The tour was absolutely beautiful — incredible views and such a fun ride on the ocean. The guides were amazing and so helpful the entire time. I got anxious mid-trip, and one of the guides calmly led me back to the beach and made sure I was completely okay. Super attentive, patient, and kind. Highly recommend.
Our family of 7 people signed up for the 1-hour regular ride & swim tour. The actual time riding the horses was 39 minutes, as the guides count the mounting and dismounting time as part of the hour. Mind you, there is no actual "riding" of horses, because you only take 10 steps from the sand to the ocean, and then spend the entire rest of the time going round and round in a circle, submerged up to the horse's chest in the ocean. This back-and-forth pony ride/ swim is head to tail in a single line, walking slowly, in nothing more than 100 yards of total space in the cove. There is no riding on a beach as indicated on the website description. The guides say very little to you, and there are no opportunities to stop for photos or anything. The only reason I am giving this excursion 2 stars is because their customer service responded well when I voiced my concerns by giving me a partial refund. I would suggest going with Provo Ponies instead, as we tried to, but they were completely sold out on the day we needed to book. Unfortunately, this horseback riding company is subpar.
We went on group ride and swim there was about 8 other people with us. One of the women was getting on the horse and got bucked off and thrown against the wooden platform where u stand.
The guides blamed her for it. It made everyone so nervous. The horses were not calm and seem aggressive and agitated. They were bitting and the guides and were whipping them with Sticks. They were not well taken care of. And not domesticated or training for public riding. .
Our recent experience with Unique Tours and Rentals Our was not only unacceptable—it was traumatic for our entire family. Before the start of our beach horseback ride, my wife was thrown from her horse twice before the ride had even begun and the riders were still being saddled on their horses. This was a terrifying incident that could have been avoided had the staff taken proper precautions. To make matters worse, our children were also part of the ride and witnessed everything. They were understandably shaken and distressed, and due to the company’s own policies, the children couldn’t continue the ride without an adult accompanying them after the incident. Despite this, we were only granted a refund for my wife’s ride. The other six members of our party—including minors who never even rode—were not refunded. This response showed a total lack of compassion and accountability. There were numerous safety failures: no meaningful rider assessment, poor horse matching, minimal pre-ride instruction, and an alarming lack of professionalism in handling the aftermath. The staff seemed unprepared and dismissive, which only deepened the distress we felt. This experience was not only poorly managed but also emotionally damaging for our family—especially our children. What should have been a memorable and joyful outing turned into a frightening ordeal due to negligence and inadequate policies. We strongly urge Unique Tours and Rentals to re-evaluate their safety procedures, rider matching process, and refund policy. Families deserve better.
Horseback riding was so fun. But the team lies to you saying that you will get your pictures that they take of you and your family in 3-5 business days. And we have been back from our trip for weeks and still no pictures. And I have emailed and called and all I keep getting is them saying it’s taking longer than expected. So sad. Bc it was so fun. But no pictures of me and my family. So I am forced to give a bad review.
Terrifying experience! We booked the beach horseback tour months in advance. This tour was one of the excursions our kids were most excited for.
The website states tour sizes up to 13. We were surprised when 21 horses arrived. It look a very long time to prepare horses and saddle all the riders. I was the 6th person to be saddled following the children. While stationary, the horses were agitated. My horse reacted to another and bucked me off. After taking a moment to calm myself and my scared children. I was placed on the same horse who minutes later did the same thing.
Two times is too many! My party (along with other guests) were shaken and did not want to start the tour.
The team was unapologetic or concerned if I was injured. I WAS injured and thankfully it’s will heal. It could have been much worse.
Management did not refund our parties tour (that never started). The website states minors must be accompanied by an adult. My kids could not continue without me yet they refused to refund.
I understand the risk taken on experiences like this which is why I literally got back on the horse!! However, after the second time. It felt foolish to continue and put our family in this situation.
The very least they could do is refund our $1200 excursion that we never got to take!
They do not care about safety or good business practices. Although they will say that is priority and apologize many times.
