The 3-week board and train seriously changed my life. My dog is very high energy and has a natural instict to pull. I had issues training her to properly walk on the leash, stop countersurfing, minimize barking, stop jumping on people, etc. I constantly had shoulder pain because she would pull me so hard every time we went out. When she came back from board and train with Payton, she was a different dog altogether, still with her silly personality but much better behaved. And the more I reinforce the training, the better she gets. She gets better at leash walking the more we practice and she is generally a more controlled dog (with the occasional zoomie!). I used to get very stressed about taking her places with me because she could be very unpredictable. Now I feel confident taking her wherever and I know how to correct any bad behaviors. Payton also kept me updated on the training and sent pictures and videos every day. I missed my pup a lot but this was 110% worth it!!

My retired service dog was getting more fear reactive and aggressive. She was not adjusting to the non-work life well since she can no longer be worked how she's used to be due to medical issues. Johnnie Oakes took her for a 3 week board and train. We had a couple hiccups when she first came home as I was passing on the collar/training information to others in the home. Yesterday we were charged by another dog and she looked up at me instead of reacting. We have been able to walk past bunnies woth no reaction now as well.

Our sweet Pittie Dozer just returned from 3 weeks with Britney on Monday and I swear he's a new dog! We had two organic situations happen during turnover and the difference in Dozer's ability to maintain his behavior himself is stunning! We're able to have him out front with us just sitting in the garage while people and their pets walk by on the sidewalk! His response to the tone is usually with one tap but occasionally two. I just couldn't ask for more! I worried spending the money that it might not be worth it but I fully believe this was money well spent! Thank you Ridgeside K9 and Britney!

My boy Beau (10/11 months old yellow Labrador) went away for the four week board and train program with Zach! It was such a wonderful experience. I was anxious of course having him leave but it was so worth it. Zach was so nice and open to answering any question or concern we had. We heard about Ridgeside K9 through friends who have put their dogs through training so we decided to give it a try. Beau is such a loving, energetic, and sweet dog. He did very well as a little puppy, we were able to take him out often to places such as wineries, breweries, or parks, but as he grew he just became noncompliant and reactive. We knew that putting him in a training program would be the best option. He is such a smart and driven dog, we wanted to make sure he was well trained and safe. The day Zach came to get Beau, he explained the whole experience to us and let us have an idea of the expectations. Zach was in contact every single day, sending updates of Beau and his progress. I was so amazed at how well he was doing. Seeing him not reacting to people in the stores or while on walks was just a major shift and I was so happy to see it. At the end of the training, Zach sat down with us for about 3 hours and went over everything thoroughly. He even sent us resources that we could use to further benefit us while training at home. We also learned that any time we needed to board Beau, we were welcomed to contact Zach, which we will definitely be considering in the future. Beau just got back a few weeks ago and I am happy to say he is still his fun, loving, and crazy self, but now is safe and more controlled. He even seems less stressed, confident, and happier too. Zach did an amazing job with our boy Cas Nova. We went with the 3 week board and train package and couldn't be happier with the results. Cas is doing great, we've seen a huge improvement in his behavior. I have two young children. Prior to training, at times Cas would get a little amped up and treat my kids like his litter mates. He now understands what’s expected of him and everyone is very happy, including him. Overall it was an excellent experience, from pick up to drop off. I didn't have to take Cas anywhere, it was kind of like door dash for dog training. Zach provided updates daily. Cas even got a bath before coming home. The drop off process was also a great learning experience. Zach went over dog behavior, psychology, and transitioning of handling techniques to us. We had a great experience with Ridgeside K9! We did the 2 week board and train and Jonathan took great care of our dog, Riggs. She has learned how to heel and pay attention to our cues and commands. We feel more confident taking Riggs on walks in high stress environments. We have even been able to take her to places we have never been able to before like farmer's markets and camping! Riggs has fear based responses to other dogs and Jonathan was able to build her confidence up over the 2 week program. Jonathan did an excellent job training Riggs and educating us at turn over so we were confident carrying on what Riggs learned. Thank you Jonathan and RidgesideK9!

