5 stars always. Knowledgeable veteran/police/disabled conscious and friendly. Purchased over a dozen home defense items from them. Fair with pricing and gunsmith work. Ask for Shep the owner and expert gunsmith, Colum and no nonsense younger dude who turned me onto discount priced PMC .380 hollow points. Can't go wrong here shop with our locals!

Thank you for visiting, and for the feedback. To clarify, TruPrep Emergency Preparedness is a DBA of Kudzu Tactical — same business, same team, same address. Every employee on site is paid by Kudzu Tactical, and we confirmed directly with our team that everyone working that day was familiar with the name. We're not sure where the disconnect came from, and we'd like to understand it — but the naming itself shouldn't have affected your experience. We'd also gently note that a 3-star review isn't generally interpreted as neutral. If something specific about your visit fell short, please reach out at 678-667-2715 so we can make it right. — TruPrep
I always have a great experience at this store. They have one of the most knowledgeable all around staff for all avenues of prep/ training. The armorer, Shep, has been essential to my builds and a constant resource for knowledge. Tru prep is exactly what you're looking for if you need good advice and a wide selection of options. Thanks again guys!
On April 18th I took the AR-15 Lower and Upper Receiver Assembly Build Class at Tru Prep taught by Shep. It was an AMAZING experience. Shep was patient and thoroughly explained everything and took the time to answer every question. After his class, I felt confident that I would be able to build my own. Should you ever see these classes offered again, 10 out of 10, I recommend you take it!!!

I used to really enjoy visiting TruPrep and enthusiastically recommended it to colleagues and friends. The staff was knowledgeable, the selection of emergency preparedness gear, firearms, and supplies was solid, and it felt like a go-to spot for practical prepping needs.
It's been a few months since my last visit, and the store feels noticeably different now. Inventory is significantly lower than it was even during the height of COVID-era shortages—shelves that used to be well-stocked look sparse in comparison. On top of that, service has changed. The new employee I encountered seemed more focused on the computer than engaging with customers or offering hands-on help, which made the experience feel less personal and helpful than before.
I hope this is just a temporary adjustment as they restock or transition, because I still want to see TruPrep succeed in the Marietta area. I'll check back in a few months to see if things have improved.
If you want a holier than thou gunsmith with a temper to belittle you while you try to find parts… this is the place. My first experience was great and nothing like what I’d heard from my friends and so I defended this place until I was proved wrong yesterday. Gunsmith was getting noticeably agitated and throwing things around while I asked him a few questions. Never going back here again and neither should you.
