Loved it, in a traditional quiet area, approx 30 mins down to the Danube but everything is in walking distance if you like roaming around.
Room was immaculate & loved the rain shower, it was nice to have a kitchen to have a proper coffee or tea but you could also cook if you felt the need.
Met Suzanna the property manager a couple of times but her responses prior to arriving were prompt & thorough.
Budapest is 😍
Overall, my experience was good. The rooms are spacious, and the check-in process was smooth; however, you need to contact the property owner at least one day before arrival so they can send you the access details.
Each room has its own private bathroom, and there is a shared kitchen that is fully equipped and convenient to use.
One downside was that the bed sheets were not very clean, so I would recommend bringing a disposable bed sheet if cleanliness is a priority for you.
The building entrance itself is not very welcoming and looks quite old, but the apartment is more modern and nicely maintained inside.
The neighborhood is good and safe, very close to the metro station, and only about a 5-minute walk from Oktogon Square, which is a big plus for getting around.
I made a reservation to this hotel months ago by giving my credit card details on booking.com to “secure” my reservation. Property cancelled my reservation on the day I arrive to Budapest and gave my room to someone else during the day. They mentioned in their offer that check-in is possible until 20:00, but even I arrived at to 19:00, property owner said that this is not an “hotel”, it’s too late now, and i need to find another place to stay. They hang up the phone to my face. Later on, they accepted my free cancellation request but i had to find another place to stay after 19:30 during Sziget festival, even i made the reservation few months ago as “non-refundable”. Not a good experience, therefore not recommended. Especially if you might arrive a bit late in the day.
Vi racconto la mia esperienza: prenotazione effettuata prima di Natale 2024. Partenza per Budapest 30/04/2025. Tutto andava bene fino a quando la domenica (il mercoledì si partiva) ci scrive l’host dicendoci che non andava bene il nostro orario di check in perché loro lo effettuano fino alle 8. Chiediamo di lasciarci le chiavi fuori e riusciamo a trovare un accordo. La mattina del giorno della partenza alle h. 11 ci chiama la ragazza dell’agenzia dalla quale Abbiamo prenotato il viaggio dicendoci che l’host non era disponibile a lasciarci le chiavi e quindi avremmo dovuto dormire una notte cercando altro. Ho chiamato Serenity Boutique che non mi ha risposto, per e-mail mi ha letteralmente aggredita dicendo che non capivo, che avrei dovuto leggere bene, non era un problema loro e di dirle se dal giorno dopo dormivano comunque lì per il resto del soggiorno oppure no. Ci siamo arrangiati e abbiamo dovuto dormire altrove (ponte del 1 maggio immaginate i costi delle camere!). Il giorno dopo chiedo se è possibile lasciare i bagagli nel la stanza visto che l’avevamo già anche pagata e ci dice che il check in se ci andava bene era nel pomeriggio, non c’era possibilità di lasciare i bagagli la mattina (l’avevano sicuramente occupata per quella notte con altra gente). Orario concordato pomeriggio dopo le 3. Verso le 11:30 ci chiama la ragazza dicendo “sbrigatevi perché la mia collega sarà lì a mezzogiorno solo per voi e quindi vedete di esserci altrimenti niente check in”. Noi dall’altra parte della città avevamo iniziato a visitare ci siamo catapultati visto che ci aspettavano. Una volta entrati la ragazza ci ha fatto le foto ai documenti, ci ha indicato la porta d’ingresso della stanza e letteralmente augurato buona fortuna. Lasciamo perdere viste le avventure dei due giorni prima, alla fine del soggiorno il check out era prefissato entro ora di pranzo. Noi usciamo per fare le ultime cose, pensando di rientrare verso le 11 recuperare bagagli e aspettare il taxi per l’aeroporto. Alle 9 ci chiama “spero che voi abbiate preso i bagagli io devo pulire, altrimenti c’è un luggage x le valigie a 10 minuti dalla boutique dovete metterle lì”. Noi di corsa andare a recuperarle, nessuno ci ha dato indicazioni su dove lasciare le chiavi, il palazzo era sempre aperto e anche la porta della boutique, quindi non ci siamo sentiti neanche al sicuro.
