Security and peace of mind Had to buy the hub separately and sometimes doesn’t recognise finger prints but other than that it’s okay.Don’t think I would pay what the full asking price was though got it on offer

They rust, handles snapped due to weak soldering. Avoid I had three of those, and the USB connector rusted. In fact, due to the weather in the UK, the handles were rusting everywhere. Two of the handles snapped due to poor soldering. Their support does not respond, even they have 24 months warranty. Even though Amazon told them to respond, they did not respond.Amazon took all the products back, even after 15 months, due to a lack of support.

Simpled Le/La Best. Arrived promptly via Amazon, it was easy to fit and set up. It is a premium product that’s worth the price. The pre-sale and post-sale customer service to answer any questions was first class even when you send a message over the weekend, prompt responses shows the company is dedicated to looking after customers.

Tags and app work well It wasn't hard to fit, though drilling through the door was a bit scary. The app works well, the tags work well, the fingerprint works about 50% of the time. Alexa integration works well, if a little slow. I shared an eKey with a friend, now his phone can open my door too.I haven't yet managed to get a pin to work. The keypad is inconsistent, sometimes registering a button press, sometimes not. You have to enter 8 digits from a random auto generated pin before you can change it to something simpler - but as it's damn near impossible to enter those 8 digits, I'll never be able to change it to something easier. Still, if I lose my keys and my phone, there's a fair chance I'll be able to open the door with my finger.

Absolutely incredible We bought this to replace my Yale smart lock of similar design. That was absolutely pants. It lasted 7-10 months before it broke. This one, battery lasts months! And it works so so much better! Omg negative is the keypad doesn’t really work in extreme heat or cold. But as long as you have your phone or a fob your sound!!

Low Quality The handle comes off after a while. The materials from which it is made are weak and of poor quality. There are some rebranded Chinese locks that don't cost more than £40 in China shop. I am a professional locksmith who installed and found the major problems of this smart lock. The fair price for the quality of this product should not exceed £50.

Fab purchase - quality product We had a Yale Conexis L2 which broke after 26 months and did not want another that was rubbish. We bought the covering plates from Simple’s direct to cover over the holes left.Fitting was okay and using the app to set up fobs etc was really easy and very intuitive. The lock in nice looking and is quick to lock and unlock unlike the Yale. Not had this very so can’t speak to longevity but it looks and feels like a quality product.Other half had to contact support when fitting and they were responsive and helpful

Door handle The door handle was very difficult to fit and required the use of professional advice in order to fit correctly. Once fitted it worked using the electronic systems for approximately 1 week at point a clip inside the lock broke and then it then failed to open using finger print, use of app or use of fob. It now only works using a key which cannot be reproduced. Would not buy again. Given 1 star as could not give no stars.

Fingerprint hit/miss in the wet I've had this door lock fitted for a few months now. I decided to wait to review the lock until we had a good use of its features.Firstly, the fitting of the unit can be really simple or really awkward depending on the type of door you have, and the handle you're swapping out.Due to the nature of our specific door, there was some drilling of new holes required to feed the cable for connection to the battery side and and retaining bolts through to the outside unit. The power cable was a little fiddly to feed through the door and connect but with some patience and perseverance I successfully managed to get everything connected up and working. The full installation took me 45mins to 1Hr and i consider myself an average DIYer.I go through this little story to demonstrate that the replacement process might not be as straight forward as you might think. It all depends on the age and style of your existing door. The best scenario is to fit to a brand new door that has not been cut to suit a previous fitting, but most people I'm sure will be wanting to retrofit. Before you order, be prepared to either undertake some serious DIY or pay a qualified tradesman but i would defiantly say that this was in the remit of someone who has tackled DIY before so don't be scared. The lock itself is great. I have invested in a remote gateway and have full access to lock and unlock the door wherever I am. The internal storage of the unit deals with the registration of up to 200 users (there's only 3 of us) and you can access by either RFID card, fingerprint, numeric code or phone app. No personal biometrics are shared outside of the individual locks internal storage. The phone app is pretty basic but easy enough to use. Generic RFID cards work with this lock so you can produce new "Keys". The fingerprint reader is a pain if you have wet hands or the handle has got wet so it's best to have a card as a backup just in case. The fingerprint scan normally works first or second time in the dry so no problems there. You do get 2 rather specific manual keys should the batteries die and there is a micro-USB socket underneath (you cannot use this for full-time powering the lock).I'm happy with the lock and it has provided a new level of convenience for us. It is secure and operates similar to hotel room locking mechanisms by mechanically separating the handle from the catch and mortice locking mechanisms. The unit is good quality with solid metal components and has survived recent bad weather. Just make considerations to the installation effort or costs required to avoid disappointment.I haven't used the customer care yet myself but i have heard good things about the What's App and i have watched loads of videos online about the lock which i found really helpful.I would say if you want the convenience of a nice looking door handle with not bad security and you don't want to be carrying keys or your in the habit of forgetting keys (my child of 17) go for it highly recommend.

