This place is a rare gem. Simple, old-fashioned, high-quality, homemade Caribbean/Latino classics, excellent empanadas, plus a whole world of baked goods. Friendly service. Everything’s good. Exactly the type of place we all whine about missing after it’s gone. Closed Sundays.Go there now. Highly recommended.
Rossy’s Bakery is handing its first loss since 1954, which was the last time the inflation rate decreased YOY. $8.50 for a small plate and $12 for a large of dominican style home cooked food in Lower Manhattan is a STEAL.
You get a full plate of chicken, rice, beans, and plantains. $3 for one of these fat Empanadas too. Legendary.
I’m a rotisserie chicken snob, so I’d be lying if I said this was the best chicken I’ve ever had, but it was pretty damn good. It’s a clean meal that brought me back to homeostasis. I’d give it a 8.3 out of 10.
Meals like Rossy’s are so important to have in your weekly rotation. Thank you Rossy’s, I’ll be back!!

Dominican breakfast & lunch spot on a parked sleepy street in Alphabet City. small menu of bakery items, sandwiches, rice + and protein platters from the hot bar, and more. haven’t grabbed food here in a bit, but the food is solidly food and wallet-friendly…and you get to enjoy a bit of authentic eats from Dominican / Caribbean side of the ABCs. last time, i stopped by here—grabbed an iced coffee bc it’s quick and the coffee gets refreshed often, so it did its job of caffeinating and cooling me off on a summer afternoon. the bakery provides a lot options when you need quick calories on the go. the people who run Rossy’s are friendly and continue to make this a neighborhood spot for residents and newcomers alike.
