I have been going to SDP singe 2020 and always well looked after. I have two check ups and hygienist appointments a year. Recently had to have a tooth removed and two old filling refurbished. It is expensive but worth it in my view.

Welcoming, warm and friendly

I am quite nervous about going to the dentist due to negative experiences at previous surgeries. Heidi at Savernake has always been incredibly patient and gentle, explaining everything and helping me remain calm. I can’t recommend her highly enough. The surgery is always clean and comfortable and all other Staff seem equally knowledgeable and helpful. They all make a potentially stressful necessity as easy as possible.

Great location and parking, lots of staff who are very helpful with quick on line responses. The dental treatment was professional and your made to feel relaxed and comfortable as possible , a much better experience than my previous dental practice .

More organised, efficient and professional service from the receptions staff. Helpful and accommodating when answering queries. The dentists, nurses and consultants have always been superb! Good and clear explanations and discussion about dental hygiene and options available. It’s made clear that the person in the chair is involved in the decision making.

Dreadful is an understatement. Olivia carried out the procedure - dental splinting - and it completely failed - Subsequent visits, a bit more was done and still I was left in pain and discomfort. This was done as me being an NHS patient I would like to add. I was then told when I contacted the practice again that it would have to be looked at, as a private patient which could be very expensive. I was dismayed, you hear about people getting dental treatment done privately (often abroad) and it going wrong and the NHS sorting it but this is NHS doing it wrong and then telling me I will have to pay to have it put right - privately… I put in a complaint as I felt I needed to and Julia Wells the practice manager did get back to me promptly saying she would reply fully in 14 days(their own procedures on their website say 10 days!)and she did which was great, however it was only to say that sorry Olivia (the dentist) hasn’t got back to me yet and also Flora another dentist (I haven’t seen in 3 or more years) hasn’t got back to me so nothing I can do for another couple of weeks… I’ve now contacted the ICB and ombudsman as I do believe that I should not be left in pain indefinitely while Julia Wells and Olivia decide my fate PS my experience is as an NHS patient and privately it could well be different, although I did see a hygienist a few years ago £60 for a 10 minute appointment and 7 of those minutes she told me how you should brush your teeth! There are many other dental practices locally, so perhaps just choose another dental practice as why would you want to risk using this one ???
