I’ve just spent an incredible 2 days undertaking a 2 day progressive white water course with Dan Daley in Dartmoor. The experience from booking the course through to completion is seamless. Dan checks to make sure all participants are achieving their personal goals and objectives and subsequently tailors the course to ensure those needs are met and ensures feedback is personal to you throughout the day. End of Nov 2023 attended a two day Advanced White Water Safety & Rescue course with Darren Joy and Dan Daley:- excellently delivered boat based 'safety tactics day' on upper dart at a 'feisty' level AND equally professional steep ground access, live bait and ropework day to follow. Both Darren and Dan showed deep technical knowledge, really good 'soft skills' and clear communication aligned with modern coaching. Highly recommended.

I had a fantastic 2 days training in the new BC White Water Safety course with Rock the Boat Activities. Our coach Dan was absolutely brilliant! His knowledge and experience is immense and the manner in which he delivers the training is awesome - fun, enthusiastic, engaging and you really feel he buys into your journey. I had an amazing time on the white water improvers course . It was very well organised, both prior to the event and during the weekend and the coaches were excellent. They were fun and supportive and interested in everyone’s individual development. The coaches created an environment where we we keen to challenge ourselves and practice the new skills we had learnt. The group and the coaches bonded well on the river and in the pub afterwards! Overall I feel that during the course of the weekend I went from ‘someone who goes kayaking’ to ‘A Kayaker’ . Highly recommended.

The course was spot on, I learnt so much about safety/equipment and paddling on the water. Dan was a great host being very informative and patient, he made everyone feel at ease and ready for the challenge ahead. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rock the boat activities to anyone.

Our two day WWSR course was a great overall experience. Dan the lead instructor was totally current up to date with all aspects of knowledge he delivered, demonstrated and coached all the activities in a calm positive and reassuring manner giving everyone constructive feedback and tips on everything we did. We spent time in the boats learning how to avoid incidents and better reading the river and each others capabilities to ensure we all gained and had positive experience paddling then and on future trips at our individual levels and also in the river learning and practicing safe access and recuse of fellow paddlers. Dan was happy and proactive all the way through, the days flew past and left me wanting to go back. All our club members learnt something new and gained from the experience that Dan has throughout this course. I would totally recommend booking a course with Dan and Rock the boat activities whatever level paddler you are. Thank you Dan Great course. Kind regards Steve

Absolutely fantastic training! Very useful for paddlers of all grades, especially those developing like myself. Dan was a complete legend and made us feel very at ease, meaning we could push ourselves outside of our comfort zones without any pressure. Great content on both days and has really improved my confidence in whitewater safety.

The White Water Safety course delivered by Dan Daley of Rock the Boat is simply fantastic. A huge amount of learning is neatly packed into two days. It is challenging but fun, with plenty of time on the water both in boats and out of them! Our group’s peer paddles will undoubtedly be safer from now on. Totally recommended!
