Everything here seems carefully designed and thought out to get you relaxing and having a good time.
Cooked the night before and have lots of dishes? There's a dishwasher, just load it up and get out there!
Thinking of doing some hiking but don't know the area? All trails are well signposted and come with information on elevation and difficulty.
Want to hang out by the dam? There's a zipline and canoes.
Want to relax and unwind? There's a hammock supplied and the rooms are cool and comfortable.
In short it's the perfect getaway stay for a short weekend or long holiday.

Had an incredible experience at Rusty Gate with colleagues, surrounded by the most beautiful and serene views. The units are so beautiful and have really good beds and bedding. The walking/running trails are amazing. The food provided was also excellent, these chefs know what they're doing!

A gem for bigger groups
What a great and beautiful venue. The owners were very accommodating, the conference setup was amazing and the cottages were very comfortable. They even helped us with finding a caterer. Can't wait to go back. We did the hikes and trail runs and the views were next level.

Amazing facilities, beautiful views
We had a fantastic 2-day corporate retreat here, and everyone had a blast. The facilities are great and the cabins are very well-appointed. The views are breathtaking and I especially enjoyed the diversity of books available for reading.

Wonderful venue, super well furnished cottages, good finishings, amazing hiking trail, big damn to kayak in, butterflies everywhere. The hiking trail was quite easy and there are many options, there are some trail running lines too. Overall awesome spot!

The most memorable experience with a team I've ever had! Beautiful facilities, great food, scenic hiking trails and great staff. The accommodation had every attention to detail - my favourite being the easy to set fireplaces. I'll be back with my family & friends for sure.

Rusty Gate is one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in the Western Cape. The views are astounding, the dam is wonderful for swimming, and the chalets and main house are very well maintained, comfortable and convenient. Cannot recommend highly enough :)

What an absolutely beautiful amazing stunning, breathtaking, venue……We fell in-love with the place as soon as we entered. The views, the hikes (Omw, I could hike for days in those valleys) the dam, kayaking (we couldn’t get enough of it😁)….the venue it self, everything you need for a self catering venue and a game room to keep kids busy…A special thank you to Bokkie and his crew that was so helpful and friendly.We would definitely be back👌🏽…..#tranquility!

Group cycle tour stay
Rusty gate formed part of a cycle tour through the Western Cape and was a fantastic culmination to the tour. The facilities are more than any group can hope for and were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The kitchen and general entertainment areas are of a high standard and accommodated our group with ease. The activities on the property also catered for all levels of adventure and the slide into the dam is a must. I will definitely recommend Rysrty Gate.

Home away from home
Rusty Gate is an awesome getaway from Cape Town. Based up in the mountains with spectacular views of the countryside down below in the valley, for those from KZN this is the closest we’ve found to the feeling of being in the Berg. The units are really well setup, with everything you could need to make your stay that much more comfortable. For us as family, the trails had enough for all of us, and the lake with the kayaks and ziplining was an awesome spot to chill out for the afternoon. Will be back again soon…

A VIEW TO DIE FOR
You seldom come across places as beautiful as this. Rooms are compact but have everything you need. Large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Perhaps could use ceiling fans in bedrooms for summer (it will also keep mosquitoes and bugs at bay on hot summer nights). Definitely coming back.

The best place to "find" yourself in the presence of the mountains. Absolute 5 star treatment, stay in a 5 star apartment, with the mountains, hiking trials and huge "swimming pool" including a trick slide over the dam. Bokkie Fourie, the owner of the farm, is the most heart warming person you can ever ask for as a host. He is just there where you want him to be. An absolute MUST on a nature lover,s bucket list
