Well, the customer service is great. Everything I stopped by the shop to check on the repairs to my car they were progressing. And they take the time out of their work to explain the work needed to me , the consumer. Which is great. So yeah, Tony's a great place to take your car for repairs, Lexus & Toyota's, and Subaru's only!

I spent an average of $1600 at this repair shop. The owner, who claimed to be a specialist in diesel cars, is actually a specialist in manipulating words and doesn't take responsibility for anything. I left my car there for two weeks, they didn't fix anything, the car left with the same problem it had when it entered the shop, I was charged this amount, and I picked up the car with the same problem. She refuses to reimburse me for my lost money. I am taking the appropriate legal action with the consumer protection agency in San Francisco. I tried my best, without being rude, but unfortunately there's no better way with her; it will have to be settled in court.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take every comment seriously and would like to clarify several important points regarding your visit.

From the beginning, you requested that we replace specific parts you selected. We explained that proper diagnostics require time, and for safety reasons customers cannot remain in the restricted work area. You declined to wait in the office and insisted on staying in the back, which is not permitted.

You also contacted our technician directly outside of business hours, requesting that he perform work for you at your location, which is not allowed under our shop policies.

Regarding the catalytic converter, you mentioned that the dealer quoted you around $4,000 for the part alone. We offered to help you find a more affordable solution. Your vehicle was not in our shop for two consecutive weeks; after the first repair, you picked it up after three days. You later returned because you continued experiencing issues, and we explained that additional time was needed to diagnose problems unrelated to the initial repair.

Two important factors affected the diagnostic process:
• You informed us that the mileage displayed on the vehicle is not accurate.
• The catalytic converter had been previously modified, which is illegal and significantly impacts the vehicle’s performance and repair process.

Our labor rate is $260 per hour, and we spent over 10 hours between diagnostics and part replacement—far exceeding the amount you were charged. We understand your frustration, and we expressed this to you in person, but thorough diagnostics take time, especially when prior modifications affect the vehicle’s condition.

Our doors remain open should you wish to continue service with us. We are always willing to help, but proper time and procedures are necessary to ensure accurate repairs.

Knowledgeable and respectful professionals who are helpful, savvy and excellent at what they do. The turnaround was even quicker than quoted, and the quality of work matched the high quality of service; thanks to Tony's the car is now in even better shape now than before the accident, and they even returned my rental from Enterprise for me. Thanks to Ivan and Ed, especially, and thanks to everyone contributing at Tony's as well. For phenomenal autobody work and service, you can put your trust in Tony's.

***CAUTION*** they’ll give you an estimate on the phone & change the numbers when you arrive, expect added on fees! High price for below average work. Never coming back, I’d rather look & spend my money at a honest shop.

We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Transparency and trust are extremely important to us, and we regret that there was any confusion regarding pricing.

When you first called, we provided an estimate based on installing both the front and rear windshields for your 2003 Mazda Protegé. You mentioned you'd think about it and return later. Upon your return, you requested to include window tinting in the same price, which hadn’t been part of the original quote. We explained that tinting was an additional service, but in the spirit of helping out, we offered a bundled price of $750 cash, which you agreed to.

Regarding payment, we do have a clearly posted sign at the entrance noting a 3.5% fee for debit card transactions and a 5% fee for credit cards. These fees are standard and disclosed upfront, and we always aim to be transparent about them.

We’re sorry if any part of the process felt unclear or frustrating. Our goal is always to provide fair pricing and quality service, and we’re committed to improving how we communicate every step of the way. If you’d be open to discussing this further, we’d welcome the opportunity to make things right.

Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us grow.

Extraordinary service! The team was very fast at fixing my car and kept me updated throughout the process. The mechanics are not only friendly and welcoming, but also highly knowledgeable and experienced. I felt confident leaving my car in their hands, and they exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this garage to anyone looking for honest, professional, and reliable auto service in San Francisco.

I am walking down the sidewalk pushing my grandson in a stroller and I have to walk in the street because this place is blocking the sidewalk. Again.. This place constantly blocks the sidewalk so no one can use it but then. Just terrible and entitled owners.

