James helped completely transform our dog Luna who had anxiety/ aggression with other dogs. We are able to walk her comfortably now and with confidence!
Acadia, what a difference James helped create for Luna. Being able to head out for a walk without bracing for the next stressful moment changes so much, both for the dog and the person holding the leash.
Ridgeside K9 is grateful you trusted James with her. Seeing Luna move through the world with more confidence and control is exactly the kind of progress we hope for.

The 3-week board and train program that Ridgeside K9 offers is top notch!! We sent our 7-month-old mini Goldendoodle (Bailey) to this program and were blown away with the results and progress that she made. Her trainer, Danny, was professional, knowledgeable, punctual and patient with all our questions before, during and after the training. We appreciated the almost 4 hours he spent with us when he brought her back to our house after training to ensure we understood and were comfortable with the techniques he used. Getting our dog trained through Ridgeside K9 was the best decision we ever made!
Susan, calling Ridgeside K9 the best decision you made is an incredible compliment. Danny will truly appreciate your kind words.
The time he spent making sure your family felt comfortable and prepared after Bailey’s three-week board and train is just as important as the work he did with her. That kind of patience and follow through is what helps the progress continue once a dog is back home.
Thank you for trusting Danny with Bailey and for recognizing the care he put into the entire experience.
Deanna Di Silvio2026.06.06
Both Lori and James were great! They both went above and beyond with communications so we never had to wonder what our girl was doing every day while she was away. Lori did a thorough job showing us all the training she taught Charlie over the weeks. We have been so impressed now that she is back, she is so great with recall and manners! Can’t recommend Lori enough!
Deanna, everyone at Ridgeside K9 will be so happy to read this, especially Lori and James. Knowing you never had to wonder how Charlie was doing while she was away is exactly how the experience should feel. Lori also took real care in making sure you understood how to keep the training consistent once Charlie came home.
Seeing her recall and manners carry over into everyday life is the best part. We appreciate you trusting our team with your girl and giving Lori such a thoughtful shoutout.

Had our dog go for a two week board and train with Lori and James. They have been so great with our pup. He’s like a brand new dog even after two weeks. We were on the verge of having to give him up but the training reset has been amazing. They are responsive and answer any and all questions from a very anxious owner. Could not recommend enough!
Sarah, Ridgeside K9 is grateful you trusted Lori and James with your pup. Knowing your family was close to making such a hard decision, and that two weeks of board and train helped bring real relief, is something our team does not take lightly.
Lori and James will be so glad to hear the training reset made life feel more manageable and gave you hope again. Their patience, communication, and willingness to answer every question are a big part of helping owners feel supported, especially when the process feels emotional or overwhelming.
Thank you for sharing this and for giving Ridgeside K9 the chance to help your dog stay where he belongs, with the family who loves him.

Ridgeside was recommended to us by a neighbor with a very well mannered dog. We have a 4 yo Bluetick Coonhound that had a few issues that we couldn't get past on our own. Initially we checked out the Ridgeside Instagram account and then after contacting them for additional information we decided to sign Flossie up for the 3 week board & train program. We were given our trainer's contact info in case we had any questions or wanted additional info prior to the start date. Gina picked up Flossie and for the next three weeks we got pictures and videos every day of Flossie's training progress plus also information for us to learn about the training. All of this made the transition back home easy and seamless. Gina's instructions were clear and concise and she also made sure that we understood the hows and the whys of training. Since Flossie has been home Gina reached out to see how things were going and said she was available if we had any follow up questions.
We are very happy with the outcome and feel the training really firmed up our loosey goosey training up to that point. Gina gave Flossie the foundational training she needed in order for us to meet our goals with Flossie and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.
James worked so well with Arlo to build his confidence with every day life! Arlo walks a lot better around his triggers and is able to better control himself through them!
Anjali, Ridgeside K9 is grateful you trusted James with Arlo. Building confidence around everyday triggers can make such a difference, and it is wonderful to know Arlo is walking better and staying more composed when those moments come up.
James will be glad to hear the work is showing up in real life. Thank you for letting us be part of Arlo’s progress.

