poor or no service is “We do not care…You have paid in advance …. There is nothing you can do”. As the name “VIL - Very Incompetent & Lazy) suggest, when it comes to snow removal, they are not only incompetent but also lazy. They believe that emails are effective in snow removal … physical work is not needed.
The only good thing about this company is sending too many emails indicating their truck will be coming out for snow clearing. Partial or no snow removal is a norm for this company. They believe emails are enough for snow removal and physical snow removal is a waste of resources.
I live in the city of Mississauga on one of the major streets. My 3500 square foor house has a 5-car driveway. VIL is based in Oakville. This review is for their services in Mississauga.
On a couple of times, they will come out for a 3 - 5 cm light snow and professionally remove snow only to take pictures as proof of their good service.
It’s better to support high school kids in your neighborhood for snow removal but not this company.
This company
• probably hire high school students who drive their trucks and are provided with a 15-inch snow shovel. They remove 15-inch-wide path on the walkway leading to the front door. Also, they clear about 15-inch-wide path on city pedestrian walkway. If you or your loved ones are in a wheelchair, it is impossible to bring them out or for paramedics to attend to a sick patient.
• Also, this company keeps track of the city plow trucks and comes to your property before the city dumps snow at the end of your driveway particularly during a snowstorm hence to avoid removing this wet snow.
• They only clear half of the driveway and often collect and dump a pile of snow in front of your parked vehicle making it impossible to get your vehicle out unless you personally shovel this snow and ice out of the way.
• If your driveway has a “T” to reverse your vehicle before coming out on the major street, VIL does not remove snow from this portion of the driveway since they consider this wasteful land. You will have to remove this snow even after a major snowstorm.
• VIL will remove snow in a manner that the width of your driveway will end up half of the width since they do not push the snow onto the front lawn.
• VIL will push the snow onto your neighbor’s driveway thus causing heated verbal exchange with your neighbors and complaints filed with the city.
It’s most unfortunate that this company and its management do not care for customer complaints and has an attitude …. We are not worried if you do not hire us next season, another customer will hire us.