We took in a year-old German Shepherd-Husky mix in August and were quickly overwhelmed with his leash aggression and separation anxiety. He barked and jumped and launched himself at other dogs, which made walking him extremely stressful. We didn't know too much of his history but we did know that with four children in the house, with whom he was sweet other than the occasional play nipping, we were goin to need intervention or risk having to re-home him, which we didn't want to put him through again. I also knew training might be a risk because he'd be under stress again so soon, and then have to readjust back home once training was over. After researching Ridgeside and speaking with neighbors who had firsthand experience with a Ridgeside dog before and after training, I knew I had to risk putting Delgado under stress that might backfire or even traumatize him further. I was incredibly nervous when Zach arrived to pick him up. This was mainly due to communication lapses between filling out the forms of admission to Ridgeside and Zach coming to pick him up. Had I reached out to ask Zach all my questions and express concerns, I probably would have been more at ease; Zach had certainly made himself available to me in his introduction email when we were first matched. At pick up he spent about an hour walking me through the process he would be going through with Delgado, and what I appreciate the most is that he didn't overpromise results, just that he would work with Delgado to try and isolate and identify underlying issues and do his best to win his trust and bring him back to us as his best, work-in-progress K9 self. He also asserted we would need to work as a family and be consistent once he was back with us in order to set up Delagado for success. Zach sent photos and updates everyday. Our kids looked forward to a photo every morning before school drop. After three weeks, Zach was back with a dog I still wasn't sure was going to be able to stay with us. Zach succeeded in making Delgado walkable enough for our 13-year-old. The consistency needed to help Delgado have a smooth transition back home has brought us closer as a family, and Delgado is now a road dog. Thanks to Zach's training and the relationship he worked to have with Delgado, in the three weeks we've had Delgado back, I have taken him to a farm with lots of other dogs around. He is dog reactive and Zach equipped us to handle his reactivity responsibly. Today we successfully took Delgado to a fall festival where there were a lot of dogs, chickens, piglets, goats and food. We would have never been able to do that before Zach. Now Delgado is a complete member of our family. Where he used to be unbearable in the car, now he's a regular on school carpool runs. Earlier this year we adopted Finn ( dogo/shepard mix) and decided to get some puppy training. We reached out to Ridgeside K9 and we are glad we did! Our trainer, Zach was more than the 5 star rating that we can give. He took Finn for the initial puppy training and we couldn't believe the results. He then took our pup back for the advanced training a few months later and this is where we really saw the difference. My year and a half, 90 pound Belgian Malinois, Draco did a 3 week board and train with Iggy and the results are amazing! He is a really great trainer and sent daily updates with pictures and videos through out the whole 3 week process. On the drop off day he made sure I knew how to handle Draco, so that he can continue to be a good, trained dog. Gave all the tips, and knowledge that I needed. Again, the whole process was great; before the training, Draco struggled with leash pulling, reactivity, and he listened only when he wanted to. I enrolled Layla in the Board & Train program. Her assigned trainer was Iggy. I still cannot believe the change in her behavior! She is much calmer and as a result so is her sister (English bulldog). Iggy really got to know Layla and her quirks to get her engaged and excited about learning new commands. He made sure I knew the proper commands and structure to keep her on track with her training. Our dog Obi just completed his 3 week board in train with Dianna and we couldn’t recommend her and ridgeside enough!! Our pup is a little over 1 and he is a cattle dog/hound mix. He was very reactive and we could barely take him anywhere. He always seemed so anxious and would bark and howl and pull on walks and in public and it felt impossible to communicate with him. On our last trip to the vet it was such a nightmare (even our vet recommended seeking professional training) so I broke down and started the hunt to find a good place to send him. After a lot of research I came across Ridgeside and decided to contact them. The communication was excellent from the start and they were able to get him in pretty quickly and within a time frame that worked best for us. We were so nervous because we had never been away from him for more than a few days and we also didn’t know how he would do or what to expect. From the moment we met Dianna we knew he was in good hands. Obi was also skeptical at first too lol but he quickly warmed up to her! She sent frequent updates with lots of pictures and it made us feel so at ease. He genuinely seemed so happy working with Dianna (you can see his big smile in pictures I have included). Dianna always had so much confidence in Obi which was so reassuring. She quickly understood his triggers and why he reacts the way he does and she worked hard with him to help him feel more confident as well. At pick up, we sat with Dianna just discussing the psychology behind everything and we learned SO much about how he thinks and all about the e collar as well. When it was time to finally put him to the test we saw that it was all worth it. We saw a different dog but in the best way! He is a changed man but still has that goofy, fun loving energy. Ridgeside & Dianna gave us all the tools we needed for success with our pup and a happy life. If you read no further than this, know that Brandi and Perry at Ridgeside K9 are without a doubt the most incredible trainers you could work with! The entire process was phenomenal. The communication with Brandi was thorough and informative prior to dropping our pup Rusty off. At drop off, they gave us a break down of what to expect over the next 3 weeks that our boy would be there along with showing us around the facility and answering any questions we had. I cannot tell you how frustrated and fed up we were with the issues we could not break or train with Rusty but Brandi and Perry helped make it so our boy belongs in our home with our other two dogs now. Trainer Brandi did an outstanding job with Vernon. She kept in touch with me daily across the two-week training schedule with updates and pictures. Brandi and her husband, Perry, brought Vernon home and we couldn’t believe how obedient and happy he was! Trainer Perry spent a good amount of time teaching me, my husband, and our two kids about how Vernon was trained and how we can keep it going.
