Over the weekend my daughters appliance popped up off her teeth over the weekend. I called knowing they were closed but hoping they had an emergency number linked to their vm. I recieved a text with the emergency number which i tried calling for hours and it just kept saying user busy. Found another number on their website that was disconnected. Left a vm on their machine assuming id get a call back today which i didnt. I ended up taking my daughter to an on call emergency dentist at 6 pm in crappy wearher for them to bend the appliance back behind her teeth to relieve the pain she was in. Google said they were opened so i called and sure enough a man with an accent answered. I explained to him the situation and how i had to pay 600 out of pocket for that which could have been avoided had they had proper numbers listed/texted for patients. He told me he didnt know what i was talking about. He gave me 3 morning times for emergency appointment tomorrow and I asked if he could schedule my daughter in the afternoon tomorrow as my mother in law is bringing her and has pt until 11:30. The response i got was if its truly an emergency youd get here if your that worried. So i said well according to online loose or falling out appliances is an emergency what exactly do you consider and emergency and he said well if her mouth isnt bleeding its not emergent and i said well according to onlune so are loose appliances and he said yeah according to google. I asked if i could speak with someone else to which i got the response go ahead be ghat person but its only me here. I said listen i work in an office i know you have a manager and theres no way you only have emergency appointments in the morning. He said oh good so you know how it goes then if you work in an office thats great for you. I told him he was extremely rude and hung up. Never in my life have i been treated like this by any so called professional. Its so crazy. I am appalled and i can assure after this whole thing is rectified my kid will never show face in that office again! But according to the previous reciew she cant because of her State Funded Insurance anyway which is nuts to not be able to see someone mid treatment. Id stay as far from this company as possible if you can. 2 years weve been going there and ive never been treated this way! Id give no stars if i could

The gentleman that answered your call did not mean to offend you. Perhaps it is just the language barrier. He was trying to help. We called you this morning to explain and apologize, please give us a call back.
My daughter had a great experience with the office and Dr. Mansour. The doctor was always available to answer questions and very friendly and helpful as well as the whole staff. I would highly recommend this practice!

Well first I'd like to start by thanking the office by not wasting anymore of my time then they did. I was trying to look into getting my son braces. I had the initial phone call where the man asked me if I had insurance which I told him I have Fidelis/medicaid. He said they don't take insurance I said ok. He asked again if I'd be paying out of pocket and if I'd like to proceed. I said yes. He wasted 10 minutes of my life entering in my sons information for a consultation... He called me back 2 days later to inform me that because I have " state aid" that I'm not a good fit for their practice and that I should find an orthodontist that I can "take full advantage of my state assistance" 🙄 and continued to tell me my insurance makes me a liability for their practice and they were cancelling my consultation.
Braces are not covered by insurance if not medically necessary and braces are not handed out by the state actually. I was not referred by a dentist so this process is not medically necessary for my son. Im looking into braces for my son so cosmetically he can have straight teeth. If I wasn't willing to pay out of pocket I wouldn't be doing this. I work as a dental implant cad/cam designer who looks at teeth all day (and makes good money) but apparently your being judged by your child's health insurance even if you have the cash to pay for the services. So I guess my advice is dont mention who your insurance is through if you want to spend your money at their office🤷♀️

Amanda, my name is Dr. Ahmed Mansour. I am the owner orthodontist. Let me explain what happened here so you have a peace of mind. Our practice had just opted out of State Funded Insurance 2 weeks ago as doing business with them had become increasingly difficult. Unfortunately, due to their rules, we cannot accept private payment from any patient that has an active state funded insurance. So even though you are willing to come over and be a private patient and pay out of pocket, I cannot engage in treatment or accept payment from you until we are completely out of network with the state Insurance in September of next year. I'm sorry that the gentleman over the phone could not articulate that as he did not fully understand what I'm explaining to you now. He should not have booked your consultation to start with, then have to cancel it. Sorry we wasted your time. I hope you now have a better understanding of the situation. I would have been very happy to treat your son and get to know your family, but my hands are tied. If you happen to relinquish the state funded insurance or cancel the coverage willingly, I would be delighted to treat your son. I wish you the best.
Today, September 26th, 2024 our second child got his braces removed. I am happy to report that like our 1st experience with Sunshine smiles, we are extremely satisfied customers. From application to removal the experience went very smoothly and all employees that we dealt with during the course of the last 2 years were extremely friendly been offered a quality service. We have one more child coming up the ranks and should he need braces there is no doubt that we will visit Sunshine smiles again. As an added bonus, they offer a sibling discount if you have had a family member that received orthodontic treatment in the past. Thank you so much to all of the staff for your Tip Top service during the course of my sons treatment.

I highly recommend Sunshine Smiles for any of your orthodontic needs. My daughter just came off her braces after 4 years and the overall process was very good. Dr. Mansour kept us informed of her progress throughout and he recommended having her change from invisalign to regular braces on her lower teeth due to her irregular compliance. The change was seamless and we’re glad we took his recommendation as her teeth now look very aligned. We’re very happy with the results and they took care of her entire treatment without any hiccups. I would highly recommend keep up with the compliance and sticking with your appointments as this practice is very busy and it’s difficult to reschedule appointments in a short period of time. Overall we were please with the friendly staff and the excellent service they provided throughout her treatment. Ashley is a very friendly staff member, very knowledgeable, and took well care of her follow up appointments. Sunshine Smiles is an excellent place for all your orthodontic needs!!

It has been 3 years since I started with the braces and they finally came off; I couldn’t be happier with the results. I had a lot of crowding which caused a lot my teeth to be overlapping and very misaligned, so I had to have a few extractions done and it took longer than the average timeframe to get them straight. Sunshine Smiles was spot on from the beginning, with how the process would be to how be long it would take… there were no surprises. Now my teeth are looking better than ever and I’m happy that I chose Sunshine Smiles to get my braces done. The front staff like Marissa and Casie are very friendly, doctor Mansour is a great doctor who always keeps you up to date in your progress, and my favorite of all was Ashley, who took care of all my appointments throughout. She is super nice and always made sure I came out of the appt with no questions or concerns. She even did couple of brief cleanings where I had buildup. The whole practice is very kind and provides excellent service. Thank you Sunshine Smiles for the great work done!!

Today's the day, my daughter gets her braces off today! We've been going to Sunshine Smiles for 2 years now. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The dentist always explained every detail because I'm "that mom". I needed to know every process! Definitely recommend for any parent. Also, appointment wait times are phenomenally low!

I have nothing to say but positive things about this orthodontist and its wonderful staff. I got my braces put on December of 2020, and got them taken off finally this month in 2024. I had them for 3 years and a half, and in all that time coming into the office for my appointments, they were extremely helpful, professional and most importantly caring. Whenever I had a question about my braces or the procedure, they gave me all the answers I needed and walked me through the steps required to take care of my teeth. They were also very understanding when I had an emergency on an appointment date, they did not hesitate to give me another date to come in. Overall, this was an extremely smooth procedure and experience, I would highly recommend them for all your dental needs.
