I have used BCI Firth a number of times over the years, each time they have provided an accurate report that has allowed me to fix problems and not spend money on unnecessary maintenance and repairs. Recently they saved me about 100K not doing unnecessary roof repairs. I would definitely use them again.

I highly recommend BCI. I’ve used their services twice, once for a pre-purchase property inspection and once for a dilapidation survey before a renovation. Both experiences were outstanding. The inspectors were thorough and attentive to detail, and even included helpful maintenance suggestions for the new property. From the very beginning, the team was professional, responsive, and accommodating with scheduling and deadlines. Not to mention, they’re a local family business rather than a large company, which made the whole experience much more personal and pleasant. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose BCI again in the future.
BCI has been so easy to work with right from the beginning. Everything was explained clearly about the stages of inspection and their prices are very reasonable. The inspector was always punctual, very experienced and his attention to detail was fantastic. They could always accomodate the specific appointments that I needed and this made the whole process hassle free. Would highly recommend BCI to anyone needing home inspections.

Worst experience ever. No moisture testing was completed even though we paid for a gold package which has led to multiple moisture defects in the house regarding our ceilings not once but twice collapsing. Water has also come from the ensuite into the main living area wall. Black mould throughout the house and many structural defects on the roof and the gables which is still an ongoing problem that needs to be rectified. After complaining and many promises of a refund, we have yet to receive the money and this has been ongoing for over 3 months now. Due to all the tradies and being FIFO, we are warning everyone to not use this company as we would never touch them again with a 10 foot pole. Absolutely disgusting!!!
Disappointing Experience – Refund Promised but Never Paid
We used BCI Building and Pest in Perth for a pre-sale inspection, but unfortunately, they missed a significant structural defect in our roof. This issue was later identified by a prospective buyer’s building inspector and ultimately cost us $10,000 out of pocket to continue our settlement.
While I understand that no inspection is perfect and oversights can happen, the real disappointment was in BCI's response. They acknowledged the mistake and promised a refund for the service — a gesture that would have shown integrity and professionalism. However, despite repeated follow-ups over almost 4 months now and continued reassurance the refund was never issued.
This situation could have been much less costly if the defect had been identified at the time of the initial inspection, giving us the opportunity to rectify it more affordably. I’m not leaving this review out of anger for the oversight, but rather the lack of accountability and follow-through on what was promised.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious when choosing BCI.