We are thrilled with our experience with Ridgeside K9 NOVA. Our trainer James welcomed our sweet but reactive dog into his three week board and train program and the results were exceptional (and continue to appear as he experiences everyday triggers at home). We’ve noticed significant improvement with lease pulling, animal reactivity, front door excitement, and general impulse control. Rewards are now earned and commands are followed. James dedicated himself and his expertise to our dog every day and displayed genuine care and commitment to his development. James also sent daily updates and progress videos and photos to keep us at ease. His commitment didn’t end there as James spent several hours with us after the program to train us how to apply all the training at home. We look forward to continue working with James in the future and will recommend him and the company to our friends, family, and neighbors. Thank you, Ridgeside K9!
Helen, Ridgeside K9 NOVA truly appreciates this. James will be proud to read how much his work has helped your dog settle into everyday life with more control and clarity.
Reactive dogs need more than a list of commands. They need structure, patience, and an owner who feels prepared once the dog comes home. James put that care into the three-week board and train, from the daily updates to the time he spent making sure you knew how to keep the progress going at home.
We are so glad the changes are continuing to show up around real-life triggers, from leash walking to front door manners and impulse control. Thank you for trusting James and Ridgeside K9 NOVA with your dog. We are excited to keep supporting you both as you continue working together.

My 3 month old German Shepherd puppy, Ryker, just completed his phase 1 of the ultimate training package with Danny. Danny was great at keeping me updated with Ryker’s daily training progress as well as providing pictures and videos every day. Danny was fabulous! So glad he is Ry’s trainer!!! This is my second German Shepherd I’ve entrusted Ridgeside K9 with and they never disappoint!! I would recommend them to anyone. Ryker came home a different boy. Fabulous experience again!!!!
Laura, Ridgeside K9 loves hearing that Ryker is off to such a strong start. Danny will be thrilled to know phase 1 of the Ultimate Training Package felt like another great experience for your family.
Trusting us with a second German Shepherd says a lot, and we do not take that lightly. The daily updates, photos, and videos are there to make sure you feel connected to the process while your puppy is learning. It is wonderful to know Ryker came home with noticeable progress and that you feel confident having Danny as his trainer.
Thank you for continuing to trust Ridgeside K9 with your dogs. We are excited to see Ryker keep building from here.

Bernie and his family are outstanding trainers. Brilliant training but just as importantly they treated my dog like a member of their own family. He is eight months old with high energy. Stayed with them for three weeks. They took such good care of him, and he came home happy and lively... and transformed! His off-leash recall is excellent which was my top priority: I feel totally confident with him off the leash now. And he is doing great with place and wait and other commands, and he has been acclimated to crowds and public places and very well socialized. I cannot recommend Bernie highly enough. My dog clearly adores him and he did amazing work. If you are considering any professional training, do not hesitate.
Tori, Ridgeside K9 is lucky to have this kind of feedback for Bernie and his family. It says so much that your dog came home happy, confident, and still full of life, while also having the off leash recall and structure you were hoping for.
Bernie will be proud to know that his care made just as much of an impression as the training itself. That balance matters, especially with a young, high energy dog who needs both guidance and a place where he feels safe. We are so glad the three week board and train gave you more freedom, more confidence, and a dog you can enjoy in more places.
Thank you for trusting Ridgeside K9 and Bernie with him. We truly appreciate the kind words and the confidence you placed in our team.

100% worth it. My five-year old Dogo Argentino, Mojave, did the three-week board/train program with Zach.
I needed help with basic obedience, recall, and appropriate behavior on public outings and contact with other dogs. Zach did an absolutely comprehensive program and kept in touch daily with photos, videos, and updates.
Mojave was happy, well cared for, and trained with Zach on multiple public outings in a variety of settings. Zach returned Mojave to me fully trained (it was IMPRESSIVE) and then spent the day training ME. Zach also offered to train Mojave with my husband (who is out of state at the moment) and reassured me that I can reach out at any time with questions/concerns.
I’m only in VA temporarily but am so happy we had the opportunity to have Zach train Mojave! Absolutely recommend!
Erin, Ridgeside K9 is so glad Mojave had the chance to work with Zach while you were here in Virginia. A five-year-old Dogo Argentino is not exactly a “small project,” and it is great to know the three-week board and train gave you the obedience, recall, and public outing skills you were looking for.
Zach will appreciate the way you described the process. The daily updates, real-world practice, and public exposure all matter, but the part that really stands out is him spending the day with you after training so you feel prepared too. That owner coaching is what helps the work hold up once the dog is home.
We are also glad Mojave was happy and well cared for throughout the program. Thank you for trusting Ridgeside K9 and Zach with him, and we are here if questions come up while you keep building on his progress.