Very disappointed. I booked a tour with my children and friends for a ride on 6/4. This is my second time riding horses in Turks, but first time with this company. At the start of the tour I was immediately concerned as the party group per their website was suppose to be 13, there were 19 riders in this group and 21 horses. I am an experienced horseman and certainly understand that the longer the horses are standing around the higher chance of an accident. As the tour guides were loading the horses my friend who was placed in front of my horse was bucked off. The horse reacted to another horse who kicked them- again, too many horses in a small area for too long. Then their guides DID NOT offer her another horse they put her directly back on the SAME horse and offered no remorse or explanation. About 3 mins later this same horse bucked her off for a SECOND TIME. While I certainly understand that dealing with animals can be unpredictable, this could have easily been prevented with the group size that we were promised on their website. The horses were stressed, anxious and ready to get started, we were waiting saddled for over 25 minutes. My friend suffered a bone bruise on her iliac crest, right ankle and wrist, a jammed SI joint, and a whiplash injury. We are lucky enough to be traveling with a physician who did an evaluation and provided treatment and medicine. We were riding with two parents and five children and asked for everyone to be un- saddled after the second incident. Obviously there was an extreme amount of distress for the children who watched their mother fall from a great height. When we contacted the company, they said that we could not get a refund, because the other members of the party could have continued on their ride, even though they were minors and on the company website, it states they have to be supervised by an adult. This company and their business practices are horrendous, this incident could’ve ended up so much worse. We will not EVER book with this company again and spread this incident widely.
The business practices exhibited by this establishment are the worst I have ever experienced with any company. Not only were the employees VERY irresponsible and not paying attention to the safety and wellbeing of the customer, which according to the company is their top priority, but they lied and said they were. This was the farthest thing from the truth (I was not on a horse at the time and witnessed first hand BOTH incidents). When a member of our party was thrown off her horse, not once but twice from the SAME horse due to the horse reacting to other horses kicking and moving, the employees (who were NOT looking) blamed the member from our party who was doing nothing but sitting there. The NEGLIGENCE from the employees was unbelievable and these business practices are disgusting. As an experienced horse rider, the training and mannerisms of their horses are not appropriate. If you care about your family and/or kids, I highly recommend NOT doing any tours with this company!!!
We went on the afternoon Regular Ride. The guides were awesome. Half our group had never been on a horse. No problems once people got over their nerves. if I did it again, I might do the sunset tour. But this was fun. We were out in the sun but stayed cool since we were riding thru water. Highly recommend .
My husband and I did a private horseback riding tour. We had an amazing time. The tour guide was so friendly and so nice, he made us feel comfortable. The instruction on how to ride horse was simple and clear. I rode a beautiful white horse named Apache, he was the bestest horse, he stopped to eat seaweed and was such a good boy. I would 100% come back to experience this all over again ! Thank you unique tour for an unforgettable experience !
Had an awesome time with Unique Tours and Rentals horseback riding through the ocean in Turks and Caicos. The whole experience was super fun and definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The horses looked really healthy and well taken care of, and you could tell the staff genuinely cared about them.
One of our guides was Vixen. He was amazing — such a kind and sweet person. He clearly loved the horses and made the whole ride even better with how cool and friendly he was. Everyone else helping was super kind and friendly as well and it was just a great staff overall. Riding through the water with those views was unreal. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting the island.
My family and I had the most incredible beach horseback riding experience with Unique Tours, and I can't recommend it enough! From start to finish, everything was perfect. Our guide, Vixen, was absolutely phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the ride.
The horses were well-cared for and well-trained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Vixen even took some amazing photos for us to remember the day.
If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure, this is definitely it. Thank you, Unique Tours and Vixen, for an amazing day! Five stars all the way!
We gad a great time with Oscar and the rest of his team. They gave us a great safety overview, were patient with non experienced riders, etc., The ride was super comfortable and a wonderful experience. The horses appeared well taken care of and were an easy comfortable and beautiful ride
