I cannot say enough about Melissa Scartelli and her law firm. If you are looking for an attorney who truly cares about her clients and treats you like a person instead of just another case number, I highly recommend her.
I first came across Melissa during an extremely difficult emergency involving a family member. I was overwhelmed, scared, and honestly did not know what to do or who to call. I had contacted other attorneys, and some seemed too busy to speak with me or said they would call me back and never did.
Then I found Melissa. She did not know me. She did not even know the full details of my situation yet, but she stayed on the phone with me, listened to what I was going through, and helped guide me through what I needed to do. She helped me understand who I needed to contact, including the police and the funeral home. During one of the hardest moments my family had experienced, she took the time to help us when she did not have to.
That told me immediately what kind of attorney and what kind of person she was. Throughout my case, Melissa and her firm made me feel comfortable and supported. They walked me through the process and made sure I understood what was happening.

Thanks to their relentless fight and attention to detail, we secured great compensation. I hope not to need an injury attorney again, however, I know where I would go, and I know where you should go if you do!

This man is a prosecutor at heart, not a defense attorney. I'm sure he does fine with car accidents or DUIs but if you have anything more serious than that, don't waste your money on this guy. He made promises that he had no intention of keeping just to get a non-refundable deposit for his services, which isn't even how most lawyers operate (retainers can usually be refunded depending on the amount of work the lawyer does on the case so you only pay for the work that was actually done, but this guy makes his retainer non-refundable, or at least did in this case so he didn't do the $200,000 worth of work he was paid for then kept all of it). He doesn't listen to his clients or consider what they want because he thinks he's always the smartest person in any room. He promised my fiancee that he wouldn't spend another day in jail for his charges and that he was capable of defending him before he took the retainer but then when it was down to the wire he told him he couldn't defend him at trial and it was better to take a plea deal. But he got his money based on promises he reneged on after the fact. And then said it didn't matter to him what happened because when it's over he'll just "move on to the next case". He doesn't care about his clients or his practice. He only cares about money. And now my fiancee is sitting in prison for a crime he didn't commit because we decided to trust the wrong person. Save your money and go to someone better and NEVER let a lawyer take a non-refundable deposit from you because it's just a trap.
-EDITED TO ADD* that I've attempted to contact Olszewski with my concerns multiple times both recently and 9 months ago but received no reponse. I SHOULD have been "involved in the matter described" being that I was 100% involved in the events that lead up to it and provided a large amount of evidence that Olszewski said in the beginning was great but then, after being told by my fiancé's parents that he shouldn't speak to me because I didn't pay him, he changed up to saying that it just made my fiancé look bad and he "didn't understand" the relevance of it so he wasn't going to use any of it...but then still made no attempt to speak with me or clear up the misunderstandings he seemed to have or to respond to the multiple times I tried to contact him. Even if I wasn't used as an official witness, the information I had to offer was still relevant and could very reasonably have been helpful had I ever been interviewed. My fiancé even asked Olszewski to speak with me or to have his private investigator speak with me and gave them my contact information, but still no attempt to speak with me was made at any point.
Olszewski also seems to have a problem with returning to me the evidence that I gave him, considering I've contacted his office three times requesting it, only to be told that an email was sent to Olszewski about it but he's been "too busy" to simply send an email. He wouldn't have to collect the evidence himself to get it to me; he has a paralegal that would be able to do it. The thing he's apparently too busy to do is just send an email back to his secretary or paralegal saying that she can give it to me being that I gave it to him in the first place and I've already said that I could get something from my fiancé saying that it's okay to give it to me if that was necessary. It's now been over a week and I still haven't been contacted regarding my request. I wonder why he isn't willing to do that for me?
That was a very professional and carefully worded reply that did nothing more than imply that I have no idea what I'm talking about and attempt to discredit me, which Olszewski is very good at doing since his biggest mentioned issue with me and reason for why he believed nobody would listen to me was just the color of my hair, even after I agreed to wear a wig. If you're interested in more insight or information, I would be happy to speak with anybody who's considering hiring Attorney Olszewski.

If you havnt experienced paralyzation or amputation don’t even bother calling. Save yourself the time with intake that took forever just to be asked if I had an amputation or if I’m paralyzed. Was rude anyway, just cuts you off as you’re trying to explain an obviously terrible situation to experience. Find better representation.

Everyone we dealt with in their office: Attorney Melissa Scartelli, Annmarie, Patrick and Tony were very efficient and courteous.