Not able to withstand UK weather We have had this lock for about 2 years now (purchased direct from the Simpled website) and it has been largely good. We were a little put out by the lack of ability to control a dead lock for the extra security but we live in a very low crime neighbourhood... There hasn't been a single break in on our street in 20 years according to the older residents. So we went ahead and installed.Installation was easy, it required some holes to be drilled but anyone with basic DIY skills should be able to handle this installation with no problems. My problem with the lock comes from its performance in the wet. We bought it as we live in a rainy part of Ireland and the promise of it being designed to deal with the UK weather was enough to convince me that it would stand up to the rain. Within a couple of months the plastic cover on the keypad had failed and come away from the unit As a result of rain exposure. Now, every time it rains the void between the two fills up with water and the keypad wouldn't work. Luckily the key fob was still working but beware they only provide one so if 2 people are out of the house then only one can gain access. I made a small hole to allow the water to drain out which helps the unit become operational more quickly after rain but it's only a matter of time before the thing dies completely. And because I don't really want to drill more holes in my door to accommodate a different type of lock, I will be stuck replacing it with another one of these, which I don't really want to have to do.

Failed after 2 weeks leaving our home insecure Initial impressions were good. The lock "looked" of a good quality and robust in nature, however I was concerned about the quality of the housing on the reverse that accomodates the square handle shaft ad it looked to be made of a cheap, soft alloy and felt a loose fit and flimsy in nature. The lock fitted easily, within around 30 mins as I did need to enlarge the hole to accomodate the cable that connects the front housing to the internal handle. It was easy to set up as an administrator but I couldn't fathom how to allow access to the account for my wife to operate. I did contact customer support via WhatsApp who responded albeit slowly but then ceased responding after a couple of questions that I couldn't understand their explanation of, so I was left high and dry, still unable to resolve the dual administration access issue. The lock worked well.... when it worked. I set a schedule for a tiler to have access to our house for the 3 day duration that the job entailed, giving him access (using a pin no) from 7.30am until 4.30pm.He managed to gain access and secure our house upon leaving without any isdue. I noted from the log that he had attempted to gain access a couple of times prior to the programmed 7.30 on one morning, which was denied! So it worked well for the purpose intendedWe were thrilled, as it was working flawlessly, until. ... we exited our house as usual one evening to meet family and friends for a birthday celebrationmeal at a restaurant. We exited, closing the door as normal, confident that the door was locked automatically (as this is the default, which is the primary reason we purchased it ie. The door is always locked when closed). We always double check that it is locked to be on the safe side but discovered that the door wasn't locked at all. We tried many times opening and closing the door, locking it (so we thought) using our PIN codes, but despite the locks voice proclaiming ghat it was "LOCKED", it wasn't locked at all, just simply depress the handle and walk-in!It was now 7.30pm, we had been frantically faffing with the lock for 45 mins, unable to lock it. As we couldn't secure our home we had no alternative but to cancel our engagement, much to the disappointment of our family waiting at the restaurant.I couldnt do anything as it was dark and raining heavily. We were not going to call out a locksmith at that time of the night, so we had an anxious night sleeping with an insecure home, just a length of wood wedged under the handle attempting to secure our safety. Our evening if family celebration was ruined, a sleepless night ensued. The original keyed lock had to be refitted the following morning and the Simpled lock returned for refund. As we were left in such a vulnerable position by the failure of this lock leaving our home insecure within a short space of time, we will not risk fitting another one.I do not know what happened to cause the failure, it appears that the mechanism that disengages the handle from the latch had failed to do so, hence rendering the lock ineffective.

Smart lock This is a great lock.If you have the right door, it is extremely easy to install. The fiddly part was removing the previous handle/lock. Once this was out, it was extremely easy to put in. It’s 3 screws/ports and that’s it.Sadly our new build house had the door cut strangely so it leaves a gap at the bottom. No fault of Simpled. We will just cover that area. That was the only down side. The app is easy to use, lots of ways to open the door and lock it.I emailed the company for advice on a Saturday and actually got an answer by Sunday morning! The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star is because I have to patch up my door and I wish the door handle would be slightly longer.

Designed for multipoint locks but I have a fix for mortice latch use 1. Very nicely packaged and looks and feels good quality.2. Keypad works well but fingerprint hit and miss (just like ipad for old fingers). Keys work.3. The recommended app works well.4. Handbook/user manual quite disappointing.4.1 It says batteries are included - I did not expect any - none are supplied.4.2 It says a cable extender is included - not necessary - not supplied4.3 The kit of screws, spindles, stubs supplied is different to the list in the manual. And most are not used - confusing. The manual should probably give more information on this.4.4 The manual does not say which screw or stub to use - especially when two Allen key screws and a fitting Allen key are supplied.....and are not used. Another diagram appears to be using a larger Allen key with a crossheaded screw to reverse the handles.4.5 Lithium or alkaline batteries are recommended - I am surprised that one type is not better than the other - but Simpled are the experts!!! I will checkout both during the next year or so.4.6 The manual only seems to deal with multipoint locks although mortice locks are mentioned as usable.5. I bought the lock for an internal door from my garage into the house and just wanted some simple entrance protection when the up and over garage door was open - so I just needed to essentially replace the current handles which opened the door latch. So I followed the instructions to fit the Simpled lock. However it did not provide any security at all - why - well it appears that the latch of my old lock could be opened by lifting or lowering the door handle and this means when the Simpled door lock handle is locked - raising the outside handle undoes the latch. This facility is usually to engage a dead bolt - but is incompatible with the latch I have just described. I contacted Simpled with the problem and suggested a possible solution....I did get a quick reply but it asked for a video..not helpful and not technical. The instructions mandate that the arrow on the spindle receptor is pointed to the handle. However for me this did not work (see above) as raising the locked handle opened the door. I therefore tried other positions and found that having the arrow pointing upwards solved the problem. I have told Simpled about the problem and the solution - I await their comments. It all now works nicely
