Good for teaching pet care.
An interesting way to teach children to be careful with their pets, how to treat them without hurt. The illustrations were simple and clear. I did feel that it was a little above some ages but still a good book to teach with.I received a copy through RABT Book Tours, and this is my unsolicited review.
Cute and adorable read about the art of mannerisms
Why should kids listen? Why should they share? And why should they be nice? In this little book, the kid and his parents explain why and how. It’s important to listen to your parents because they know how to keep you safe. For example, do not go into the street without an adult. Niceness is the universal language of politeness. Everyone understands it.Cute and adorable. Simple and easy. A great way to teach safety and good manners in kids. A recommended read.
A cute guide and a good lesson for kids!
This book is your brief guide to the concepts of PLEASE, THANK YOU, and EXCUSE ME. The kid explains the definition and includes examples of use. The illustrations were adorable although I kind of wish there would’ve been more color.A cute guide and a good lesson for kids! It’s never too early to learn the courtesy of manners. A recommended book.
A great, little book about respect for animals!
It’s never too early to teach kids about respecting a family pet. In this book, the author lists the do’s and don’t’s. Don’t pull their tail because it hurts them. Do give them lots of love and attention. Don’t scream at them. Do give them water.A great, little book about respect for animals. Every kid should know how to treat and care for animals so they can grow up to nurturing, empathetic, and responsible. As an animal lover, I advocate for this book. A highly recommended book.
Good teaching moment. Manners taught in a fun way.
An interesting tool to use for teaching manners. The illustrations were good, and I loved the inclusion of sign language at the end. I learned a couple new words. This was not a book for a child to read alone; it was definitely more of a teaching moment.I received a copy through RABT Book Tours, and this is my unsolicited review.
Wonderful conversation starter!
I originally purchased Please, Thank You, and Excuse Me because it looked super cute. Last night I sat down with my 6 year old and he read the book to me. He enjoyed the book and commented on the illustrations which didn't surprise me, but what was unexpected was how much it sparked questions and observations from him. Without prompting, he thought of other situations where he's seen adults and kids do things well and other times not well. I'm very appreciative of the great discussion the book inspired with my youngest kiddo!
Great book to teach my grandchildren how important manners are!
I loved this beautifully written book. The illustrations are fun and attention-grabbing. What I most cherish is the author has been a nanny for 15 years so she’s been in the “trenches” and has a great understanding of children and how they think. Looking forward to her next endeavor! Thank you, Ashley!
Good book for children
Please. Thank you, and Excuse Me: the lost art of mannerism written by Ashley Chadwick is a simple but essential book addressed to young children. However, as the author expresses, it is never too late to be polite and kind to others so, the teachings in the book transmit a message that can be important to older children and adolescents and even a wake-up call to adults. Please, thank you and excuse me are simple phrases that we are using less and less nowadays. The author explains the importance of teaching these phrases to children given examples of how they can be used. The phrases are accompanied by beautiful illustrations to make the content even more appealing to children. I recommend this book.
An entertaining and educative tale
"Please, thank you, and excuse me: the Lost art of mannerism", written by Ashley Chadwick is an entertaining and educative tale worth the while.Introducing and teaching good manners to children is an excellent way to start moulding a kind person. What's interesting is that it deals with ordinary situations of life. When I read the title, I decided to share it with my nephew and we both enjoyed it.Due to the writer's experience as a professional nanny, she came up with a must for toddlers. It's short but very meaningful. There are lovely and colorful drawings that help understand the meaning of many of the magic words or mannerisms in context. It's excellent! I definitely recommend it!
