Let me start by saying the food was very tasty but the lead staff the woman (big black glasses and wig) at the register was inhospitable. My husband spoke highly of the spot and since we were close it made sense. I came in and complimented the plants she was short. My husband spoke highly of the establishment and then ordered seconds because my children and I really liked the food. My daughter wanted water and so my husband thought nothing to ask for 2 cups. The lady got very indignant about it and proceeded to loud talk my husband in front of the customers and call him cheap. All for 2 cups it was senseless and shameful for the lack of respect and care for customers. There is nothing cheap about feeding a family of five twice. I don’t know what sort of morning she may have had but I do hope and pray that things turn around in her life. To management the food was tasty but taste is not enough in a neighborhood where Caribbean spots are plentiful. Treat staff well so they can better serve the community. Customer service is more important than taste.

The tastes here linger pleasantly after each bite. You get big helpings at costs that make sense. Every selection I've made was flavorful. The staff handles service matters competently. The atmosphere feels genuinely warm.

A restaurant is only as good as the chef and customer service. I have supported this restaurant for 18+ years that I lived in NY and currently live in South Jersey. I don't come to NY often, but when I do, it's to this place. Never again. I got there about 11:33am. and was told the food that I wanted to order was not ready for another half hour. I asked if I could order and pay, that when I come back within the half hour I would not have to wait. She said yes. There was one person being served in front of me. By the time they got to me, order placed and paid for, it was almost 12pm. She took my money and gave me a receipt and told me I have to wait an additional 30 minutes for her to prepare everything, but upon my return, come straight to the counter. I told her I would wait in my car. I ordered 2 chicken roti. 2 Goat roti. 6 solo, 2 currents roll, 3 poulorie, and 2 souse. Upon my return, there were 7 people there. They all got their food. The delivery driver got his order, and my order was still being prepared. After an additional 20 minutes I got my food. What really sealed the deal to NOT support this restaurant anymore. The server prepped all the doubles with only Channa. Nothing else. No sauce, no pepper, and yes, I told her to put everything in it. The souse had no taste. My family don't eat much salt due to hypertension and if we were complaining that the food had no taste, you know it's got no taste. This is the last this business will get any money from me. A waste of $117 dollars.
