I highly recommend Pine Forest Dental. From the first phone call, to make an appointment, Megan handled collecting my information with ease. She was also the first person to greet me when I arrived for my first appointment. Then was introduced to "T" my patient coordinator whom is by far amazing, her knowledge of information about the questions I had were all answered! Dr. Vasquez and his team are very caring and give more than excellence while caring for my dental and medical needs and for that I highly recommend Pine Forest Dental, 😁

I had a wonderful experience the first time i was here, just earlier this year, to get a filling. I had a filling come loose so i scheduled another appointment. After waiting 40 minutes past my appointment time, when i get to the chair im told i will have to pay $300. When i asked the woman why since just a couple months ago it was significantly less, she disdainfully said “all because you have insurance doesn't mean its free”. After unhelpful comments, I was then told they are now out of network. They are listed as in-network and accepted this insurance a couple of months ago. I should have been notified earlier.

Had to find a new dentist since my old one (Southern Dental associates) are out of network with my new insurance. Chose this place just to get a basic cleaning and a cavity filled. My first appointment was to get X-rays and an exam since I’m a new patient. After I got my X-rays done I was told the Dentist was busy and asked if I wanted to wait or they could call me back to schedule a cleaning and exam. I told them I’d be fine for a call back. Never got a call back, spent a month trying to book another appointment for an exam/cleaning and to get my cavity filled. My second appointment, they tried to do X-rays again, I stated I already did this last time. The Dentist gave me an exam, told me I’d be getting a cleaning, then schedule to have my cavity filled. The dental assistant poked around in my mouth then told me a basic cleaning would be useless and that I’d need a deep cleaning. Not once did the dentist mention that. The dental hygienist tried to upsell me and push out my cavity filling for months, adding more to the list. I finally got fed up and said I need this fixed, it hurts. It’s the main reason I came here. So I left again with nothing done. On my third appointment I finally got my cavity fixed. The dentist himself was nice and professional but the dental hygienist was the worst. I’ve never heard of a cleaning being “useless.” I won’t ever go back, I’d rather pay out of pocket to see Southern Dental Associates again.

I am very sorry for your experience that you felt you had. After review, I stand by our staff and wish you the best of luck in the future. Our door is always open.

I heard back from the office manager and I have to add this:
As the office manager I take full responsibility for the poor experience of the patient.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations.
At our office, we strive to provide clear communication, efficient scheduling, and patient-centered care, and it’s evident from your experience that we fell short in those areas. We sincerely apologize for the delays in follow-up, the confusion regarding your records and X-rays, and most importantly, for not making you feel heard regarding your primary concern.
We understand how important it is to address a patient’s immediate needs—especially when discomfort or time-sensitive situations are involved—and we regret that this was not handled as smoothly as it should have been. While comprehensive care recommendations are an important part of maintaining oral health, they should always be clearly explained and aligned with the patient’s priorities.
We appreciate your kind words about the doctor and are glad your treatment was ultimately completed, but we take your concerns about communication and overall experience very seriously. Your feedback is being used to improve our internal processes and ensure better coordination between our team members.
If you are open to it, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly and see how we can make this right. Please contact our office at your convenience.

They were very nice people. They were willing to remove my wisdom teeth on short notice and handled a problem with my insurance very professionally. Dr. Hunt did a fantastic job! The procedure was quick and all my questions were answered in detail. I’m healing fast with minimal pain and swelling! I appreciate the whole team! Would recommend to friends and family.

