This was a delightful surprise. We had a sandwich and 3 flavors of gelato and everything was wonderful!! We will definetely go back. So charming. Loved the gift shop and the "living room" and even the bathroom! Need to experience it. You won't miss your cell phone, which you must leave in your car. Good riddance. Thank you to the owner who is giving a generous gift by inviting the public to experience the beauty he has created. God bless!
I finally found a place that carries the quality of beef I’ve been looking for. I arrived at night so I didn’t get to see the whole place in the light, but everything looks very charming. The two young ladies who assisted me while I was there were very helpful and knowledgeable about the quality of the beef they sell and their farm where it is raised. I had to make a quick stop, so I plan to come back soon and when I return I want to try their gelato and one of the chicken boxes they were telling me about. I had never heard about this spot until tonight when this guy at Sprouts overheard me asking about some beef I saw there. He referred me to Villaggio Colafrancesco, so I decided to check it out. I’m glad I did. What a great find!
I saw a mother being turned away from service. She was dressed appropriately, but her shorts were slightly above her knee. She was in business attire. She was holding her baby in her arms. Her husband was beside her and he had shorts above his knee but no one addressed him. The woman was asked to leave and she did. But she had to leave her baby with her dad during a family outing. The husband gladly held his baby with love, yet in shock at how sexist the establishment is and how rude their employee was. He got ice cream for his baby and quickly left to meet his wife. I will not return and will tell friends and family never to come here not due to their “modest” policy that is apparently only applied to women, but because they are rude, sexist, and do not care about women with their babies in arms. Terrible service for very basic at best ice cream.
Terrible service. Rude. Sexist. Mean.
I was wearing modest professional clothes with shorts above my knee. I was holding my infant child in my arms showing her the ice cream. The rude person behind the desk asked if I knew policy rules- which I said no- and then said, “oh well you’re not allowed on the premises dressed like that”. I was in professional work attire. My husband next to me was wearing shorts above his knees, however nothing was said to him. With my baby in my arms I was asked to leave. Meanwhile my husband was able to sta. This place is cruel and shameful and uncaring toward working mothers, women, and current culture. I had long sleeves and dress shorts and dress shoes. I will always tell people how terrible this place is for their ethics and their care. The ice cream is just basic at best.
Terrible woman behind the counter. I arrived to the shop with long sleeves and high next too loose fitting. I was wearing business dress shorts with a belt and dress shoes. I was holding my infant daughter in my arms. As soon as I walked in the door and started showing my baby the ice creams to try, the woman said “you have to leave.” I asked why and she said I was dressed inappropriately. My husband next to me was wearing an old t shirt with shorts above his knees. Nothing was said to him. The employee then went on the ask if I was aware of a modest dress code, and if I could not follow it I was not allowed on the premises. Not just the ice cream shop, but the entire premises. However, again, my husband who had shorts above his knees was not told anything. I then had to hand my baby to my husband while they got ice cream and I wait in the parking lot. My baby also had shorts on above her knees and was not asked to leave…. This establishment is rude, sexist, inconsiderate, and told a mother with a small baby to leave right in front of the baby. I did not cause a scene, I left quietly.
I will always tell people how rude and terrible this place is to women and mothers with small children.
Best gelato you’ll ever have unless you go to Rome! This is such a sweet place. They also serve paninis that I haven’t tried yet and there’s a cute general store. It has a conservative dress code so make sure you see the website for details. Nothing crazy just respectful. And they’re only open Thursday -Saturday. Check out its story and connection to Rome. Fabulous!
If you like Gelato, then this is the place to go to!! I ordered their trio of Italian soda, sandwich and gelato, a bit pricey for lunch but well worth the experience. The quaint little setting inside along with the great service and reception from the staff makes this a must try if you enjoy different experiences!! Of course, if you like gelato you definitely have to stop in and try the many flavors they have of which they make their own right there on the spot!!
