The Reading Doctor Southam. Laura is absolutely fantastic and so supportive. She has helped my 5 year old so much with his reading and with that assistance he has become more confident with his reading, writing and even his speech. I'm so glad we found Katherine! Since my daughter Orla has been going to The Reading Doctor I've seen so many positive changes in her . She is much more confident when it comes to reading and writin,g which she actually enjoys now! Katherine is really friendly and approachable and Orla feels like she has so many tools and tricks to help her at school. We started off with a child that didn't want to read anything so I was concerned we'd struggle to get her motivated but this couldn't be further from the truth. If you want to support your child to feel more confident and to help them to enjoy reading, don't hesitiate to get in touch with Katherine, she comes highly reccomended!

We have been using The Reading Doctor (Alison) for the last 9 months. Prior to seeing Alison our daughter didn’t really enjoy reading, lacked confidence and wouldn’t read out aloud. After weekly sessions her reading has come on leaps and bounds and her confidence has grown. The sessions are tailored to her requirements and she thoroughly enjoys going. Alison’s sessions are well organised, with a clear structure and visual and practical resources are used. I can see a clear progression in my son’s reading confidence. Alison works with other professionals in a school setting to transfer consistent and clear advice to ensure consistency in her sessions and in the classroom. Alison is experienced in supporting the needs of all pupils, including SEN. I like her calm simple approach to language, which works well when communicating with my son. My son is 8 and has been going to John in Beckenham for 4 months. My son is dyslexic and he just doesn’t like me helping him so I needed some extra support to ensure he didn’t fall further behind in school. My son has really enjoyed going and never resists his sessions even though they are after school on a Friday. The sessions are different to how he learns at school as John has lots of clever techniques and it’s multi sensory and works at his pace. Recently I have noticed a distinct improvement in his reading. I can tell it’s because of John, as I can see him trying different ways of approaching a tricky word for example. Most importantly he has started to want to read independently and for enjoyment, which again I think is John’s influence. Highly recommend.

John has been brilliant with our daughter. We signed up with him last Summer so he could help reinforce the basics to help with spelling and reading. Between then and now there has not only been a huge improvement in both spelling and reading but also in her confidence and attitude towards them. Together they have gone over all of the phonics in a way she has understood and have then moved onto the more advanced topics. Most importantly she really looks forward to her sessions with John and also doing her weekly homework so she can show him the progress shes making. John keeps us updated with our daughter's progress and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Laura’s “Reading Doctor” lessons have been absolutely brilliant. My daughter, who started learning English only three years ago after we moved to the UK, needed to catch up on some reading basics, and she did that within just few months. Even after reaching that goal, she continued the lessons simply because she loved them. Laura has a truly magical (and very professional) approach that makes each session feel like an adventure. Reading and writing skills come almost as a natural bonus. My daughter especially enjoys the variety of activities (like baking cookies while reading recipes and practicing new vocabulary), which makes the whole learning experience joyful and emotionally engaging. I can’t recommend Laura enough — she’s made a huge difference in my child’s learning journey.

Ali was recommended to us by another parent. She really listened and has helped guide us with what our children needed. She is providing much needed support in areas that we cannot help with as parents. We receive feedback after each session and as this happens in school, she communicates with the class teacher too when needed. I feel she advocates for my children alongside us as parents, which is reassuring. Highly recommend.

My son really struggles with reading and really hates and resists reading at home with us but he loves going to see Ali - and unlike going to school or doing homework he has never once complained about it. He has only been attending Reading Doctor for a few months but I can def see some improvement and I hope to see even more in time; but just getting him to be enthusiastic about the prospect of learning is half the battle to us so on that basis I highly recommend this service!

Becky has made an incredible difference to our daughter’s confidence and enjoyment of reading. We’ve seen a complete change in her willingness to identify letters and words, and it honestly couldn’t have gone better. Most importantly, our daughter absolutely loves her sessions. She feels safe, encouraged and never pushed, which has allowed her to connect with learning in a really natural way.
