My parents recently became patients of Dr Kundlas because their HMO plan leaves very few options in Highlands County. While they were establishing care, one of my parents was hospitalized and discharged with home health orders. Despite repeated attempts, Dr Kundlas’ office refused to complete the prior authorization for three weeks after the hospital release.
I was forced to go to the office only after my mother showed clear signs of decline and significant weakness. Only then, after unnecessary delay and avoidable risk to her health, did the office provide an appointment and finally submit the authorization. The situation was entirely preventable and should never have been allowed to escalate.
In addition, the office staff has repeatedly shown a lack of empathy and professionalism. Basic clinical responsibilities were ignored: vital signs such as weight and blood pressure were not taken, medications were not reviewed, no chest auscultation exam or other essential assessments were performed. These are fundamental elements of patient care, and failing to perform them is unacceptable.
The pattern of negligence, lack of urgency, and disregard for patient well-being is deeply concerning. No family should have to fight this hard for minimum standard of care.

If a zero was available that would have been my choice! Wait weeks/months for referels. Do more labs to be seen when they were just completed. Drive to them to get prescriptions filled after a week and somehow it is the Pharmacy's fault. This place is a joke
