Most of the good reviews you see here are from the owners friends and family. A year or 2 ago I would've given TNT a 5 star review. But since then the ownership has changed, and the new owner is very greedy when it comes to money.
For example, a friend of mine took his truck there because it needed a new transmission. The truck was a few decades old, with high mileage. Mark (owner of TNT) told him he would put the truck on a lift and check it out to see if putting a new transmission in it would be worthwhile, being that the truck was older with high mileage. He gave my friend the "ok" that it would in fact be worth it. So my buddy told him to do the work. His bill was approx $2k. My buddy paid the bill and got his truck back.
When he got home, he looked it over and some of his speakers wire in the doors were cut. Prior to the tranny work, his door speakers worked. He also noticed some bolts were missing in places where bolts should be. He told me there was a few other things that weren't right but I can't recall what they were. So now that he got the new tranny installed, he needed to get it inspected. He faithfully has his one friend inspect all his vehicles since he started driving. His friend told him that he can't inspect his truck due to the frame being rusted thru in several spots and is definitely not going to last thru the next 200 or so miles. He said he couldn't believe that whoever had it on a lift and said that it would be worthwhile to put in a new tranny was either blind or had zero mechanical knowledge or skills because he didn't even have it lifted a foot off the ground when he could hear the rusty frame bending and flexing. And then when he actually looked at the undercarriage, there's no way it couldn't have been noticed. But Mark wanted that $2k and didn't care that the frame was rusted beyond fixing. Anyone that really cared about their customers would have told him that putting a transmission in this truck would not be a wise decision and he should use that $2k to put towards a new vehicle.
I also bought 2 vehicles off of Mark. Paid cash for both of them. Paid above KBB market value. I knew this, but both times I really needed a vehicle as soon as possible, and this was my quickest option. Both vehicles ran like absolute shit. Transmissions would slip on certain gears, I was paying more money to keep oil in both vehicles than I was paying to keep gas in both vehicles. The 2nd car I bought from him was a Subaru Legacy. I was away and my girlfriend was using the car while I wasn't home. She told me the one back wheel was shaking a bit. She took the car to TNT auto and she was told that a new hub was needed. Without ever consulting with me at all, TNT replaced the hub and when I got home I saw the bill (that was paid out of my account) was $1000. That's right, $1000. Mark knew I was away and he knew that I had money saved up, and he knew that he would be paid before I saw the bill.. hell, before I even knew that my car was taken there for work... and he took full advantage of that. One thousand freakin dollars!!! This man is a crook.
If I could leave all 5 stars blank, I would've. Would strong not recommend this mechanic. He will give u an amazing quote to repair your vehicle that will suck you into signing paperwork. But when it's time to pay your bill, that the quote you got was only a small fraction of your balance. Mark is a talker. He's gonna ramble on about "he had to do this," and "he had to do that," yada yada yada.. and he will go on and on until u just pay the bill to get tf outta there. Marks a big guy.. probably 6'3", 350lbs and uses that to intimidate ppl. He will speak loudly at you and leave no pauses for you to reply. If u do reply, he either doesn't hear it or doesn't care. If u raise your tone, he will immediately get very aggressive at u and gaslight the shit out of you.
There r plenty of other garages around that will be fair with you. Everything is expensive these days. But for those kinda prices, take your business elsewhere. 0 out of 10