5-Star Review: Ridgeside K9 Transformed Our Wild 7-Month-Old Weimaraner into the Perfect Family Dog!
We cannot recommend Ridgeside K9 highly enough! We sent our energetic, 7-month-old Weimaraner pup, Bluey, for their 3-week board-and-train program, and he came back as an entirely new dog. What a game-changer. Bluey went from a chaotic, pulling, jumping, barely-listening whirlwind to a calm, focused, obedient companion that the whole family absolutely loves having around. In just three weeks!
A massive shoutout to Danny — he is an absolute rockstar and the consummate professional. You can tell he is truly in his element when working with dogs. Danny has that rare combination of deep expertise, patience, and genuine passion for what he does. He didn’t just train Bluey; he built real communication and trust. The results speak for themselves: Bluey now has excellent leash manners, rock-solid recall, impulse control that makes him safe and enjoyable in any environment, and a level of focus and calmness we never thought possible with a young Weim.
The detailed turnover and on-site teaching when Danny brought Bluey home was outstanding — easily one of the best parts of the whole experience. He spent several hours with us, walking us through everything step-by-step: commands, e-collar use (which was introduced positively and effectively), handling techniques, and real-world scenarios. He coached us hands-on in our own neighborhood so we felt confident continuing the training. It wasn’t rushed at all — Danny made sure we “got it” and even followed up to answer questions. This owner-education focus is what sets Ridgeside K9 apart and ensures the results last.
We’ve seen so many similar glowing reviews from other families — daily photo/video updates during training, personalized plans that fit the dog’s personality and family lifestyle, and trainers who treat your pup like their own. The emphasis on engagement-driven, conflict-free methods that build a stronger bond really shines through. Bluey is now a joy on walks, calm in the house, and a pleasure to take places. No more pulling, door charging, or selective hearing — just a happy, well-mannered dog who listens and thrives.
If you’re on the fence about board-and-train, especially with a high-energy breed like a Weimaraner, do it. Ridgeside K9 (and Danny in particular) delivered beyond our expectations. Lifetime support, refresher options, and a true transformation — this is the real deal. Thank you, Danny and the whole Ridgeside K9 team! You’ve made our family life so much better.
Zach, this is the kind of review Danny will probably read twice. Ridgeside K9 appreciates you trusting us with Bluey and giving the three-week board and train process a real chance. A young Weimaraner with that much energy needs more than a few commands. He needs clarity, consistency, and someone who can turn all that drive into something useful. Danny clearly helped Bluey get there.
What stands out most is that your whole family feels the difference now. Walks are easier, the house is calmer, and Bluey still sounds happy and full of personality, just with better manners and more self-control. The time Danny spent coaching you through the handoff, e-collar use, and neighborhood practice is exactly what helps the training hold up after the dog comes home.
Thank you for recognizing Danny’s work and the care our team puts into each board and train. We are so glad Bluey is easier to enjoy at home, on walks, and out in the real world.

We had a great experience working with K9. They were patient, knowledgeable, and really helped us with our doodle puppy. We saw a huge improvement in behavior, listening skills, and overall confidence. They also gave us practical tips that were easy to continue at home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for help with a new puppy!
Sarah, Ridgeside K9 is happy to hear your doodle puppy is doing so well. Puppy life can get messy fast, so seeing better behavior, stronger listening skills, and more confidence is a great sign that the work is carrying over at home.
We are glad the guidance felt practical and easy to continue after training. That is such an important part of puppy development because the real progress happens in the everyday moments, not just during formal sessions.
Thank you for choosing Ridgeside K9 and for taking the time to leave such a kind review. We are excited to see your pup keep building on this foundation.

I can’t say enough good things about Brandi and Perry Bailey of RSK9. Their work has given my pup and I so much freedom and balance. Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn’t find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9’s 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it’s made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice.
This isn’t a regular class or something you just pay for; it’s truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together.
Side note: it’s worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!
Josh, this is the kind of review that makes the long training days at Ridgeside K9 feel extra worth it. Brandi and Perry will be so happy to know the three week program helped Pebbles find more clarity, balance, and actual rest at home. That is such a big deal, especially for a smart, intense dog who needed more than basic commands.
Your point about training being an investment is exactly right. The goal is not just a dog who listens for a few weeks. It is a dog and owner who can communicate better for the life they share together. The daily photo and video updates are part of that too, because owners deserve to see the work happening and feel connected while their dog is away.
For families across Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, and the greater DC area, our board and train programs focus on real life obedience, impulse control, leash manners, and owner coaching that carries over at home. We appreciate you trusting Brandi and Perry with Pebbles and giving her the chance to thrive.

