Becky is such a wonderful teacher and has brought my son on so much with his reading since he started last summer. The approach and methods she uses to engage Kit and to build his confidence has worked wonders. Thank you so much for helping a very, very reluctant and resistant reader!

I attended Alison's group workshop as my 4 year old will be attending school this September so wanted to educate myself on the lastest teaching methods for reception and key stage 1. Alison's session was incredibly informative and really went into depth on how phonics will be taught to my child and how I can help with their reading and language development at home. I thoroughly recommend attending one of Alison's sessions as I think it will really help me support my childs learning and she also gave us tips on how to make reading, even the same book for homework, fun and engaging. Really fair price for the session too and Alison delivers her workshop in a dedicated room in her house so you feel very relaxed and at ease to engage and ask questions.

Alison is so knowledgable about reading and supporting parents with the tools we need to help our little ones. I now feel more equipped to be able to support my little ones in their journey into loving reading for themselves as well as reading together. Her session was relaxed and in her lovely reading space in her home which would be the perfect haven for one to one reading support for any little ones wanting extra support with their reading.

I attended the patient workshop recently. The reading room at Ally's house is gorgeous, calm and welcoming. I know about about phonics due to work but still learned lots! It was helpful to learn about some of the differences between phonics schemes and how long children spend on each phase. It was also great to learn of games I can play with my child to support reading. I'm glad to know that I have somewhere to go should my child struggle with reading and need some extra support.

My son has been having online sessions with Kate at the Reading Doctor for only a short time but already we have notice how much his reading confidence has improved. Not only are these sessions positively impacting his reading fluency but also we are starting to see an improvement in his spelling and comprehension. Kate is kind and patient, tailoring the sessions to incorporate my son’s interests, which helps with his enthusiasm. He absolutely loves it from start to finish. Another benefit is the sessions can run over the holidays maintaining his progress.

I cannot praise Liz enough, this lovely lady who I consider the guardian angel to those challenged by literacy just 'gets' my son and has made a huge positive impact on his progress and confidence at primary school over the last couple of years. My son was assessed as dyslexic and more recently dyspraxic. After a tough time at his first primary school, we moved him to a new one in yr3. He arrived 2 years behind in his reading level and refused to participate in putting pencil to paper at all. He is now in yr5 and is reading at age appropriate level! and the work Liz has been doing on his writing, letter formation and spelling more recently is clearly driving his increased confidence and attainment at school, who have commented on how he has suddenly started engaging with writing tasks happily... she has helped my son knock down his barriers and enabled him to see he can do it! which is key to his future progress and emotional wellbeing. Theo thrives on 1to1 learning and always enjoys going to see Liz who has the patients, understanding and knowledge that schools just don't seem to be able to offer at the moment to students with SEN. Laura is such a brilliant teacher. My daughter used to be very reluctant to do extra sessions outside school but has no issue doing Laura’s. She really enjoys them and is making progress. Would highly recommend .

Since you have started working with our child we have seen such a dramatic improvement in his reading. His reading age increased by 18m in a few short months. We had such concerns about our child’s reading before you taught him because he wasn’t ’getting it’ in school and he struggled so much with concentration and application because of his ADHD. You weren’t the least bit phased and assured me from our first meeting that he would be able to read. You have adapted lesson plans to work on the floor with him and play games, even to making pancakes and other themed activities. You were right, he can read, he now enjoys reading and has so much confidence all because you teach him in the way that he needs to learn. We can’t ever thank you enough.

Great session to understand how I can support my little ones learning, and knowing there’s an amazing contact for the future if we need any further help or support. Would definitely recommend Alison if you think your child needs additional help, she’s great!

Ali was a breath of fresh air for our daughter. Reading ability improved drastically and our daughter’s confidence also grew enormously. Before we started to see Ali, there was no interest from our daughter to read, but now she cannot put a book down. Also our daughter loved seeing Ali and was distraught when we stopped taking her and this is from a child that hates attending clubs or extra classes. 5 stars and a big things up from us!

Laura is absolutely amazing with my son, he had no confidence with reading and he has improved so much since Sept 2023, not only in ready but confidence at school. Would highly recommend.

Catherine is a wonderful, friendly tutor who has been helping my son to read and find ways to accommodate for his dyslexia. He is improving in fluency and confidence. I highly recommend her. My son really enjoys his sessions.

Catherine has really made a difference to our daughter's reading in a relatively short timeframe. She really enjoys the sessions and Catherine is a very kind and experienced teacher. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been having sessions with Catherine for years. I believe that Catherine is a huge reason why my daughter loves reading as much as she does, especially considering she finds it so difficult. Catherine ensures that every lesson my daughter feels like she has achieved something in a very positive and encouraging way. She gently encourages reading and, just as importantly, instills a love of it. I would highly recommend Catherine to anyone looking to help their child in this area.
