I joined as a member, hoping this would be a good place to do business. Unfortunately, they don't seem interested in their customers. The range is loud and crowded.
The retail experience is especially woeful. It took me 6 tries to get someone to actually pick up the phone when I called with a question. This question originates from getting bad advice from their retail staff the last time I was there. So far, their advice has delayed my Form 4 by three weeks, and cost me an extra $100.
They also like to talk down to people who ask questions.

Hi Benjamin, thank you for your feedback. With the laws changing in the coming new year, things can be confusing. We apologize for your experience and want to help. Someone from our team will reach out to you to gather more info and discuss the situation.
Everyone was friendly, the place was nice and fun too BUT they’re very sneaky with add on charges. When it came to paying, our cost was $150 over what we thought it cost. I found out that it’s because the guy was putting bullets on the table for us to use WITHOUT telling us that they were an additional cost! We asked because we were booked in for an hour and kept going for ages, only then he mentioned it but kept throwing the bullets to us without there’s an extra cost

Hi Hamza, apologies for the misunderstanding. All of our shooting packages come with a specified number of mags/ammo that is shown when booking online. We apologize if this wasn't again made clear during your experience or if there was a miscommunication. Thank you for your feedback.
Something suspect is going on here. We came in with a group of people (8-10 of us) and used 2 bays. At some point while we were there, a bag of ammo vanished from inside one of our bays. We assumed one of the group had packed it up, as we were starting to filter out. When we got outside we realized no one had it. We went back in and asked, and they didn't know anything about it. They "checked" for it twice and found nothing.
When we finally hinted that law enforcement might be able to review the cameras (they couldn't/wouldn't because they "didn't have access") they suddenly "found it behind the trash can" 5 minutes later. A little suspect, but one can only speculate. Either way, we had our ammo back and thought that was the end of it.
It was not the end of it. 20 minutes later, Jerry, the operations manager called and started yelling because we "threatened his employees" and then proceeded to tell us were banned from his range (all good, because who would go back to a place where guns or ammo could disappear from under your nose?)
The whole situation was bizarre. At no point were we rude or disrespectful. No accusations were made, we just wanted to take a look at the camera footage to see where our ammo went. Jerry was extremely rude and disrespectful, and escalated the situation so far past where it needed to go. I'd take your guns, ammo and money somewhere else.

Hi, we are sorry your experience ended the way it did. It appears that the ammo in question was left unattended and was moved. It was a misunderstanding, but we are glad that the ammo was found and returned. Thank you for your feedback.
ACCORDING TO THE STAFF AMMO MYSTERIOUSLY GETS STOLEN OR MISSING FREQUENTLY WHILE PEOPLE SHOOT. STAY AWAY!
I recently visited this range expecting a professional and relaxing experience, and instead, I encountered one of the most baffling and frankly hostile customer service situations I have ever dealt with.
The incident began when a significant amount of my personal ammunition mysteriously went missing. When I brought this to the attention of the staff and supervisors on duty, they were immediately dismissive and entirely unhelpful. They acted as if I was inconveniencing them by simply asking them to locate property that had vanished under their watch.
I had to take the extremely uncomfortable step of making it clear that I would escalate the situation significantly if my property was not returned immediately. Only then, under duress, did the staff suddenly become capable of "finding" the missing ammunition, which was then returned to me with zero apology or explanation for how it was "lost" in the first place. The whole exchange was awkward, unsettling, and completely unprofessional.
But the horror show didn't end there. After I left the facility, I received a phone call from the alleged owner, who was shockingly rude and unprofessional, doubling down on the poor behavior of the staff.
This facility is a liability. They failed to safeguard my property, their staff was actively hostile and unhelpful, and the owner apparently sanctions this terrible behavior. I strongly caution anyone against using this range unless you enjoy high-conflict situations and having to fight to get your own belongings back. Stay far away.

Customer service was terrible, walked in, asked for help, waited around for no one. They didnt know anything about the guns i asked for such as barrel length and price on the most common ccw like the 43x or the m&p9 shield They were incredibly dismissive and just stared when i left and came in. Pretty bad experience.

Hi Samuel, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention and we are sorry that you had this experience. It's important to us that we maintain high standards for customer service and it appears that we fell short of that expectation during your visit. The comment about product knowledge and responsiveness are being addressed with our team to ensure this doesn't happen again. We'd love the opportunity to make things right and assist you with any questions you have about 43X or M&P9 Shield. If you would like to contact us directly, please email retail@therangeaustin.com Thank you for your feedback and we hope you give us another chance in the future.
My dad and I took a private lesson with Zach and he was absolutely wonderful. Really took the time to highlight proper gun safety, mechanics, and usage of a gun. He even spent extra time with us, as we were beginners. Would highly recommend him as an instructor and the establishment as a whole!!