They are not honest, her Towtruck mislead and lie to my daughter to take her car to this shop, my daughter was using her Aaa membership to cover the tow services, but I decide to take my car to a different shop and then this women said she was the owner and because I am taking my car away I have to pay them $880.00 for towing services and Saturday and Sunday storage, I did try to remove the car on Sunday but it was close

I came back for an adjustment of a previous repair. They did it quick, but not cutting corners to do it well. They also accommodated my schedule to allow me to pick up my car well after closing hours (I was flying back to SF and live far away from the city) 🙏

This shop is no longer Tony's Collision Center of years past. Tony sold the business, although they will tell you that Tony only comes in sometimes and is still the owner. During my five visits, they did not even do any work in the SF location. They use a sister shop in San Bruno; it's in the fine print of some documents they have you sign in--total bait and switch. The quality of the work was amateurish at best. The paint job was not finished on the inside of the door jam; it felt like sandpaper, tape marks remained around the windows, and parts were incorrectly reassembled. Here is the best for last: they dented the inside of my door jam and claimed it was their prior. WTF?! It's a good thing the insurance adjuster has all the photos prior. After pointing out all the issues, they were willing to fix the car, and this was a small job. No, thank you! They will never go near my car again; if you are smart, you should let them, either. I told them they could eat the deductible, and they did. I just wanted the work done professionally like the old Tony's. Buyer beware! Also, the car came dirty with 50 more miles than when I dropped it off. Ferris Bueller valet scene insert here.

If you are looking for an auto shop that goes by the book, Tony's collision center is NOT for you. Ed and his excellent team who previously ran the shop no longer work there, and the way the new management handled my recent interaction with them was completely backwards and illogical. When I confronted them about it, I was lectured and blamed by the manager for everything she perceived I (as the customer) did wrong. To sum up my experience, I brought my car in last week because the right front door panel that had previously been replaced and repaired by the shop had started sticking out again. I had been told by the previous shop owner that the area was under lifetime warranty and that if it had any issues in the future, to just bring it back in for a covered repair. When I arrived, I was told by the manager who walked around my car and looked at the area that the repair would be covered by the insurance company via a supplement to the original claim. They for some unknown reason submitted a preliminary estimate to my insurance company via their sister company, "Amazon Collision Center." The insurance company submitted a payment to them and sent the confirmation to the email address listed (amazonautobody@gmail.com). Without having received this confirmation or an authorization for repair from the insurance company (because it went to the alternate shop's address), Tony's Collision Center went ahead and scheduled the work today and did the repair. They never called me to let me know that there were any issues with the insurance coverage or that they found other damage to the right front bumper that suggested the panel sticking out was not related to the original repair. I called several times to inquire about the status of the repair. The first time they told me they would call me back in a few minutes but didn't. The second time they told me that the repair was done. There was no mention of anything else. When I arrived to pick up my car, the manager pointed to some other areas of damage on the car and told me that the part sticking out was my fault and that I was responsible for the payment. I asked what the status of the supplemental claim was, and the manager said it was still pending. They had not even sent photos of the other areas of damage to the insurance company yet but were telling me that the insurance would deny it due to being unrelated to the original repair and that I had to pay. This immediately sent up a red flag in me and I was legitimately worried about being scammed. She refused to call the insurance company or to provide me with any documentation of the repair that had been done (I like to keep records of any work done on my car). When I refused to pay, the manager told me she would just cover the cost herself. I immediately called my insurance company and spoke with the claim adjustor who told me they authorized the repair last week and already sent the payment. I then asked them to speak with the manager to let them know that. Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication and for asking me to pay for something that was already paid for by my insurance company, she lectured me for 10 minutes about everything I did wrong, repeating that the damage was "your fault." I would have been happy to pay for the damage incurred by me and unrelated to the prior repair if they had submitted the correct information to the insurance company and the insurance company had come back and refused the authorization to repair. However, this is not at all what happened. They went ahead and did work on my car without knowing that it was paid for by my insurance and without getting my authorization, and then tried to get me to pay out of pocket for something I didn't owe. It is unfortunate how lacking they are in communication skills (with both insurance companies and their customers), customer service, and basic management principles of their auto shop.

Tony's Collision Center is the place to go in San Francisco for honest work at a very fair price. I brought my BMW in and they were able to provide a better quoted price than other shops around the city and I was able to bring it in with a short turnaround time. They understood I had budget restraints and were able to work with me to fix the car in the most cost efficient way possible, explaining each part of the process so that I knew exactly what I was paying for. The whole staff was very friendly and provided exceptional service. Most honest shop I've ever been to.
