Its crazy when theres one person in the bar, and all the other cocktail bars in town are full. It may be because they dont tell you there's a $25 minimum to pay with credit card until after you get your first drink. Has the potential to be a decent place. They just need to get rid of the minimum and polish their cocktails a bit.
We were told that we had to take off our soccer jersey during the World Cup. THE WORLD CUP IN AMERICA. To enter the bar and drink worsts place I have been to for a bar only good thing was the space which they don’t want to use up for people horrible staff would not recommend pick another bar in the area there are plenty. Ps I was told you can’t wear your hats backwards only forwards like your gonna rob the place.
Just went in here after a great experience a few months ago and the bartender would not even scan the ID’s of the people that I was with. I was with two friends that are from out of state, yet the bartender claimed that their ID’s were fake - after barely glancing at my ID and my boyfriend’s (both New York ID’s) even though they are years older than us. Then, instead of scanning the ID, he asked for high school graduation photos and said it wasn’t believable when they weren’t able to pull up photos from over 10 years ago within a minute? He said that he did not recognize out of state ID’s, which seemed strange for a bartender, and then suggested that if it was a New Jersey ID, he might “let it slide.” He had two friends who were at the bar and they all started suggesting other bars that would accept “fake ID’s”, with one friend even saying that she accidentally snapped someone’s real ID because she thought it was fake. Such an odd experience.
We were telling our friends how great of a time that we had here last time and have even recommended this bar to others, but I’m shocked by how unprofessionally this situation was handled by the bartender. Definitely not worth a stop.
Went last night for the first time in a while and when this place was under other names. Unattentive staff is a major red flag for me. The Hispanic looking bartender was taking care of all his friends while I'm waiting to order for 10 minutes. What kind of customer service is that?
Above all else, they also ask for a $25 minimum on cards. Even though I can afford it, that's kind of a ridiculous ask in this day and age. That's an oldskool tactic to get more money from you. Normally you see this in nightclubs but this place in Huntington should not be asking that. Probably won't be back.
I rented the entire venue for an anniversary party, and everything was perfect!! Michael and Olivia and the entire team are incredibly kind and professional and made sure everything went smoothly.
My girlfriend and I attend the bar regularly regardless, but this was the first event we hosted. Whenever we need to host something in the future, Repeal will absolutely be the spot! Thank you!!
My fiancé and I had our engagement party here and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was truly outstanding. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the entire event. They helped make the night feel special and stress-free. Our guests had an amazing time, and so did we. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion!
Drove 25 minutes to this place to meet some friends. I was in jeans and a sweatshirt. At least two of us were told that we didn't meet the "dress code." There is virtually nothing on their website indicating that there is a dress code. How is someone supposed to meet a dress code if they don't know it exists?
I would give 0 stars if possible but 1 is the lowest it goes. This place is an absolute disgrace and should be shut down immediately. I question the bars cleanliness and I wonder if they will even pass a health inspection. Everything was dusty and crusty, from the bathrooms to the bartenders. Unprofessional, not polite, rude and horrible service. This was the worst bar experience I’ve ever had, and they were not even busy. I wouldn’t dare order a mixed drink or anything that is not bottled from this place for fear of getting sick. Bartenders were extremely rude and not well trained. I asked for a menu, the bartender doesn’t say a word just points annoyingly at a crusty barcode on the bar. We order a couple “bar bites” which took almost an hour to come out. When we asked the bartender where the food was he said and I quote “I just ate six chicken cutlets, none for you” …. Like go “blank” yourself. I will never go back to this place and I honestly hope they close down, that’s how bad it was.
NOSH Flash:Prohibition is over, but the craft is just beginning at Repeal XVIII. 🥂
Huntington Village has no shortage of watering holes, but Repeal XVIII stands in a league of its own. Taking inspiration from the end of the 18th Amendment, this lounge delivers an experience that is both nostalgic and sophisticated.
The cocktail program is the star here, expertly shaken "bootlegger" classics served alongside their craft beer list. Don’t sleep on their newly expanded bar bites; they are the perfect salty companion to a stiff Old Fashioned. Whether you’re tucked into a velvet couch in the lounge or enjoying the fresh air in their backyard, the attention to detail is evident.
The bar has a deep history! It was rescued by Jon Taffer back in Season 4 of Bar Rescue. Previously known as the Artful Dodger, after Jon's rescue Ps & Qs Auto Body; it’s come a long way from its original automotive theme.
Verdict: Great drinks, impeccable vibes, and the best speakeasy photo-op in town. 🍻✨.Don't forget the historic charm and Giggle Juice. Easy 5-Stars.
