Raul is an incredible teacher, I had the best time taking my pool lesson with him & learning about his knowledge & passion for diving, I can only hope one day to be as skillful as he is! I would 100% recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn how to dive, he takes his time & treats you so nicely as you learn to navigate new territory. Raul was an awesome instructor! I went into my confined water dive a little nervous, but that quickly washed away. Raul was friendly, thorough, and patient throughout the whole process. He also kept the group updated on what’s to come, which I found helpful. It was a huge plus to be able to wrap up the confined water skills in a day. I feel confident about the open water dives!

I truly can't put into words how much fun I had learning to scuba dive with Rey Diving. I signed up online after reading their excellent reviews, and the service did not disappoint. Raul is a truly fantastic instructor--kind, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and most of all, enthusiastic. He clearly loves what he does, and it shows. Frank is likewise extremely friendly and helpful. After taking the eLearning (which was included in the cost of the class, and which was, interestingly, *the* most interesting, practical, and well-put-together online course I've ever taken), I did my confined water dives at the Brooklyn Sports Club. My group was small (4 new divers including myself), which was fantastic--all of us really got a ton of instructor attention. While I'm going to be doing some diving next month in Hawaii, I'm almost certain that I'll be signing up for an open-water trip with Rey Diving next year to complete my certification. Genuinely can not recommend Rey Diving enough!

Raul was amazing as an instructor. He has a steady hand and calming but engaging presence. Perfect a day in the pool learning to scuba and most importantly, learning all the safety around scuba. He was generous with his time, super attentive, and willing to foster my curiosity (loads of questions!) I recommend him without any reservations!

My husband did the open water pool dive training with them at Brooklyn Sport Center, and I joined for a refresher course. We were in good hands with Raul and Kevin, who expertly ran the course and made it fun! We would definitely recommend Rey Divers for your PADI training.

Rey diving is an excellent diving shop. Raul Romero is very experienced and made the open water certification a breeze. I have never had any experience diving or even snorkeling before i took his classes. But after taking his open water certification (3 days), by the last 2 dives, i was no longer fumbling with my equipment or focusing on making adjustments, it was like second nature. Its well worth it to go to rey diving for your certifications.

Raul and I taught together at a dive shop on the Upper East Side. Since then, out paths have diverged a bit (as is often the case, right?). When I first met and worked with Raul, I was a Divermaster and worked a couple of pool sessions with Raul. He was, by far, the best instructor I ever worked with. He knows how to help those who "get it" really fast and those (like me when I started) who need a little, let's just say, remediation! If you are looking for someone in the NYC area to spend some time with and really learn how to scuba dive from one of the best in the business, get a hold of Raul!

I highly recommend Rey Diving with Raul Romero. My two sons, ages 13 and 17, and I completed the PDI e-learning and the confined water dive at the YMCA. Our instructor Raul Romero was extremely knowledgeable, patient and attentive. He is a true teacher in the sense that he genuinely wants to pass on his love and skills of scuba diving to others. I had some anxiety going into this experience and every step of the way I felt safe and supported. My sons had an amazing time and we look forward to completing the open water dive at some point in the near future.

Raul's Rey Diving is everything that we could have asked for in a first time dive instructor. Raul made sure my girlfriend and I were comfortable and confident the entire time. The small group setting was exactly what we were looking for (only 3 of us) and I could not even imagine doing this with a bigger group like at other shops. We feel perfectly prepared to finish our open water dives on our vacation and if we ever want to add additional certification then there is no question we are coming back here!