I want to clarify a few important points regarding my previous review, especially in light of the owner’s response. I am JN, and I have never worked for this office in any capacity. I am strictly a patient and parent/spouse of patients. I can prove everything I’m saying if needed, I am unable to leave a reply or edit my review and created a new email just for this. It is very concerning that instead of reaching out to me directly to address my experience, the owner publicly suggested or assumed that I was a former employee. That is completely untrue. Making that kind of claim without verification or any type of communication raises serious concerns about honesty and professionalism. It’s hard to trust a business that makes inaccurate and FALSE statements rather than addressing patient concerns directly. By the end of October 2025, my husband and I had invested nearly $12,000 in dental work for our family with Dr. Keefe prior to her retirement. This included partials, crowns, bridges, fillings, and extractions. Based on standard expectations and our insurance, much of this work should carry a 3–5 year warranty, and fillings that fail within a year are typically covered. In December, I returned to the office due to an infection. During that visit, both the dentist and the financial coordinator strongly pushed for the most expensive treatment options, specifically implants and additional bridge work when I was simply seeking antibiotics and to schedule an extraction. I left that appointment feeling discouraged and uncomfortable, which was very unlike my prior experiences with this office. More recently, I called because my oldest child had a filling fall out. I was then informed that none of the prior dental work completed under Dr. Keefe is being honored. When I asked about our existing bridges, partials, and crowns, I was told we would need to repurchase them or start an entirely new treatment plan with the current dentist, as nothing is considered under warranty anymore. This is extremely disheartening, especially since our insurance will not cover these procedures again for another five years. I stand by my experience as a patient, a wife and a mother. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before committing to treatment here as they will try to take FULL advantage of you financially.

ORIGINALLY I had a positive review posted here, but over time I have come to find out that the tooth this dentist CLAIMED to pull was NOT completely removed. I'm now going to have to have ANOTHER dentist finish the job this dentist didn't finish and lied about.

If I can give it no stars I would. I am going to be honest I was skeptical about coming from the beginning because of all the bad reviews. I don’t even know where to begin first it took two days to even get some body on the phone. I’ve called and called and tried to schedule an appointment a guy that works there and I don’t know his exact title but he is very very rude. Put me on hold just to transfer me to somebody else did not tell me he was transferring you just transferred me also when I went in there I got a treatment plan from this lady. She tells me my treatment plan is 13,500 and that I would need to pay it upfront. OK cool. So when can I schedule she goes on to tell me in about 2 to 3 weeks out to wait on the doctor. But you want me to pay you all of this money and I can’t see a doctor as soon as possible. So as I start asking her questions, she was getting a little agitated and went on to talking about financing which I don’t have a problem paying for it that’s not what I asked. They just need more professional people. oh and come to find out they have switched doctors three times and I was told by the receptionist upfront that the new doctor is leaving which is weird to me but OK whatever. I told her to run too. She said she has five years of experience and this is the most unprofessional office. She has worked at now someone that works there says that that says a lot please close this place down.

By the end of October 2025 My husband and I nearly $12,000 that year on teeth repair, partials, crowns, fillings and extractions with Dr Keefe for ourselves and our kids just before she retired. My husbands partials and both of our crowns and bridges should have a 3-5 year warranty, and according to my insurance the dentist should cover a filling that fell out within the year. However, in December when I visited the new dentist due to an infection, she and the financial lady were extremely pushy on the most expensive fix for my mouth. I just wanted antibiotics and an extraction to be scheduled, instead, they wanted to do an implant and another bridge. I left feeling defeated and unhappy for the first time in years. Recently this past week, I called due to my oldest kids filling falling out, I was informed none of our work we had done is being honored that Dr Keefe did. I asked about our bridges, partials and crowns the lady I spoke with said I’d have to re-purchase them or do an entire treatment plan with this dentist. They aren’t under warranty with the practice anymore. This is so disheartening. Our Insurance won’t cover these items again for 5 years. Yes FIVE years. I’d definitely stay clear of this office find a second opinion. The new owners and dentist are money hungry and have 0 compassion for patients in reality.

This dentist office is very unprofessional the doctors they have barely know what they’re doing. The female (black)dental assistant they have don’t know what she doing, I saw her go into someone mouth and walk around touching everything with the same gloves. She seemed to have a bad attitude, the manager Lucy is very rude the way she spoke to the lead assistant Shawn was giving me racist vibes and he was the only nice person in the building. It upset me very bad I just had to leave. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here they need to shut this practice down how they’re doing business someone is going to get sick . I will Be reporting this company I have video of everything that happened when I visited they don’t even deserve 1 star .

This will be a reported and flagged review. We had to terminate an employee and feel this is in response to that.

