I ordered flooring through Southern Yellow Pine Direct. Heather is fantastic to work with. She answered all my questions, of which I had many. She matched my existing flooring through pictures and when the flooring arrived it was the exact same grain and pattern as my existing. She kept me updated throughout the entire process. Flooring arrived on time and in great condition after shipping half way across the country. I ordered different lengths to meet my project needs and everything was exactly as ordered. I would highly recommend and would use them again. I was very impressed.

We searched for years to find a quality heart pine, wide plank flooring that would complement our existing 20 year old pine flooring in our custom log home. SYP Direct exceeded our expectations, and fully met our needs. The beauty, quality, and milling of their heart pine is excellent. Shipping the milled flooring to California was less expensive, and better quality, than product that we could obtain locally. Although we put this flooring in our personal home, we have been in the construction business for over 30 years. The quality of customer service is excellent, and Heather and Jason were very helpful throughout the process. We were kept informed every step of the way from purchase to delivery. We highly recommend SYP Direct to both homeowners and contractors.

Ive done multiple orders with SYP Direct and have had fantastic service! Heather does a great job of getting you the exact flooring you need at a great price. If you try to get your flooring from the same place you get your 2x4s you will waste a lot of time and money. Youll also end up with a subpar product at a high price. If you need pine flooring, call these guys first! I will definitely be using them again for future projects.

First, I would give Heather and Jason 100 stars if the system allowed me. I just went through a horrible experience with a bank [whose name rhymes with 'Rumpus'] and these two are the diametrically opposed duo to bad service. These are the kind of people who would come and help you change a tire at 3 a.m. I have never met them, but consider them better friends than 95% of the people I know. Great service, this is the second time I've used them, and their product is simply first rate and so much better looking than the plastic looking stuff most use. Hint: I used three or four kinds of Minwax stains, and prestain and polyurethane the boards before installati8on. They have a warm honey look to them, but each with a slight color variation. Once installed, I put down another layer of polyurethane. Buy from these people. They are teriffic. Thank you.

I installed and finished an AL Longleaf #2 Knotty Pine floor as part of a remodel/restoration of a small lake cottage.   Real wood floors move with changes in moisture and you need good wood and good installation for best results.  This project, on paper, should have been a real challenge:  the floor is about 25 feet from the water’s edge so there is plenty of humidity in the summer, in the winter the temperatures can plunge well below zero and cold air is dry air!, and the floor is over a crawl space.  So lots of moisture change in this location.  I went with a historical look using antique ‘hand-cut’ nails face-nailed in counter-sunk holes.  I then finished with a hand-rubbed oil finish.  The results are stunning!  We receive many compliments from visitors and craftsmen alike.  And the floor is as flat and stable as the day(s) I installed it 3 years ago.  Very happy with how it turned out and would use this product again in a heartbeat. Some installation points that worked well.   I encapsulated the crawl space and run a dehumidifier down there in the summer only to control humidity under the floor.  In a house with a basement and year-round heat and air, this would not be an issue.  Arrange construction schedules to allow time for the wood to acclimate inside the house before installing, and allow enough time for good work.  Not a job to be rushed. I laid a center board with a double groove and splines down the middle of the floor and built out each direction from there.  This cuts global dimensional changes in half.  And I left a gap around the edge of the room(s) and covered with molding so all dimensional changes are hidden.  The historic nails have an amazing old-school look and really anchor well but are quite labor intensive.  One change I would make in hindsight:  order even more extra wood than ’normal’ as I liked the wood so much I used it in many other areas besides the floor.

Absolutely the best without a doubt experience I have had purchasing lumber. The product was flawless ,shipping went off smooth, no damage or loss and last but certainly not least the folks at Southern Yellow Pine Direct were magnificent. Customer service is not their middle name is it their only name. I cannot say enough on how pleased and happy especially in the fact I that I have made new friends and will treasure this relationship for many years to come. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with SYP! I contacted SYP to get pricing information July 2018 for a home my family was interested in. At that time we were doing research! After Heather emailed back, on a weekend! I was hooked! I knew God, had placed them in my life for a reason. I read about the company as well as their business motto. Other companies in the industry really didnt want to give me the time of day! Heather, took the time to educate my husband and I. She knew we were going to be doing this ourselves. We gained alot of valuable knowledge from her. She also knew we were on a budget. Heather stayed in contact with us for months. We finally WON the big on our house and Heather, was there to help get our floors to us. Shipping had gone up, not her fault! We ended up picking our floors up! Heather organized the whole order to be ready for us. We ordered 8" × 12' knotty pine. Hand scrapped the floors. And used Conditioner, Shellac, and wax. Our floors are as beautiful as I dreamed! What I love is that I can say they are grown in the US!

I decided on the new heart pine for the first phase of my project and then several months later I purchased the CHP to complete the second phase of the project. Initially we were worried about ordering something from the internet sight unseen. However, Heather was wonderful to work with and we were highly satisfied with the product. We will definitely order again if the need arises.