The summer, we sent my 3 year old Golden Retriever to a 3-week board and train with Brandi and Perry. My dog, Harper, was dealing with leash reactivity to other dogs, counter surfing, and other bad behaviors at home and on walks.
Every day they sent photo and video updates of Harper and made sure all my questions were answers. If I ever needed anything, they would respond within minutes. You could tell from the photo updates and from meeting them that they absolutely loved dogs and would do anything to help them be safe. I fully trusted that they would take care of Harper and were doing the right thing to train her.
On turnover day, Perry spent hours training us all the information we needed to handle the dog and use the e-collar so her training continued at home. We then worked with both trainers in our neighborhood to learn the e-collar and how to handle our dog.
My dog has been home 2.5 weeks now and has been an absolute joy to take on walks. We no longer fear she will be reactive to other dogs and she is completely under control. Her dog walkers are SO happy too.
Her behavior at home is a complete 180 - no counter surfing, always staying at place when we need her to be focused (like during human meal time), and finally no barking or creating distractions while I’m on zoom calls at home when she is seeking attention.
I could not give higher praise to Ridgeside K9 and Brandi & Perry for their expertise and professionalism. We now have an incredibly well-behaved dog and have fun again on walks and in the house. Our neighbors have all noticed a major difference too and have given us praise for doing the dog training.
If you’re on the fence about doing the board and train - especially if you have a reactive dog, just do it! Best investment you will make. You and your pup will have a happier life because of it.
Your review of Ridgeside K9 made our day. Brandi and Perry will be glad to know that the daily photo and video updates, fast replies, and obvious care helped you feel confident while Harper was away. The hands-on turnover, e-collar coaching, and follow-up practice in your neighborhood made it easy to maintain her progress at home. Two and a half weeks later, calm walks, solid control around other dogs, and happy dog walkers are exactly the outcomes we aim for. At home, the change is clear: no counter surfing, steady place during meals, and quiet focus during work calls.
We support families across Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William, Stafford, and Fauquier Counties with training that works in the real world. Thank you for sharing Harper’s progress and for recognizing Brandi and Perry’s expertise and professionalism.

I had a great experience with training of my 6 month old golden retriever with Kaybeth. She was punctual, professional and very nice to my puppy! He is so well behaved now thanks to Ridgeside K9 trainings, I get compliments all the time ! He is calm behaviors is as expected and follows commands !! Unbelievable how good he is compared to other dogs I see on my walks with him, I would recommend them and both his trainers Erin and Kaybeth, it was worth the time and expense. Thank you !
Sangeeta, this is wonderful to read. Ridgeside K9 is so happy your Golden Retriever is doing this well after training with Katybeth. Getting compliments on your walks is a pretty great sign that the work is showing up where it matters, in everyday life.
Katybeth will appreciate your kind words about her professionalism and care, and we are glad Erin was part of your pup’s training journey too. A calm, well behaved six month old dog who follows commands is a big win, especially at that age. Thank you for trusting Ridgeside K9 and for sharing that the training was worth the time and investment.

Brandi & Perry are amazing!! To begin with, scheduling our Phase 1 training couldn't have been easier. They made the timing work perfectly for our family and not only picked him up from our house but also delivered him to us after his training was complete. Secondly, even though this was our second dog trained by Ridgeside K9, we missed our little boy dearly while he was gone. Brandi's daily texts with pictures and updates on how he was doing were cherished by our entire family. Finally, we greatly appreciated the time Brandi spent with us and Murphy during his Phase 1 turnover. He came back to us as a different puppy...in a good way. And Brandi took much time out of her morning to make sure we were very comfortable with how to continue training Murphy. We couldn't be happier with our experience! Thank you!!
Thank you for your wonderful review, John! We are thrilled to hear that Brandi and Perry made such a positive impact on your experience. It's great to know that Max returned to you as a happier puppy! Your appreciation means a lot to us, and we look forward to supporting you and your family in the future. Thank you again!

AMAZING! Best word to describe the work that Zach put in for my 2 year old Corso rescue. Our problems were leash pulling, dog reactivity, and basic obedience. He sent me photos and videos every day!! The day he brought him back we spent about 5 hours together working through his new commands and learning how to use the e-collar as well as handle his reactive situations. He was amazing, great communication, and overall a wonderful experience.
Hannah, Zach is going to love reading this. Ridgeside K9 is grateful you trusted him with your Corso rescue, especially with the kind of leash and reactivity issues that can make daily life feel heavy fast. It is clear Zach put real time and care into the work, and the daily photos and videos helped you stay connected while your dog was with him.
That five hour turnover says a lot too. Zach did not just bring him home and leave you to figure it out. He walked you through the commands, the e collar, and how to handle those tougher moments so you felt prepared, not overwhelmed. That is what makes board and train results hold up at home.
We are so glad this felt like an amazing experience for you and that Zach helped give your dog the structure, communication, and obedience he needed.