This is by far the worst dental practice/appointment I have ever been to. AS A HEADS UP DR KEEFE RETIRED AND SOLD PRACTICE Incredibly unprofessional and outright rude in some parts. This dentist has changed management recently due to the main dentist retiring. To preface things, I haven’t been to a dentist in a year or two due to finances and booked an appointment here because they were one of the only in network providers not multiple months out. My appointment was at 3pm on Wednesday, I arrived on time and the first little irritating thing was they had not inputted my insurance when it was part of the initial call where the worker told me she would call me back if any issues came up with putting it in the system. That’s fine whatever, I sit down at 3pm and wait A HOUR AND A HALF past my appointment time (no exaggeration) and only once did someone come up to me after 45 mins and apologize, I was up at the desk ready to leave when they finally got me back at 4:30, they claimed that they had surgeries running late but after talking to people in the lobby they had moved around appointments basically. The dental tech finally gets me back and has me sit down for the X-rays trying to tell me to tell her exactly what tooth is bothering me, which was a little frustrating after telling her I had pain on both sides, she continuing to ask which area and I can’t narrow it down and asked why do we not just do full head xrays. She had a little bit of an attitude but finally after all the X-rays are done she had quite a judgmental tone looking at my X-rays making me feel uncomfortable saying things like “wow you haven’t been to the dentist in this long?” And just being a little rude overall. The new dentist comes in Shelly S? And she already is in a I want to go home mood as soon as possible I can tell. She tells me that my previous emergency appointment X-ray I had a month before was wrong, I don’t need the root canal I need my wisdom teeth out immediately, and when I am asking options she tells me she could cut one of them out right now, which was very strange since she’s not an oral surgeon and commented on the X-rays that I was not ready for surgery. She made me feel incredibly uncomfortable overall and I did not feel like she was looking at me as a patient, just an obstacle to go home. Overall strange appointment but the main reason I booked it was to get medicine for a week or two while I wait for a surgery spot to open up with them, I requested some pain medicine for if I was in dire pain within the next two weeks and the doctor went on this spill about how dentist shouldn’t be prescribing medication like that. Her response to my inquiry of what I am supposed to do come a time of excruciating pain is “you just need to get them out asap”. Not sure how that’s supposed to help me during the waiting period. I am prescribed Antibiotics and general ibuprofen, and I voiced my frustrations after I came in for direct pain. Basically I go up front at the end, voiced some of my opinions on the unprofessionalism and the office workers fully agreed, and shared that this is not the first time people have complained about Shelly not giving them proper care. The lady who was forced into office admin position due to org changes last week is no longer there this week. But to put the cherry on top, they did not even give me the medicine they did prescribe to me! I called Wednesday after leaving my appointment assuming they sent it to a pharmacy, no call back so I called Wednesday after Thursday and a gentleman in the office tells me the doctor does the prescriptions in house and will not be back till Monday. So I went and got X-rays-, waited almost 2 1/2 hrs total, to come home with no medicine, treatment, and not feeling safe or cared for what so ever from the practice. Avoid at all costs seriously, you will not get the care you previous got here. I will be filing formal complaints against the dentist.

1st great dentist I've found here in Pensacola. I've got a lot of dental issues and will continue to have a lot due to genetics. She is in the business of doing right by and for her customers. She hasn't once tried to up sale me, only doing what is asked for and what is best for me. I truly appreciate that and respect her for being so kind hearted. I needed a tooth removed, after a long battle to save it prior by other dental practices. This tooth was the focus of not just one of battle but many. Her assistant insisted we should save it but, she she listened and asked me... Doing what I needed done. Overall she's the best around. Hands down. Good luck finding better folks

Update: Lasted 8 months, fell out tonight (1-13-26). Very nice women. Had a bridge put in by Comfort (yea, right) Dental, it fell out after 2 years. Had McCreary Dentistry cement it back in. Lasted 2.5 years. Neither did a very good job at all. The bridge moved for all that time, horrible. I don't recall the technicians name at Pine Forest but she knew what she was doing more than the other two offices combined. Bridge doesn't move at all. Hopefully it will last more than 2 years this time. Will let you know, lol. I give 5 stars to these nice women :)
