To the average person, these people would never help you do anything. I called about a family law concern I had & the receptionist pretty much told me their price & retainer fee & was like I don't want you to waste your time. I admit, $500 an hour $2000 retainer, I definitely can not afford that at all. People like me are stuck with legal aid. People like me who need real help but can't afford good lawyers. Not saying legal aid lawyers aren't good but come on man. They barely wanna call you back at legal aid. I've been waiting on legal aid to handle a wrongful eviction case for over 6 months now. These law firms get hand outs & bail outs & make money hand over fist, but they won't help the average person like me. I'm too poor for them to even looky way. This is what's wrong with America now. Greed!!

I am not sure how this firm is rated so high. My experience was otherwise. I tried to contact the firm in September 2025 (just got a chance to write a review now). I submitted the consultation request through their website, and then called them twice during the following 2 weeks and left a voice message. Nobody ever replied back to me. First time I got such experience with a law firm. [Response to the owner's response below: Although it is rare, it could happen that neither your website nor the phone system recorded my request somehow. Yup... things happen.]

Ethical. Compassionate. Skilled. Not the immediate mix of adjectives you think of when referring to a law firm. I am writing this review just for that reason. You need to know the combination is possible - especially when looking for counsel during a trying time in your life. For me that was divorce - specifically post divorce. As some of you may be aware the saga of divorce does not necessarily end with signatures on divorce documents. Unfortunately, I had and continue to have challenges that require legal counsel. During several consultations David provided transparent and honest advice - at times even suggesting when best not to pursue action. This was so refreshing as he was prioritizing my outcome not his income. And Melissa is an extension of this integrity and embodies compassion. Her care helped see me through a difficult process. Please do your due diligence when selecting representation. The stakes are too high. And please do yourself a huge service and include The Tannen group into your consideration set. Certainly lead with skill and experience when making a decision, something David and Melissa deliver, but give yourself the rare opportunity to have those that care also on your side. Good luck!

I got divorced in 2023 with Merry, Weather & Tharp as my attorneys and received a crap deal that they said I should take. I took my ex back only a year later and received a much better deal and everything was done so differently than the first time. The difference was night and day and Tannen law group not only helped me receive a better parenting plan where I have way more time with my daughter but they were there for me on a personal level.
