Very basic menu. The price is fairly good, but the platter option was limited. Food came out cold like it was partially microwaved. For the lamb dish on my platter, I literally just got a bone while my partner’s was a mixture. Bathrooms weren’t clean. The men’s bathroom had a used bar of soap and neither had paper towels.
Loved the Traditional Injera bread in the Mixed Soup. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food. My favorite though was the Samalian Rice.
The food was wonderful, the dining room was clean and easy to have a conversation and and the gentleman who runs the restaurant was very friendly and eager to service. The food was mostly Ethiopian with a little bit of Somalian, the flavors were excellent. I highly recommend, especially if you’re curious about African food.
It says open online but I went by there and they are closed 3:08 10/5/24 ( 😔)

Loved the food and the owner is so friendly and authentic 🙏
Went here for a food review video where I traveled all over Des Moines looking for lowkey restaurants and this place was by far one of the best spots out of the 15+ places I ate at that day. I ordered the Somalian rice, the rice was absolutely amazing (had a sort of sweet flavor to it) and the chicken that came with it was super juicy and tender and covered in a slightly spicy sauce that brought the whole dish together. Would recommend this place to anybody looking for some new food to try
