We waited for 10 minutes for a menu after seating ourselves, when there was only one 4 top in there. We got stale bag chips and one of 2 drinks were made wrong and horrible salsa. We waited for 55 minutes and never received food so we reluctantly paid for our drinks and left. Just pathetic.

The place looks really nice inside, the service is horrible & the prices...😱😱😱 my brother ordered goat birria tacos & affirmed with the server TWICE that they had goat, and then was served beef. See pics for the size of the tortillas. 3" in diameter, if that. Then the amount of beef was about 25 cents worth. I ordered a beef birria & tongue taco ( $3 each) the tongue was flavorful & the consume was really good, the portion size is trash. The tortillas were almost the same size as the lid to the 4 oz salsa cup. Also the chips were stale. Also was never offered refills on our drinks. The server never brought us our ticket. We had to go to the front counter to get it. Just avoid this place if you can.
Restaurant was empty. Drinks were not offered until seated for 10 minutes. Ordered a chicken burrito and waited another 10 minutes. As I stated, no one else was in the restaurant. Phone wasn't ringing so phone in orders not being received either?
Burrito was very bland tasting, chips and salsa are an extra charge and A GLASS OF WATER WAS $1.04. I have eaten at over 1000 restaurants and never charged for a glass of water!!!
I will not be eating at this establishment again.
$7.99 for a burrito, stuffed after just one. My girls loved the colorful booths and they got a sucker from the server. Friendly staff and clean bathroom. Will be stopping again.
We went there at 6:30 on a Saturday and was surprised to be the only ones there for our entire dining time. The food was solid and the price point was good. The margaritas were ok but I still like the Fiesta margaritas the best in the area. When I am on that side of town I wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Food is usually great and fresh but the service is not good. The server doesn't seem familiar with the menu because when you order, you have to show her what you want. Its so time consuming going back and forth with her about what she says they don't have when its right there on the menu. She also says that they don't make margaritas on the rocks when I've had them there, she wasn't even sure what that was. She will go back and talk with the cook and even eat before grabbing our drinks and having us wait. When we asked for our check, she had us wait until she was done eating before she brought it to us. She wears the same glove that she's touching everything with, including plating our food.
Food was absolutely fantastic. Original menu and authentic. Wouldve gotten 5 stars if service was better and the bathrooms had soap and paper towels

And here we are again at my favorite place in Iowa City since moving here but I’ve noticed a few things that this place needs to correct. Portion size. If I’m paying for an ORDER of chips and guacamole which is extra, I expect a good sized portion. It was brought to me in a plastic cup which is unacceptable being as every other place I’ve ever had Mexican food from serves it on a dish or nice bowl with garnish. They do the same for the chips and salsa. I waited what felt like 10 minutes to actually have anyone take my order and that person was the cook who saw me waiting to order as the 2 servers felt it was a good time to do cash register training instead of attending to the customer. Any time I come in here it’s a problem with getting someone to take your order in a prompt fashion. I do like their food, but no honesty. I have been to way better places that serve way better food. And a good size portion for your money. they’re a four minute drive from where I live so it’s convenient when I don’t feel like traveling down the road seven or eight minutes when I’m not feeling good to go to another place And they are conveniently located close to my job. Aside from that I’d probably steer clear and go somewhere that tends to their customers and gives you more for your hard earned money.