Esperienza orribile, non lo consiglierei mai!!!
A szállás üzletvezetője az utolsó pillanatban mondta vissza a szállást, számomra az én színvonalomon aluli, hisztis hangszinten. Mivel megengedtem magamnak felhívni, s megerősíteni az időpontot egy nappal az utazás előtt.
Hozzáteszem, megerősíteni azért szerettem volna, mert a hölgy minden áron igyekezett kikerülni a booking oldalt, bármilyen előleg számla kifizetése nélkül.
Ha itt foglaltok szállást, ajánlom, hogy foglaljatok biztonság kedvéért máshol is szállást.
Ha ilyen módon komunikál a vendégekkel, akkor előre sajnálom az alkalmazottait. Ezer hotelben tettünk már foglalást, de ez, kritikán aluli.
My friend and I loved our stay at Serenity! Serenity Boutique isn't a hotel, as they describe accurately on Booking.com. It is run in a self-catering style so you can come and go freely as you would in your home. You have access to the kitchen to make meals etc and also have a mini fridge in your room. The host met us on on arrival and was available if we needed assistance. We had a slight issue with the aircon in our room and she sorted it out very quickly.
Pros:
• Excellent location, within walking distance to the main areas
• Apartment was very quiet and peaceful
• Self catering with aircon
• Spacious, modern rooms with comfortable beds
Cons:
• Only provided with 1 towel each (+ 1 small hand towel)
• One shower head was very slow and the other smaller shower head was broken
• Bins weren't emptied in kitchen area, toilet roll wasn't replenished
• Some other guests weren't locking the main front door properly at night which didn't feel safe
*Edit for host: these are not complaints! We really enjoyed our stay and thought we would point out a few small areas for improvement 🙂

I don't understand how this place can be rated more than 3 stars. The room was good looking, but the beds are really narrow and the pillows are insanely uncomfortable. I slept less than 3 hours per night, with pain in my back and cervical. The bathroom has no hooks to hang towels, clothes and necessaire, the water leaks all over the floor. Not to mention the lack of service at all. Not even the kindness of good recommendations of restaurants or balnearios we had, despite of what was obviously found in Google. Ah, besides the check in to be at 15h and the check out at 10h (really???), we couldn't leave the luggage there until our flight at 16h, we had to pay for it in another place. Awful accommodation and service
The only thing that saved, was the location. RUN!
C’est notre 3e séjour dans cette maison d’hôte/hôtel on ne sait pas trop comment qualifier cet appartement constitué de 4 chambres autonomes et d’un espace cuisine commun.
Nous sommes en autonomie complète une fois les formalités remplies. Si nous avons besoin de changer le linge il faut envoyer un message à la personne qui nous a reçu.
Cela nous convient car nous pouvons disposer de la cuisine bien équipée pour préparer nos repas. Seul bémol, il ne faut pas déplacer les objets ça ne plait pas à la propriétaire même si il ne sont pas placés de façon ergonomique et il faut nettoyer la cuisine régulièrement.
La literie est très confortable, l'endroit est calme, proche du centre, la salle de bains vieillit mal, attention !!
Estuvimos alojadas 4 noches y el tema de la limpieza deja mucho que desear. La habitación y cocina es tal y como se ve en las fotos, pero limpieza ninguna… no pasan a limpiar ni un solo día, y no cambian ni toallas ni sábanas… tampoco te la hacen, por supuesto. Le pedimos por favor un cambio de toallas el último día pues ya estaban sucias y nos dijeron que aquello lo era un hotel, que no nos la cambiaban!!! Si no queréis tener servicios de hotel, que no los vendan como tal y mínimo informar de que los servicios de limpieza brillan por su ausencia!!!
