This was an experience of a lifetime. Booking this just 1.5weeks before the trip (Via Ferratta Walk the Torq), liaising on WhatsApp with Rose was a dream, who was so patient in arranging for the booking and answering all the questions before I decided to book, to processing payments and allowing for exceptions when payments did not go through. Then reaching Sabah, having Mr Ramlie pick us up in a bus from our hotel and having Mr Fikri from the company at Timphomon gate, the whole registration experience was smooth and pleasant. Our guide up and down the mountain, Dev, was patient and professional and climbing with another couple in a small group meant that as a solo traveller, I felt safe! Overall, Climbing Mt Kinabalu through Remarkable Borneo Travel & Tours was a dream and so smooth, and I would definitely book through this company again.

We are highly impressed by the care and professional service provided by Remarkable Borneo.. We booked a 3D2N tour to climb Mount Kinabalu..The group consisted of people with age ranging from 16 to 82 years. Remarkable Borneo provided 2 guides to cater for the different speeds of climbing. A lot of things happened to the group. At about 3000 metres, one member suffered from altitude sickness and had to move to a lower level. One guide immediately accompanied him with his companion to a lower ground and arranged accommodation and meals at Kinabalu Park. The 82 years old was climbing at a very slow rate and took 8 hours to reach 3272.7 metres where climbers spent the night before the final assault to the summit the next day. The guide was very patient and let him climb at his own speed. During the night another member felt unwell due to certain stomach bug. The next day this member was very weak and could not move. The guide, Peter, immediately arranged for him to be carried down all the way to the base camp and accompanied him on the way down. The other guide, Luke, came up all the way from Kinabalu Park to accompany the 82 years old to move down slowly. At the end of the day everyone was happily reunited at the base camp where a private transport was awaiting to take them back to their hotel in Kota Kinabalu. We felt we were very well looked after, especially the guides Luke and Peter. We would not hesitate to recommend Remarkable Borneo to anyone.

We booked Remarkable Borneo to climb Mt. Kinabalu in June 2024. We were 7 ladies total and it all went very smoothly. From the airport to retuning to the city, everything was arranged amazingly. We had 2 guides and they were very helpful and flexible.
If I go back, or need to recommend, I wouldn't hesitate to mention remarkable borneo again.

3D2N tour geboekt om Mount Kinabalu te beklimmen. De service is top, hele duidelijk uitleg en ook een zeer uitgebreide omschrijving van wat je de dagen gaat doen. Alles tot in de puntjes geregeld, vanaf het oppikken in je hotel tot aan het terugbrengen bij je volgende accommodatie.
Tourguide Didi is ook een legend, hele chille gast die ons het tempo liet bepalen en hielp op de stukken waar dat nodig was.

We did the Mount Kinabalu (Walk the torque) track with Remarkable Borneo. The mountain was amazing and the trip was very unique. Transport and accommodation were good.
However, I am only able to give 3 starts, as the food at the Pendant Hut (accommodation where we stayed) was really awful. I understand that all food need to be carried up by porters, but still the food that you get just before you start the hike (supper) and second breakfast was the worst breakfast we ever had (egg which was almost green/black as it was very over cooked, chemical-tasting pink sausage, old dry white bread..). As you pay such a high price for the tour (highest price I ever payed for a hiking tour) this should be much much better. I still don’t understand why the price for the tour is so excessively high (3000MYR = €600)..
Lastly, the guide could have been more informative about the region, flora and fauna. He didn’t tell us anything unfortunately.

Firstly big thanks to Maria from Remarkable Borneo Travel & Tours for making 14 climbers dream possible in a short notice,while other 4 agency could not secure our prefer date.Was a bit sceptical for full payment prior to our climb date and big Thanks to Suzy for keeping us up to date on the Bus plate no,Driver contact .Most importantly Suzy did a very Good Job when i told her that i left all the certificate in the bus at our Hotel,Amazingly within half and hour the Driver found it and pass it to the hotel staff.So once again a big Thanks to Maria & Suzy for the memorable journey for 14 of us as both of you are truly Remarkable.

I have booked through Remarkable Borneo in Jan-24 for our May-24 Mount Kinabalu hike. They have managed to accommodate the specific dates I wanted to go while many other Tour companies cannot accommodate. They also offer discounts for the total number of people regardless of different climb packages (Via Ferrata or Standard Climb) our group wanted to do which other companies also did not allow it. Moreover, they helped arrange the same hotel/ accommodation for our group although some of us chose to do standard climb and some did via ferrata. Some companies I have asked go strictly by what they mentioned on their website, different accommodations for different packages, and could not help customise although we are the same group unless we top-up or something. Any questions I have, they have responded very promptly. All along I have communicated with Maria. And nearer to the climb date, Suzy also helped inform the necessary information regarding the transport and climb, etc.

We booked 2D1N for Mt. Kinabalu climb with Remarkable Borneo and we had a really amazing time! All staffs are very nice and supportive through out the whole process. They respond very quickly to inquiries and attentive to our needs. No issues in the reservation at all. The driver who picked us up was right on the schedule and friendly.
Our mountain guide was professional and patient. He was highly supportive and ask if we still doing okay during the whole climb. He helped me a lot and encouraged us to reach the summit eventually (and took great photos!).
10/10 would recommend ☺️
